Jefferson House

Compared to my previous apartment, the Jefferson has been an absolute in every possible way. There were no faults with my unit when I received it and even when I have experienced an issue, the management office has sent someone to repair the issue within a day. The staff is friendly and incredible resourceful. The free coffee and wifi in the lobby is a nice touch as well. Overall, it is clear that the management makes an effort to make its residents feel welcome and appreciated.

Jefferson House has a great location! It’s right at two major bus routes. A grocery store and several restaurants, coffee shop, taverns, and a cool café are all within a short walk. It’s so close that it feels like being on the Hopkins campus. There is construction currently going on next door and the building is old but well maintained. Management is great — they are very responsive and they also facilitate community among the residents.

The rooms are larger than the typical apartment in the area, and reasonably priced. Groceries and restaurants are also extremely close which is nice. Although an older building, it is very well maintained and clean. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. My only complaint would be the lack of in-​unit washer and dryers, and the noise from the nearby construction. I feel that everyone in the area is bothered by the construction though.

There are no words to express how grateful I am to have encountered such a genuine, generous, kind person such as Scott Severn and Daniel Baker. I am a medical student with piled up loans and day in and day out live in a constant stress. That saying, I became irresponsible and failed to read the lease. I did failed to do my part and give notice about my departure in ending the lease. As a result, my lease was automatically renewed. I did not know this until a few weeks before I was moving out. Serendipitously I bumped into a conversation with a friendly greeting from Scott who is always so friendly with everyone that passes by him. It was due to his amiable personality that I realized what type of potential trouble I was in. That as signed per lease, if I didn’t find someone to take over my lease I would have to break the lease with money I didn’t already have. Scott offered to help even though it was my responsibility to find someone. He put me at ease putting forth effort everyday to assist me in a stressful matter in getting out of. It was a kind generous gesture reminding me the rarity of what humanity and human touch of compassion there still remains in this chaotic world. Because of Scott, there is one less major stress off my daily plate of stress I can happily brush off with gratitude and appreciation. Thank you so much. I would recommend in a heart beat to anyone that wants to live in a place where there are amazing people to assist you in creating your next apartment to a place you can call your new home.

Great apartment building especially for students at Hopkins. Can’t ask for a better location with its proximity to the school, restaurants, grocery store, dry cleaning, bank, bus stop, etc. The building itself is also very clean and nice although some of the more recently renovated units are better than others. The staff and maintenance are extremely helpful.
