Crazy Ray’s

The inventory is not up to date on their website. I drove 45 minutes to find the car is not even there any more. What a joke. There are other junk yards that are much more organized and have their crap together. I would try other junk yards or auto part stores before you make the trip to Crazy Rays. Most junk yards will be able to give you some help over the phone or even find the part before you make the trip.

I was desperately trying to sell my clunker and after getting the run-​around from Craigslist buyers I finally threw up my hands and decided «to hell with it, let’s just go with Crazy Ray’s». So I called and said «I’m ready to sell my car» and the response on the other end was «Good for you». Do you want my business or not?
Of course I didn’t get what I expected but they picked it up two days later and called before they arrived.

Good for picking parts, not so great at having a car picked up. Being told «Ah sometime next week, between 10 and 6» isn’t very helpful.

First time for everything. I saw a commercial on television on Saturday stating that you can get up to $ 400.00 for any car that you can drive to this destination. I had no idea on what I was going to do with my car. The car was old and had many miles on it and the work that needed to be done was not worth the money when they could not guarantee me that nothing else would go wrong.
Don’t wear your best clothes here because this is one dirty place. To be expected though because it is just a car lot. I arrived before noon on a Sunday thinking this place won’t be crowded. Well, I guess others had the same intentions. The employees were not bad. They helped me and another customer did make me aware not to cancel my car insurance until I have my receipt for turning in the tags. That was good to know because I sure didn’t know that information.
Well, I it was my turn. License and title please. Yup that’s all I needed. They filled out paper work and I went to the counter to receive my cash.
What I didn’t know is that I was responsible for taking off my own tags. Thank goodness I had a friend with me to do that piece of work.
Not a bad experiene. If you need to get rid of a car and it is driveable this is a great place to take it.

Here w/​my bf getting something for his work van. This is my first junk yard that I’ve been to but I think it’s pretty neat considering. Vehicles are in rows and the rocky aisles are free from obstruction. He found what he needed and a lot of ppl were pulling parts so I’m assuming they did too. FYI Not a good date spot. Lol

Pretty solid place for some of easy (and not so easy) fixtures for your vehicle, if you don’t mind a bit of leg work. Basically you pick what you want, and pull. Yourself. Don’t be afraid, as it’s not that hard, and you might get help from the staff.
Most of the cars there are American. The nominal cars of Baltimore (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Caprice, Taurus, Town Car) are in abundance. A solid number of parts from imports as well. Anything exotic and/​or English (ex. Cadillac) you’re probably out of luck. (At least at this location.)
