It’s fast food… what do you expect? I got a #7(double fish sandwich) My boyfriend got a burger(wasn’t paying attention to which one) and the half pound nuggets. I can only speak for my food so… it was fast food haha. Sandwich looked nothing like the picture. Was alil funny but good. Fries were good. And soda was, well soda. Service was fast and cashier was friendly enough for Dundalk. I’ll probably be back. Maybe order chicken this time since right now the food is starting to give me the BGs.

Checkers is one of my favorite fast food. They used to be super super bargain but I guess after inflation and gains in popularity, their prices came up to parity. But that still doesn’t deny them of some of the tastiest fries in the business. As I get older, the salty gooey sloppy messy burger-ness that they serve has become a little less appealing. This location has always been on par and sometimes above… Once, I’ve had food that wasn’t ready fast, and was hand delivered to me in the parking lot with a free soda as a courtesy for the wait.

The burgers are actually pretty good. The value menu gives you decent cheap eats. The only thing that puzzles me is how anyone remembers where they are. You have to pull into the Eastpoint Mall parking lot and find them tucked in the corner behind Staples.

Why oh why did I do it? This is the perfect place for the late night Saturday cruising when you just aren’t quite ready to go home. You’re also not just hungry but trying to fill some kind of insatiable hole in your world that only big greasy bad food can fill. Anyone over 30 on their BMI or that doesn’t know what that means knows exactly what I am talking about and don’t pretend that you don’t. I guess the fact that they double everything is a first clue. Secondly anything that can be stacked, covered in more calories or coated with something makes the menu. There are absolutely no healthy choices to be had so don’t even bother. If that’s what you are looking for go elsewhere. I had something called the Big Buford(745 calories X 2 I know now). Two reasonably fresh and tasty patties, some kind of «american– like» cheese(it was a melted structureless mess so I couldn’t tell, but it had that vaguely waxy and chemical taste of cheese that comes in sheets that can sit out on the shelf for awhile. There was pickle, yes 1small round pickle slice. There was a partial leaf of lettuce(maybe iceberg it was too small to tell the variety). They was frackin’ delicious! I ate them both and then went and took a shower. I couldn’t look at myself in the face in the mirror Sunday morning. I am going to the gym after work today… at least the bag is in the trunk.

This is one of my occasional indulgences when I’m looking for something quick to take home. With checkers you have to know that they do some things very well and some things not so good. the good : Chili dogs, their hot dogs are spot on, smother it with cheese and chili and eat with a knife and fork. The Wings,(only bone-in for me) are decent with honey BBQ. The burgers, the non regular menu item that’s usually at this location most of the time is my favorite, the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Its got to be on the feds controlled substances list. The shrooms are in a sauce that’s dark, thick, savory and delicious all melted with the Swiss cheese smothering the double burger,. very good. The Big Buford Burger will satisfy the most hungry. The bad : The fries are coated and just have too much. something, spice, salt, starchiness, I’m not a fan of coated fries. The chicken tenders are OK but not with the wing sauce, they should use non seasoned/coated for wings. the desserts are not good, the shakes are over processed and taste terrible. The apple pie is forgettable. the service at this location is not the best, it seems to have improved a bit the last 6 months or so. Drive through and go, or park and sit outside if its nice.
