I was presenting at a conference and needed a poster printed within 8 hours. I thought that was plenty of time, so I thought that Curry Printing whose motto is «Impossible Deadlines Met» would be perfect. I used to own a poster printer and it’s as easy as pressing Ctrl+P and the poster would be done. Initially they said it could not be finished until the next day, but finally after negotiating with them (about 30 minutes later) they said they could make it happen. So much for trying to meet reasonable deadlines, much less impossible ones. But, FedEx Office could only do it in 10 hours, and I thought that the 2 extra hours saved (poster session I wanted to be at) would be worth paying $ 110 more (quoted at $ 180 for a 34″ x 44″ poster vs. $ 70 at FedEx).
I arrive to pick up my poster and they are still berating me for being too last minute. Guess what, I work 18 hours a day and sometimes things get pushed off a bit — isn’t that the whole point of meeting impossible deadlines? Even worse, they made an error printing my file and there was a huge black area that was not on the original PDF. Since I asked for it to be «rushed», they didn’t send me a proof to check, and they said that they didn’t look at my poster after it was finished. Well then what do you need 8 hours to print it for? Anyway, they said it was my fault that they made an error since I didn’t look over a proof, and if I wanted to have it fixed, I needed to pay another $ 180 to print a whole new one. First off, how is it my fault that I need something in a rush? What happened to the customer being right, or meeting impossible deadlines? Finally, after talking to the manager for 40 minutes I negotiated it down to $ 90 (half price), which I still feel is extremely unfair but I got tired of arguing and had work to do. They printed it correctly the following morning, although they needed more than 17 hours to do so (again, so much for meeting impossible deadlines). Overall I think these people are unprofessional, I would recommend traveling to print your poster at Bloomberg School of Public Health (well worth the Über ride compared to these people, they can deliver on much tighter deadlines) or just using FedEx Office (if they print your poster incorrectly they will reprint it for free while you are standing there). As a small business owner I really liked the concept that this company would deliver as fast as they could with passion and a high quality product, but left extremely disappointed.

I had a job that Kinko’s messed up right before I needed to travel from Boston to Baltimore for a conference, so I had to get the whole thing reprinted at the last minute. I decided to try a local place and found Curry through Unilocal.They were wonderful! Completed the job the same day, and everything looked great! (It was a whole batch of color prints on card stock.) Plus the employees were really nice and extremely conscientious.

I do not know why no one has offered to write a review for Curry Printing yet — but here goes: I travel all over the country managing my company’s trade show program and part of the process sometimes is getting posters or collateral printed up in a short time frame due to last minute changes.
That being said, I usually use a local Kinkos/​FedEx and up to this point haven’t really experienced any issues. I submitted the print job to FedEx like I usually do, three days before our show opened and was told by the local Baltimore office that they would have my job delivered to me prior to show opening. Show opens, no posters. Day two: no posters. In the meantime, FedEx is just stringing me along telling me they had to outsource our job, it’s too large to handle, we’ll have everything delivered to you in a few hours… well, nothing was delivered.
I had an event last night that I HAD to have my directional posters for as well as our symposium posters. With three hours to spare, I found Curry Printing on Google Maps, called and spoke with Danyell, emailed her the files and with an hour to spare before my evening event, I had the posters in hand! Who could ask for more? Quick turnaround, great communication, and wonderful follow through. Awesome!
