I wanted to dye the tips of my hair red, but I’m terrible at doing my own hair. On the other hand, I’m a grad student so I’m on a budget. Going to this salon = awesome hair and only minus 15 dollars from my wallet. She even styled my hair for me! The place itself is also pretty awesome. Cool music and decorations, and while I waited for the color to set in, I had fun chatting with the barbers/stylists.

Floyd’s is awesome. My boyfriend and I were in town this past weekend for a holiday party and needless to say, the procrastinator(boyfriend) needed a trim. We walked into Floyd’s around 3:30pm and had a thirty minute wait. They were prompt and on time and he got an amazing cut. Floyd’s appearance is exciting, with its black exterior and rocker-themed interior. The staff were all very professional and the salon was very clean. Overall a fantastic cut from a reputable spot. Highly recommend!

I was able to get a pretty good haircut from these guys, and with less of a wait than at Blue Spark. However, I’m spoiled, and pretty good doesn’t really work for me, so I went back to my usual spot in spite of the long line. If you’re close, this is an okay place to go, but I can’t say I recommend them.

I asked for a barber but they insisted that a stylist could do my zero fade. I have two distinct lines and it looks pretty terrible. One of the worst cuts I’ve had.

I visit Floyd’s maybe two weeks ago late one evening since it was brand new. They were also running the ½ off haircuts so that drew me in. This was my first time at the Flyod’s chain and I’m pretty impressed. I really like the edgy pop culture vibe to it. The decorations definitely set the place apart. Everything was very clean and VERY organized. They didnt have a POS system like some of the bigger brands to where they maintain a list of who’s waiting via the computer. A girl at the front desk just wrote it down in a large book. Not that is a bad thing but more of a general observation. What I really like are the girls that work there. They are all friendly and have that edgy tattoo look — much much different than what’d you see at another local place. Just my personal preference too. I’m not too picky on my haircut and it’s the same thing over and over so I’m not going to pick part the performance of the stylist. However, I was not expecting a straight razor neck shave which was interesting and I loved it. Granted, not really a big deal to set this place apart but a very nice personal/finishing touch. You also get a quick shoulder massage at the end which was pretty cool. Nothing awkward. I’ll definitely be back and this certainly deserves 4 stars. I think the price is pretty fair at $ 24 for a men’s haircut(mine was half off due to a promotion). I’d give it 5 if they would also throw in a straight razor shave for like $ 10 more… not sure if they even do that though… but would be nice. Guys, check this place out at least once.

Really impressed — great service, possibly the best beard shave/trim I’ve ever gotten and the price was fantastic + they’re giving 50% off** for the first month they’re open. So screw sitting in Harbor East traffic stop in for a shave & haircut instead.(listen to some great music too) **Gentlemen, tip on the true total not the discounted amount — DON’T BETHATGUY

Ask for Sweeney, he’s the best! I’d avoid the shave, though, if I were you. Too close for comfort IMHO. The meat pies next door are delish!
