History

Established in 1952.

Has always been an Exxon gas station with four service bays. Complete tear down and renovations were done 21 years ago. Open under new management in 2007 and have stayed steadily busy through word of mouth only.

Took my car in for a broken water pump that needed to be replaced. The shop owner quickly replaced the part — and also did a full inspection of the vehicle noticing issues, and potential issues that a nearby BMW dealership had missed on a service visit just before the water pump failed (within 1,000 miles). Excellent service, great attention to detail, and a fair price.

Cross Keys Exxon did a great job on my recent car repairs. The owner took the time to show me the old parts that had been replaced and to explain the problem. He also recommended some future maintenance to consider if I plan to keep the car for a while (my car is an older BMW) — but without any pressure to have the work performed. They have a BMW technician on staff.

These guys are the best — good work, fair prices, honest people and so friendly and helpful. I have gone back several times for different repairs and always satisified. I’m very skeptical about trusting mechanics, especially as a woman, and I feel very comfortable with them.

I would say this is an above average mechanic shop in terms of honesty and customer service. The boss, Mike, is very polite and willing to show you the repairs needed.
The MD state inspections are $ 79, which is higher than I’ve seen at most places. Compared to a place like
, the parts are marked up about 400%. If I were to get any major work done here I would buy the parts myself and give them to these guys to install.
Like most service centers associated with a big chain in the city, you’re not getting off cheap. However, I would choose them over a place like Brooks Huff (which has been dishonest about car repairs to me in the past) or Sears.
