Crazy Ray’s Autoparts

I’m going to have to knock these guys down a notch for, well… just being dicks.
Just went there today, looking for miscellaneous parts for my «fleet.» Apparently, the cars I’m taking care of are all just too damn safe and reliable. Out of the SIX crs I might be looking for parts for, I found TWO examples, total.
What I DID find was a good-​condition JVC KD-​R740BT radio, with harness, and with microphone. No remote. I can buy this on eBay for between $ 30 and $ 100, new in the box, all components, instructions, and with (at a minimum) eBay’s warranty. I’ve also purrchased a similar unit through Craigslist for $ 25, with at least a «guarantee» that it would work (and it did).
But to be fair, that’s all immaterial.
Crazy Ray’s asked me for $ 33. I thought it was worth $ 20 (sitting out in the weather, car was in a fiery accident, etc.), so I counteroffered. The guy behind the counter said no, and so I said, «OK, then. Here. My gift to you,» and I gently handed it to him. Really, I did.
MY assumption (foolish me) was that they could place it on the shelf nearby, and probably sell it in 30 minutes or less, to someone who valued it more.
Instead the guy THREW IT TO THE GROUND, thereby rendering it useless. Doesn’t hurt me. Hurts them.
So…thanks for being dicks, Crazy Rays.
Oh…and I would say: These guys really DON’T like to negotiate!

Visited at 4:15pm on December 8,2013. You pay $ 1 to get into the yard. Paid $ 2 for me and my friend. Found out that my friend had paid also. Two minutes later, I tried to get my dollar back from the clerk and she began to yell at me in front of a crowded room as if I had spilled hot coffee on her! Really? This is customer service? More like petty theft with an attitude…
Overpriced auto parts. 2 stars only because the selection is pretty good.

This junk yard is pretty awesome! Even if you don’t need anything, its still fun to walk around in and see what all is in there. We stopped by because I have always been curious about this place. It costs $ 1 to go in and walk around. It is totally worth your $ 1! I wish I was good enough with cars to really appreciate a place like this.
So we walked in and I think they are probably the most organized Junk Yard I have ever been. They have the cars sorted by type. The vans were on one side and the sedans were on the other. We were on the hunt for Tacomas. Unfortunately there NONE. We saw one T-​100 that was completely picked apart. I guess its a good sign for people who own Toyotas… people hang on to them! There were plenty of Dodges and Fords… as to be expected.
We also saw that they had a bunch of classic cars in there as well. Also, very picked over. I guess if you were restoring one, Crazy Ray’s would be a good place to stop by and check.
Don’t even think about walking out of this place with any part without paying for it! You definitely get inspected on the way out.
