I had a great experience at Flaunt. I had Jess do my hair, and she was wonderful. I brought in some pictures of things I like, and things I don’t like. I’ve been a little picky and spoiled with regard to hair dressers in previous cities, so it’s fairly surprising to myself that I’m going to stick with the first place I went!
The salon is cute, there’s lots of street parking. Their schedule does book up fairly far in advance, especially if you want to get the after-​work evening or weekend hours. But it’s easy enough to look through their online schedule and find a time that works.
Jess had me laughing and chatting all along. It feels like catching up with an old friend, the way we just kept talking. I came out with a wonderful haircut, and got compliments right away. I mean, I left the salon and went to work, and immediately my co-​workers were like «what did you do to your hair today? it looks fantastic!» =)

Lindsay, Nazz, and Jess are all wonderful. I trust any of them with my cuts. They are very professional, affordable, and easy to schedule with their website (it even sends reminders!). I have been coming here since 2013 and have been happy with every haircut. I hope Flaunt stays around forever! Lindsay is a great owner who is able to take feedback seriously while always being approachable and friendly.

Contacted them via email for an appointment and they were super responsive. Did a great consult with Nazz and cannot say enough great things about his work. I needed my roots done desperately (I’m a bottle blonde) and he matched everything really well and gave me a gorgeous steel/​silver/​white tone. He also gave me one of the coolest updos I’ve ever SEEN let alone ever had for the wedding I was attending — but generally was really helpful and listened to all my concerns and direction (can sometimes be daunting when meeting with a new stylist). I would consider coming from NYC to see him, that’s how happy I am with my color! Thanks again!

Hey time for another Flaunt Kevin Murphy product fix. What’s great is that the first Friday of the month the products on the shelves are discounted. Each product you purchase gets an increasing discount from 5 to 15% on up to three products. I loaded up today on a lovely trio for my hair. Because my hair needs needs the volume increased I bought KM plumping wash which really works for my hair. Then I bought the Anti. Gravity volumiser to which my colored tresses are addicted. Lindsey also recommended the Hydrate-​Me .Masque to keep my fizzy hair hydrated and smooth. I have never used this but hope that it performs as well as my other two favs.
Lastly Lindsey is like a pharmacist for the hair. She really knows and understands how to use and pair these products so that you get the results you want. She said she is getting a new line of KM products for the holidays and that I can make an appointment to view these goodies. Wow how many shops can make you feel so good about purchasing hair products. This little gem on 36^th does it for sure.

I had wanted to dye my hair purple for a looong time, I use to do old school manic panic back in the day and wanted a grown up version that was funky and fun. I got the ok from my supervisor at work and after looking at a few different salon portfolios I felt like Flaunt had the most experience with «fantasy colors.» I scheduled a consultation with Jess and took my inspiration pictures and a unicorn headband I had from halloween. Jess came up with a game plan, walked me through what would need to happen and gave me a reasonable price. At my appointment Jess explained everything she was doing, listened to my feedback and knocked it out of the park! My hair was awesome! Blues and purples and pinks, it was great! Fast forward two weeks when I find out my department is restructuring and I decided to go on a job hunt. ahhhh! Went back to Jess, she got all the fantasy color out, except some pesky blue that would just not budge. Instead of overprocessing it and forcing it out she did some test strands and figured out how to get it back to my natural color (strawberry blonde) with the blue still there. We gave my hair a couple of days to rest and I came back in for my color. Now I’m a strawberry blonde again, but better! In the span of a month it was bleached out twice and intensely colored twice and I swear my hair feels healthier now then it did before all of this started.
The atmosphere is great, Lindsey and Jess have a great relationship, there are always fun conversations going on. I can tell Lindsey’s clients love her, she always has regulars when I’m there for my appointment with Jess and they always leave looking great. I would trust both of them with my hair and will definitely be returning.

Lindsay is brilliant, and more than just a hair stylist, she is an artist. If your looking for a modern edgy haircut and are open to trusting her with some creative leeway, this is definitely the salon to go to. Her work is amazing!

I have been looking for a salon for a few weeks. My last stylist moved out of state :(so I looked here and decided to try Flaunt Salon. I have always been very cautious about getting any sort of highlights since the last two times I had it done, the result was a disaster! But I was going on vacation and wanted to try balayage. From the beginning, Jess was welcoming and very open to hearing me out. Jess is also extremely knowledgeable about hair, which made me extra confident in her suggestions. Jess not only gave me a great cut with side swiping bangs but also wonderful balayage hair! It was exactly what I wanted but Jess still said to call her if I felt the style was not 100% to my satisfaction. Awesome! Found my new stylist! Worth the price.

Lindsy was exceptional and very professional and eager to please. I had a superb experience and thank you so very much for that.

I cannot say enough about Flaunt. I would recommend this salon to anyone without any hesitation. I moved back to Baltimore recently and was prepared to drive back to central PA to see my stylist. A friend posted that Flaunt was looking for hair models for an event (their birthday party) who would be willing to do anything with their hair, including fantasy colors, and that sounded like fun, so I got in touch and showed up one Saturday evening to see what Jess had in mind. Long story short, she did my entire head in pink, orange, yellow, and wild orchid. It looked absolutely incredible. I had the color in for six weeks and only had it removed because my roots were starting to come in and I wanted low-​maintenance color. I’ve never had a more empowering six week period in my life, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try something a little (okay, a lot), crazy.
When Jess went in to remove the color, the orange did. not. want to come out. She had to process it with bleach three times before the orange became manageable. What I really appreciated was the fact that she took great care with my hair throughout, making sure as little damage was done at possible, and she cleared time in her schedule to bring me in two more times to get a natural color back. This meant that I had bleached and then toned hair for almost a week, but it was absolutely worth it. My hair doesn’t feel dry or damaged, and the color holds beautifully because Jess knew how to take care of it. The color she put in my hair is beautiful and I love it even more than my natural color (even though it’s pretty close!). I also really appreciated that Lindsay and Jess consulted about my hair to figure out the best course of action. They’re such an excellent team. I’m so glad to have found my new stylist — someone who knows what she’s doing and isn’t willing to sacrifice high quality for instant gratification.

I was in desperate need of color correction after a bad boxed bleach incident, and needed to get it fixed. After researching a bunch of salons, I decided to try Flaunt. I am SO glad I did — it was one of the most positive salon experiences I’ve had in a while.
Lindsay was AMAZING. Going to a new salon for the first time is always a little nerve-​wracking because you don’t know if it will be a good fit, but as soon as I met Lindsay I was immediately at ease. She was personable, friendly, and honest in her advice, and she really listened to my needs. She talked me through what she was doing every step of the way, and the end result was amazing. Love love love what she did for my hair AND my confidence!
Convienent location, good prices, and awesome staff. Definitely will be going back!

Want super cool colors in your hair? Jess is your girl. It’s a lovely space with friendly and attentive service. But the styling speaks for itself.

Flaunt is awesome! I had a razor cut a few months back that didn’t work for my hair type and Lindsay was able to salvage my hair and reshape into something beautiful. I have thin, but slightly voluminous curly hair. Lindsay is a pro with curly hair, a hard thing to find in stylists. I started coming to Lindsay in 2012, and other than the one razor cut from someone else, I’ve gotten every cut with her. She’s looked after my hair and made it amazing from when it was super short to the shoulder length it is now.

Lindsay and Jess are awesome! I love this shop! Lindsay has worked with me to find the right extensions to give my shorter limp hair volume and texture. That is a feat! And with affordable maintenance so I can keep it going. I couldn’t be more pleased.
5 stars for personality, skill, risk taking (nobody wants to cut extensions shorter lengths), artistry and cutting edge knowledge of what’s new out there in hair!

I’ve been really debating about this review but after my fabulous experience at dolce salon in Baltimore I have to caution people about flaunt. I went twice to give it a fair chance and the second time was horrible. To make it even worse the owner made me feel horrible for the junior stylists mistake. It was just awful. I still tipped and paid but I decided to take my business else where. Very uptight atmosphere.

I just moved to Baltimore in January from NYC and it has been tough trying to find the right salon. For my first haircut I went to a different salon in Hampden (one with very high ratings and lots of them) and I felt as though I was an annoyance to my stylist. I’m not good at small talk and don’t love to gab with whomever is cutting my hair, but this woman barely said two words to me. I liked the haircut well enough but when I asked about putting some funky color in my hair the next time I came in, again I got an almost brushoff and an «I guess, if you want» attitude.
For my second cut I wanted to stay in the Hampden area because it’s my favorite neighborhood so I decided to try out Flaunt based on the great reviews. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did! Jess was so nice and really thought about what kind of cut would work best for my short, super-​thick, curly, low-​maintenance hair. When I told her about my idea to add a little color she was very enthusiastic and brought over the color swatches right away. She talked about how the colors would work with my hair and even took a couple of snips of my hair to test out the two colors I was most interested in. She talked to me the whole time she was cutting and it never made me feel uncomfortable. She even explained how to best bring out the curls in my hair and what products and styling tools would be most helpful.
This was truly one of the best salon experiences I have ever had and I’m really looking forward to coming back for the color and for future cuts. Thanks, Flaunt, you’re the best!

UPDATE: I have been going to Flaunt for a year now and I just want to say that I have never been happier with my hair as I am now! I schedule for trims every 2 months and I am very happy with the service. Ever since I started coming here, I found my inner badass. I’ve been more comfortable with change and went from long hair down my back to a nice inverted bob. I’m constantly going shorter and I love it!
I switch between Lindsay and Heather, based on availability and I must assure you, they are both AMAZING! I had Heather for my last 2 – 3 cuts and I decided to show her pictures of stacked inverted bobs and she did exactly that. (SHOUTOUT TO HEATHER!!) I am always pleased with my haircuts and still HIGHLY recommend this salon! Thank you girls!
I also purchased several deluxe mini sized products from the J Beverly Hills and Kevin Murphy line and I am pleased with the pricing and the quality of products.

Having recently moved back to Maryland, I have been searching for a new hair artist. I confess that I’m picky, as my hair is not forgiving of a lame cut. I feel, though, that a good hair cut makes a world of difference in how I feel about my appearance and therefore how I carry myself. To me, it’s worth finding someone good and spending a bit more time and money (my cut was $ 50) than at cheapie the-​fast-​food-​of-​salons salons. I got my hair cut last week at another salon and… Well, today I went to Flaunt to have it fixed.
First, I arrived about twenty minutes late because I hadn’t allowed enough time to find parking. I felt badly about that and rushed, but Jess was very nice and understanding about that. When I went in, I noted the atmosphere of the salon was fun, funky, cheerful and relaxing. Jess has great hair, which is always a good sign. Then I was offered a beverage and we talked about my hair. She agreed with my assessment of the cut from last week and fixed it, doing what I had envisioned originally, efficiently and very well. I am very happy with my cut and think I have found my gal! She consulted with me on color, which we didn’t have time to do today, and I’m going back next week for that.
All in all, super fantastic. I recommend Flaunt on the Avenue in Hampden for your hair happiness.

I’m fairly new to the area, and have been casually looking for a new place to cut my hair. The other day, when my hair situation was looking pretty desperate, I called Flaunt after researching places on Unilocal,and made an appointment with their new stylist, Jess. The appointment was made for the next day (got to love when they can fit you in quick).
When I arrived, Jess greeted me at the front desk. She was super friendly and knowledgeable as we talked about my hair and what I wanted to do with it. I also told her I was thinking about changing the color, and, even though she didn’t have time to do color that day, she gave me a ton of ideas to think about. She did an excellent job on my hair, and I am excited to go back next week to try out one of her color ideas!
Also, the salon is super cute. I love the hot pink, animal prints, and chandeliers. Best of all, there is an adorable kitty that I got to hold! Thanks so much for an awesome experience, and I can’t wait to come back!

After living in the Baltimore area my entire life, I have FINALLY come across a salon and stylist I love. I’ve literally never gotten a haircut that I love before, except for once, in Mexico City. This would become a topic of conversation with Lindsay, the owner/​lead stylist who cut my hair.
I’m Mexican and I have A TON of thick, semi-​course wavy hair. Literally, I have about 3 x’s the typical persons amount of hair. It’s a bit of a joke amongst my friends and family. In my opinion my hair is a hop, skip, and a jump away from being African American hair. The main difference is that my hair isn’t quite as textured and has much more movement to it. Needless to say, I have difficult hair and it was down to my waist when I walked through Flaunt’s doors, and I had a semi-​formed, hair wrap dread at the base of my neck. A stylist’s worst nightmare, right?
I’m used to the look of horror from stylists when I take my hair out of it’s bun and sit down in the chair. As they frantically comb through it and listen to what I want, I can see the sweat beads forming along their hair lines and the panic start to rise in their voices. Not only did Lindsay compliment me on my hair, (making me feel really awesome) she listened closely to what I said and made suggestions to the picture I brought in that would make the cut feasible with my hair. I wanted blunt bangs a la Zoeey Deschanel and I wanted my hair to be shoulder length. Given my texture and body, she suggested a longer cut and some wispy side bangs to set off the blunt bangs. Additionally she made sure that I knew this hair cut would require daily styling on my end, (which I was okay with).
Throughout my experience, Lindsay was warm and engaging, and I felt like I had walked out of there with a new friend! Her adorable kitty kept us company in her little bed, which was amazing, because I love cats. Like, a lot. Lindsay kept our conversation flowing and it felt super natural, like I was just hanging out with a friend and just so happened to also be getting an amazing haircut. We even talked about eventually getting some crazy blues and purples into my hair, and maybe even working that dread back into my hair, but done correctly. She showed me her color swatches, and I’m really impressed by the variety, as well as how pigmented and rich the colors are.
All of the products she used were vegan and smelled delicious. I loved the way they made my hair feel and I ended up purchasing the J. Beverly Hills shampoo and conditioner. She had a great deal and I got a free full-​size shine mist with my purchase!
When all was said and done, and I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe how amazing my hair looked. It was soft and super shiny, and everything looked beautiful… but my bangs weren’t laying quite right. Lindsay noticed immediately and immediately corrected it by cutting a few more layers in. Within seconds, it was perfection. I mean it. They frame my face so well, I truly felt like I got a customized haircut.
I waited a little over 2 weeks to write this review, to allow the hair cut to grown in, and it’s still prefect, even when I don’t style the bangs. She cut my hair in such a way that it looks great straight or wavy. I obviously have to straighten my bangs everyday, but it takes about 5 minutes and I swear, I get so many «looks» since I’ve gotten this haircut.
I was on the welcome end of many compliments that day, from classmates, professors, my boyfriend, friends and even 2 perfect strangers. I’m used to the occasional random compliment, but to be complimented over and over again for the following days was so awesome. I felt so good and I can’t believe how much of a difference a hair cut can make in a person!
Lindsay you are amazing. Flaunt is amazing and the products you recommended are great. Overall, a truly 5 star experience, and I am one tough customer! Thank you so much and I can’t wait to follow-​up again.

Amazing! I had Heather, the Jr. Stylist, and I will definitely be returning. She saved me from myself (I had frugged up my hair color by using a box dye that, inexplicably, lifted the color in my roots and did nothing to the rest of my hair). I now have a glorious, chestnutish color. AND I now have someone to consider «my stylist» and a place to call «my salon» in Baltimore.
OH! And there’s a KITTY! Which, for me, was a huge plus. Cuz I’m a crazy cat lady.
EDIT 6÷1÷13: I have now had Heather cut my hair as well – and it was a big cut, like 5 inches off. She did an incredible job, and was great about asking the head stylist for tips (important for someone who is a jr. stylist, learning all the tips and tricks). Totally pleased and will be back for all my hair needs while I’m in Baltimore: D
