Eutaw Place is a fantastic little music venue in the basement of the lower level of the Beth Am Synagogue in Baltimore’s Reservoir Hill neighborhood. It’s kind of an interesting out-of-the-way location. This is an intimate venue that is really for people who want to listen to the words and the lyrics of amazing singer-songwriters. The sound level is for listening, not for promoting hearing loss(like multiple other venues I’ve been to over the years.). I came here last night with the SO to see a friend play who is based in Nashville, but was making a mini-tour through this part of the country. They hold a show(on average) one Saturday per month. When I say intimate, I mean you’re at most 100 feet from the stage in the back row, and it only holds a few hundred seats. This is run by a non-profit so prices on everything are very reasonable. So reasonable, in fact that you may want to make a small donation. They also accept used musical instruments as part of another program to get music into the local community and schools. If this sounds like your kind of place, then it probably is. They deserve to be patronized. Bonus: Beer, wine, coffee, tea, homemade cookies, and singer merch in the back. Where else do you get to shake hands and tell the artist what you thought of their show without buying a VIP ticket?
