Arrived around 845 pm, and was quiet compared to an hour later when the bar area was getting busier. Plenty of seats available. Bar service was quick and took our orders in no time. Prices were so/so, but I guess for the area that’s typical. Portion sizes were not great. I had the $ 12 short rib tacos with Mac and cheese on the side. That was $ 15 alone, and I could’ve had double the portion. Margarita was small portion size, but done well in my opinion. I could have had a couple more! Ambience is nice though for groups or get togethers.

I frequent El Bufalo because it’s the bar sponsor for a lot of the Baltimore Social sports. That being said, it’s not my favorite place. Maybe they’re just overwhelmed after Baltimore Social games but the service is kinda slow. They should plan to staff more for these times or be more attentive. The steak or chicken nachos are pretty good($ 12) and so is their tequila selection(of course). I ordered Huevos Rancheros and it was pretty good but not mind blowing($ 12). The reason they scored a 3 with me is at brunch I decided to try their bottomless mimosas because it’s brunch and why not?! Well I’ll tell you why not… mimosas don’t have soda water in them. They’re like 50% soda water. I understand that they don’t want their patrons to get sloppy drunk but come on.

Meh. I came to this bar when it first opened and didn’t have food yet, and it was a good space, and an OK time. Most recently I came back on a Saturday night. The bar was pretty empty and the staff were friendly. We went to the upstairs bar to watch some sports. The space is great. There’s lots of room, lots of TVs, awesome décor, but we had came here for cheap beers — and that is not what we got. $ 5 for a miller light. WOOF. This was really disappointing and we thought they would have been $ 4ATMOST. Our other friends got 2 shots of tequila(nothing fancy) and 2 dos equis, and it was $ 26. It just doesn’t seem right. There are so many other places in the square that are not as pricey. I most likely won’t be back.

GREATFOOD!!! I loved this place before they starting serving food so I was very excited, yet weary about ordering it from order up. I got the fish tacos which can be fishy at other places but omggggg it was so good! Even with delivery it wasn’t messed up, still everything in place. Not soggy even tho it obviously wasn’t freshly warm. The guac and chips were also amazing. Can tell made in house and the chips are sooooo good. Going to be ordering from them again!!! Highly recommend getting their food. Even for delivery :)

Family style nachos are the real deal– and actually really good. So are the short rib tacos. Margaritas are nice too! Always a good time. A big Baltimore Social spot.

This was not my first choice, but it was after 9pm & raining, and I’d been curious about this place ever since I glanced at their menu a while ago and saw they had mexican al pastor style pork. the menu was much smaller than expected and as soon as I saw what was on offer and the various spanish misspellings on the menu(like nails on a chalkboard to me) my alarm bells went off. I was not expecting authentic mexican and there are plenty of decent gringo-mexican or fusion places, but the menu left a lot to be desired. the al pastor meat was only on offer on tacos, they had a torta(mexican sandwich) section that featured crispy chicken, hamburger, potatos(¿wtf?) and other non-mexican meats. i settled on the enchiladas del mar(shrimp enchiladas). my margarita was fine(as expected) and the server was attentive. as soon as the food came, you could tell by the bland smell that i was in for a bland meal, and that’s just what i got. it tasted like something i would have made at home. you have to try really hard to make mexican food bland(with its wealth of millenia-old spice and herb combinations). there was also a horrible salad that i didn’t know was part of my meal(ice burg lettuce, carrots, and pickled japapeños) that was just like being given a plate of shredded tasteless lettuce. ¡¿¡all that for US$ 18!?! needless to say, i will never go back to this place, at least not to eat.

First time in and very impressed with the tequila selection. Great spot to host parties because you can buy a case of beer for the table or a bottle. Try the food and give Brent some love. A must try.

SUMMARY: Good food, nice staff… maybe it’s changed? FULLSTORY: Came here with a group after one of the«first Thursdays» concerts in Canton… no idea it was here before that night(and ya, ok, we were originally trying to go to the nacho place next door but didn’t want to wrestle the 39 randos at the door to get in…) but per other reviews, seems like this place may have changed for the better recently! The bartender and waiter we had were both super friendly. Food was actually pretty good… and you no longer have to «BYO»… guacamole and veggie tacos(avocado, pumpkin seeds, beets, sweet potato with lime…). And they had some good beer options as well. Had a big table available, helping us avoid the crowds that swarmed in later on. Note: Some of the Baltimore rec league sports teams come here, so it can get a little feisty.

Been here plenty of times after flag football games for a few drinks with the team. Now that they have a menu I will actually come on non-game days. I had the caesar salad and the stuffed chicken. They were both surprisingly decent. I only say that because when I think of El Bufalo I only picture the bar… but now it’s more! Did have some service issues as our food(the stuffed chicken) was given to another table on accident. It took about 30 minutes to get it. But the manager on duty corrected it by taking it off the check. Will be back to try out more things on this menu.

I am just old, so take this all with a grain of salt. This was the closest place to our dinner destination on a cold night, so we popped in for a beer to wait for our reservation. I’m sure it’s a hot pick up spot for the 20 year olds, but this place just reminded me of college and bad decisions.

This place has terrible reviews but I found it pretty decent… –lots of seating for watching sports –not super loud or crowded –walls are kinda ‘rustic’ but they hold the place up –they let you bring your own food

It’s the sponsor bar for Baltimore Social Sports leagues, so I come here regularly and usually have a good time. Aside from social sports though, if it weren’t for the league, this wouldn’t be my first choice of bar. Or at al. The bartenders, though, do know us, since we’re there often, so they’re friendly. However, aside from that, this place is bare-bones, not in a divey way, but in a frat house kind of way. The floors are always kind of grimy(makes sense since they play flip cup after football). Maybe if they made the effort to clean it a bit and give it a bit more personality? It’s BYO-food, so they’re fine if we go to the pizza places in the Square and bring food in, which is kind of a must, because Baltimore Social usually runs out of food…
Good lord… If I wanted to pay 11 bucks for a Makers on the rocks, I would still live in Brooklyn.

It’s just kind of dirty and gross. We went weekly for skeeball league and had a good time but it sort of smelled like a frat house, the railing on the stairs was always loose, the locks on the bathroom doors didn’t work, the skeeball machines always broke down, etc. The don’t serve food The music is decent though

If you want to pay $ 7 for a Fat Tire draft, then this is your place. If you want to be surrounded by a bunch of over-tanned a*holes with white button-down shirts, sweating together on the dance floor, then this is your place. This place sucks — even when you’re hammered.

I think this particular bar location has closed down and reopened(quite a few times) and El Bufalo is the actual name. for now at least. As part of the Baltimore City Kickball League, we were thrust upon El Bufalo which is nice, because I enjoy checking out new digs. Surprisingly, I had no idea this bar was located right on Canton Square. It’s convenient since our kickball games are located next to Duburns. making it a pretty leisurely walk to the square and we don’t have to find parking after a long game. El Bufalo has opened its doors to us rowdy kickballers and allows the league members to eat/drink at a discounted rate at this bar location. Also, the upstairs of the bar is designated for Baltimore City Kickballers to partake in flip cup competitions, which is a part of the league. Essentially, I haven’t seen much of this bar but my hope is to keep coming back and maybe I’ll even find a new place to hang out on the weekends.
