Goodwill Industries

Great place to drop off things you no longer need, and pick up something new at a good price. I live in the neighborhood and come here several times a year. I like that it’s good for the community, the planet (recycled is better than new!), and my wallet :). It’s worth checking out.

Nah, I look for jewelry and they have everything in bags for $ 15 or $ 20 and there’s only one thing in the bag that you want. The one woman named Betty is not very nice and the other woman named Jackie is always too frustrated with everything that she can’t stand still to answers any questions. They have so little there that you might as well go up the street to Value Village where there’s lots more to choose from.

Being both cheap and a big fan of the earth, I’m down with paying for, and using, another woman’s trash. (I’m also down with finding it on the corner, but I’ll save that for another review.)
This Goodwill is three blocks from my home and I visit it about once a month. It’s pretty small and smells a bit strange but then, some days, so do I. (The smell part, not the small part – that’s true every day.)
Don’t bother w the clothing unless you want to pay a premium for Target rejects.
The housewares are where it’s at. It’s a small offering as I said but if you live in Charles Village and find yourself with a can opener that no longer opens cans because apparently your husband has never used a can opener and doesn’t even realize food is sold in cans (sniff) and you don’t feel like driving to Sur la Tab (do they have one of those in Baltimore?) and paying $ 30 for a stainless steel, state-​of-​the-​art thing to open the kidney beans you got on special for .49 then this is the place to go.
Also, the super friendly staff is nearly always blasting hip-​hop and dancing. Bonus.

This Goodwill is woefully messy. Things are just strewn about in no perceivable order and many of the toys and housewares are just broken and useless. The store itself is hard to navigate because the store is overcrowded and this makes it impossible to dig through the unsorted piles.
I love Goodwills, but this one is impossible to deal with.

A cramped store with a variable selection of used stuff. No furniture, but a decent assortment of housewares and women’s clothing. There is a limited selection of electronics. There is a lot of art, but it’s almost all damaged.
Nothing is particularly well sorted, and the staff often seem overrun.
