Fast, friendly, helpful. A delightful experience, in fact. (When was the last time you heard tire service described as ‘delightful?’ It’s absolutely accurate here.) I’m no expert, but growing up in a family of mechanics has given me enough experience to know when I’m being sold. There was none of that. Unlike some of the big chain shops I’ve visited, there was no attempt to convince me to buy convoluted package deals. None of that «I shouldn’t even leave you drive out of here» bullshit either.
Once I’m out of factory warranty, Gerry’s will be my shop of choice. Until then, they are my #1 tire shop.

I can’t speak for all of their employees, but the guy that handled my car was awesome. I was grumpy AF the morning I had to bring my car in. She had undergone 2 inspections in as many months and all of the sudden the maintenance light came on. Stressing over this plus other things on my plate made me a less than pleasant customer to deal with. Just one of those days where you can’t reign in your bad mood no matter how hard you try.
The guy that helped me didn’t waiver at my sh*tty attitude and continued to be pleasant throughout the process. It turned out that the last place to change my oil didn’t bother to reset the oil life monitor, hence the angry yellow light. He reset it free of charge (given my overall demeanor that morning, he could have very well made me pay a fee… and I wouldn’t blame him) and alerted me to some other issues that may be looming in the next year that I should keep an eye on.
I know where I’ll be going when I’m actually due for maintenance.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had at an auto shop. They were so friendly, quick and accommodating! I had a nail in my tire and they fixed my tire in about 25 min for just 30 $!! I’ll be recommending them to everyone and will be going back for future car maintenance!

The customer service and responsiveness was definitely above average. The staff informed me of all pertinent repair information and gave due diligence in presenting options for repair. My car required a starter motor replacement and the repair was completed start to finish same business day.
CAUTIONARY TALE: my car was towed to their lot on Saturday and since they do not service on weekends, it was not handled by the company until Monday. In that time, my car was vandalized with the passenger window completely smashed. The owner claimed no liability since he has a sign that states he is not responsible for any damage for vehicles parked in that lot. He did file a police report for me but did not cover the window damage, although did replace for a very reasonable cost.
Nonetheless, the service was top notch and very responsive. Would definitely recommend their service to family and friends!

Love these guys. I discovered a nail in my tire on a Sunday. Knowing that Gerry’s was closed, I sent them an email asking if I could bring my car by sometime on Monday to have the tire repaired. I figured that I would hear something from them on Monday. A few minutes later, John replied and told me to bring it in anytime on Monday.
I did, and they promptly fixed it for a fair price. These are great guys working hard and providing a good service and even a clean, customer-friendly waiting room. Gerry’s is a great asset to the neighborhood.

I’m one of those Unilocalers who only writes when I have an extremely good or an extremely bad experience. This time, I am delighted to recount the amazing experience I had this morning with Gerry’s Tire Service.
Last week, I hit a piece of wood on the Bay Bridge when I was coming back to Baltimore that dented my wheel. I had a few people look at it and called around, and I was concerned that my dented wheel was a tire blowout/disaster waiting to happen. Of course I was very anxious driving my car because of that and also because I was worried about how much fixing something like that was going to cost.
I called Gerry’s yesterday and spoke to John, who encouraged me to bring my car in so they could have a look at it. I arrived at 6 sharp this morning, they took me right away, and I was out of there in 15 minutes. They repaired my dented rim, checked my car’s alignment, checked my tire, and sent me on my way. NO CHARGE, no attempt at an upsell, nothing! I should mention I’m a young woman and I went by myself, so I was prepared to battle. But the Unilocal reviews on here are exactly right — these guys were fair, kind, and didn’t charge me when they totally could have. I will go back any time I need anything done on my car.
I am so happy I’ve found a great mechanic in Baltimore. What a relief! They are wonderful, and I am so grateful.
PS — Some of the other reviews mention parking in the lot across Lombard from the shop. That’s good advice!

This is a great place to take your car. They are friendly, professional and genuinely concerned about vehicles being repaired correctly. My son is presently deployed overseas and asked me to take his car in. Gerry’s is highly recommended and now I know why. Finally I had a reason to pay a visit to Gerry’s, which I found via Unilocal and swore that I needed to check out next time I had a tire debacle. These guys are the best… super friendly and were able to get me in an out in less than an hour when I came in at 6:30a for a tire that needed to be patched. Charged a reasonable price and didn’t try to upsell me on a new tire when I didn’t need one.

Asked to diagnose a check engine light and why my car was sputtering. I was told that that both problems were caused from low oil in the engine. LIES. I checked the oil prior to dropping it off, it was right at the recommended level. Instead of using oil due to find a leak, like every other repair facility does, they «clean the engine» and then look for a leak, charging $ 90. After letting them have the vehicle for 3 days, they called me back to tell me that the valve cover gasket was leaking (which I already knew) and that they could not duplicate the sputtering problem or to get the check engine light to come back on. The same evening I picked the vehicle up, the car started acting up again with the same problems, sputtering and check engine light.
The guys at the front desk were friendly, and the establishment is clean, they’ve got that going for them. They’re technicians are lazy and are liars. I was scammed $ 180 for not figuring out my problem. Not recommending this place for anyone who needs a good technician.

The reviews don’t lie! Frank and John were both super helpful and friendly. I pulled in at 7:30 on my way to work with a nail in my tire. Apparently my wheels have locks, so they had to find the key to unlock the tire. Once they found it, John called me outside and showed me how to find it and what to do if I ever need to get a wheel off again. [I thought that was above and beyond.] I was out of there by 8:30 with my tire successfully patched and it only cost me $ 30. I will definitely be going back with any future car needs!
Note: Park on Lombard in the lot directly across the street from Gerry’s. They will get your car from there.

My daughter visited us this weekend and I realized her vehicle needed two front tires which no dealer had in stock, (we live in the Valley Forge, PA area).
As she lives in the inner harbor we decided to look near her home and found Gerry’s Tire Service.
I took a shot and emailed them just so it’d be on their radar for the first thing Monday when they got into the shop. To my amazement I got a reply within an hour… ON A SUNDAY when they were closed!
After a great conversation via email we set up the appointment for first thing Tuesday morning which worked for my daughter’s schedule.
In today’s age of less talk, less service, less personal and just plain less I found someone willing to give more. For that I am thankful…

Called Gerry’s to get a quote for new tires. They didn’t have the specific ones I wanted but were able to get them in the next day. My car was in and out in a little over an hour. It should have been longer with alignment but they called me to say they took my car out for a drive and it really didn’t need an alignment. Saved me $ 90! I appreciate the honesty which is hard to find at maintenance shops.

I’m so glad I found this place! Being a woman, some mechanics try to take advantage of you and suggest repairs you absolutely don’t need. Well not this place. They are all very honest people who only tell you what you need to have done. When they quote you prices, they normally include the cost of labor and tax so you aren’t taken by surprise once you go to pay. They have great customer service and I highly recommend going here for any car repairs. The only downside is their hours. It’s great they open really early, but they close at 4p which makes it difficult to pick up your car the same day. BUT the good news is, if you can’t pick it up the same day, they have a fenced in parking lot they lock it up in which is great!

Had a pair of new tires and needed them mounted and balanced – called in on a Friday, dropped car off Monday 8am and was rolling out of the parking by 10AM. Costed $ 60 total.
They were super nice and was able to fit me in and do the change quickly so I only had to wait in the office for about a little over an hour, enjoying the AC and listening to a recap of last night’s crazy US vs Portugal world cup match. The wait was much shorter than expected.
Two tips: Yes, park your car across the street in their 2 lots just as another Unilocaler mentioned. And do check your tire pressures afterwards, my new tires were over-inflated – one by about 5 psi cold.

Never been to Gerry’s before but my wife’s car needed brakes and I certainly wasn’t getting that done at the dealership. So, I emailed them and asked them for a quote for front and rear breaks. I receieved a response the same day for much less then the dealership so I made an appointment. I dropped the car off at 8 am as instructed. I will say this now, definitely park across the street in Gerry’s two lots and then walk over. It is a pain if you pull into the garage area because they will tell you to park accross the street. It is not easy to cut accross Lombard at 8 am. They should probably tell you that prior to dropping your car off. The gentleman inside was definitely nice and helpful and he told me my car would be done by noon. I was thinking wow, that’s fast. I have sat at the dealership for longer than that for a freaking oil change. Even if I was waiting, there is a little waiting area with a TV and free candy. Corned beef row is right down the street from Gerry’s if you are hungry as well. (Weisse, Lenny’s and Attman’s)
At around 11:30 am I got the call that the car was finished. That is awesome. Gerry’s may have to be my new go to spot for all my car’s needs. The service was fast, nice and delivered on time. Nice job Gerry’s and thank you for not pushing unwanted services on me when I brought my car in!
