DGD is an independent, artist run business! A longtime Baltimorean, painter & performer, I like to come up new ideas to keep myself going. This is just one in a long line of fun things. I bought my own home recently & went out to get doormats. The selection was horrible– expensive, ugly and disappointing. My hubby said I should make them myself, so I did! We all have heard it, do what you love and it will work– it’s true!

I’m pretty unsatisfied with my online order. So unsatisfied that I need to write a review about it.
I bought a doormat as a birthday present through the website. Completed the order, got an email conformation, all was well. The next day I get an email saying that shipping to me in Hawaii would be $ 37. Errr… well that’s understandable considering the doormat is bulky and probably heavy, but that’s the sort of thing one would like to know as they are ordering, before they pay for it. Nowhere in my ordering process did I see that it would cost big $ to ship it to Hawaii.
Instead of asking if I still wanted to go through with the order and pay the $ 24 difference for shipping, I was told that an invoice was sent my way.
…The mat didn’t get shipped out until another 6 days later!
So I ended up paying $ 82 for a doormat and 20 days after I ordered it, it still hasn’t arrived and won’t get here for another few days. Needless to say it didn’t arrive for my bro’s birthday.

I got a really nice doormat from «Damn Good Doormats» off of etsy this week. i live in a shoes-​off household, and it is so tiresome asking all my guests to take their shoes off. Damn Good Doormats made me a sweet door mat that says «Leave your worries and your shoes at the door». Real good quality, home-​made, not-​made-​in-​china, and highly practical. So happy with my purchase.
