Waffle is a standard waffle for the most part(though delicious), but they do a great job with the chicken tenders. Not too much breading, good buffalo sauce, good value. As other reviewers noted, they also offer sautéed veggies and shrimp and grits, which are both good. Service is always great.

My family and I went to Charm City Wings & Waffles after leaving the B&O Railroad Museum. To say everything was good is such an understatement! Everything was AMAZING! From the shrimp and grits, the chicken and waffles(the red velvet waffle was incredible), the buffalo wings, etc(we had a big party), everything was great! We even got to meet the owner. He was extremely personable and made us feel right at home. We will DEFINITELY be coming back and would recommend this gem to any and everyone(though I would love to keep it to myself!) P. s. They have complimentary cupcakes on Saturdays according to the owner! Nice touch! ;)

I really love this place– the food here is amazing! I’ve only been there for take-out/lunch since it’s close to my job. The food here has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve had the chicken and waffles, the fried chicken platter and the buffalo nugget platter. The garlic butter on top of the broccoli, corn and potatoes are amazing! The yellow rice they give is very good as well. My favorite so far which surprised me is the buffalo chicken nuggets– I usually like having bone in chicken but tried these and I really enjoyed them which traditional mild buffalo sauce. Lightly battered fried chicken with a thin layer of sauce which is to my liking. My only thing keeping it from being a complete 5 stars is the service/wait time. I call in usually cause I only have a 30 minute lunch break and they always tell me 10 minutes but when I get there I usually wait an additional 5 – 15 minutes for my food. Also– they gave me the wrong food one time. I’ve only been there a total of(3) times so this is concerning but doesn’t take away from the deliciousness of the food. I will definitely be back– I want to try all the sauces and at least go there and eat for brunch.

Was empty when I came in which was surprising considering the reviews I’ve seen. To their credit, service was super speedy and my takeaway was nice and hot. I ordered the 5 piece and waffle with a side of garlic parmesan. Was expecting mind blowing greatness but waffle was a normal waffle and the«tenders» were more nugget-like than anything else. All in all four stars for decent service and decent food.

I came here with my friend after a Raven’s game after seeing it nearby and the pictures on Unilocal looked awesome! When we got here is tried to order the wings but unfortunately they were out. So I asked what else were they out of and they said that was all. So cool I ordered the chicken nugget platter and my friend ordered two tilapia platters. However a few minutes after ordering they informed us they only had enough for one. Kind of made me give a side eye since I did ask but I guess technically they weren’t out yet. When we got our food to go into asked for some of the lemon pepper sauce to go. I’m thinking she was going to grab it and we would be out but no I stood there for a solid seven minutes. Yes seven. Five doesn’t give it justice and ten is too dramatic. Anyways after all of that I told my friend this food better be amazing! I’ll give it to them everything was definitely good. I’ll be back to try some of the other menu items as well. That is if they have them!

Charm City Wings & Waffles, also known as CCWW, is located in Pigtown and offers a brunch and lunch menu, as well a catering option; items include Chicken and Waffles, platters, salads, lunch specials, Buffalo Wings, Chicken Nuggets, and sides. The hubs and I shared a Grilled Chicken Platter, which came with a side of steamed broccoli, mini corn on the cob, and boiled red potatoes, all tossed in their garlic butter sauce. The Chicken seemed more like baked, and it had a nice little skin; they were super meaty and were set on top of yellow rice. I was a fan of their veggie sides, as the garlic butter sauce was yummy! I also tried their Shrimp & Grits, which happen to be one of their specialties. The grilled shrimp were deveined and seasoned wonderfully — the grits were more on the sweeter end, even though the optional shredded cheddar cheese was added. Service was super friendly, and there are some limited tables to dine-in. I’d like to come back and try out their buffalo wings and their homemade sauces. Just note that on Saturdays, they have complimentary wine and cupcakes served all-day! +grilled shrimp +steamed veggies with garlic butter sauce +friendly service

3 piece chicken with waffle for $ 8. Added 2 sodas for a total of $ 11. Not cheap but not too bad for somewhere right next to an NFL stadium. The chicken was extremely good. Breading was great and crunchy and went well with the syrup smothered waffle and powdered sugar. Each come in their own container which lets you mix and match how much you want from each. Came with utensils, napkins and butter/syrup. Added hot sauce on everything and it came out great for lunchtime. The location is good but parking stinks. If you can find a spot grab it ASAP as the whole area is a bit down on parking. I cant wait to head back and try some wings(the other reviews make them sound delicious).

I LOVETHISPLACE! A+ service every single time!!! Do yourself a favor and get the red velvet chicken and waffles… With a side of Parmesan garlic sauce! I know that sounds kind of strange/heart attacky but oh my god, soooooo good. You will go to sleep immediately after but it will be one of the best meals you’ve ever had. On Saturday mornings, they have free wine, orange juice, and cupcakes. What??? AMAZING!!!

Man. Oh. Man. Like. Amazing! Honest to God the BEST chicken and waffles I have ever had in my life. My daughters and I were on our way home from North Carolina and decided to stop in Baltimore for dinner. I came to Unilocal to see what was up. This was high on the list so we decided to check it out and how happy was I that we did. The restaurant itself was small but well put together. We ordered from a lovely staff member who was not only very knowledgable and more importantly very patient with my girls who were a bit restless from the drive that wasn’t even halfway done. We sat and shortly after out came out food. I’ve posted pictures. The waffle and the chicken were cooked to perfection and the taste was out of this world! We also ordered shrimp and grits which were amazing. The best I’ve certainly ever had! We’ll definitely come back if we’re ever out that way again. Bravo!

Watch out Gladys in Atlanta, Georgia, Baltimore is doing chicken and waffles right. I’m so glad I found it. My boy and I just happen to pass by and I caught it in the corner of my eye. I couldn’t say bye, so I had ta stop and give it a try.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes! I’m not even from the real south, and chicken n waffles is one of my favorite brunch dishes. So needless to say I have some high expectations for this cuisine. Charm City Wings & Waffles gets 5 stars from this gal. This unassuming carry-out stop is a portal to true bliss. You may be overwhelmed(in the best way) by your options. I opted for the 3 piece fried chicken with a plain waffle, and requested the Bmore and Pigtown sauces on the side. Both sauces were on the tangy, slightly spicy side, but this fine establishment considerately puts butter and syrup in your take-out box to hit all those taste buds. Also, they give you separate boxes for the chicken and waffle! That may seem like a minor point, but trust me, you want them separate to preserve their respective deliciousness until you’re ready to get your nom on. In conclusion, this is the best food decision I’ve made this week! I know I’ll be back for more. That red velvet waffle had me drooling.

We came from Philadelphia for a Medical Convention and the end of the event a couple of our friends were looking for a good place to eat. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. As we entered, I can honestly say that it looked homey. We had Chanel, who was an absolute amazing young lady, she explained the menu to us and we ordered a custom Jerk salmon over rice with grilled chicken and crab cake on the side. ABSOLUTELYAMAZING !!! The food was cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing. She also brought us some homemade sauce and it really complimented the food. All in all definitely coming back !!

Seriously Awesome! Came here before an O’s game for brunch when we were looking for something a little different than the local bars. The table was hungry so we ordered the mellow yellow wings and the suicide wings. Both were delicious! The suicide were standout in that they had amazing flavor and the spice stood out, but wasn’t killer. My brother and I split the chicken and waffles & the shrimp and waffles. The shrimp was super yum, perfectly spiced and grilled. The waffle by itself was light and exactly what I would expect from a place with«waffles» in the name. There was something pretty stellar in combining a bite of the chicken with a bite of waffle with some of the hot sauce on the table and some syrup. Starting to drool a little just thinking about it. Our service was also top notch. Our service was a young relative of the owner(who seriously had the best handwriting I have seen in a long time!) and he was attentive and working hard. I respect his work ethic and general aura of awesome. Can’t wait to come again before another game!

Holy cow! I mean chicken. Yes, holy chicken. Delicious and crispy. It was my first time here and certainly won’t be the last. The service was great. Our waiter was the owner’s young nephew and he was awesome. Our food was brought out fairly quickly and he also explained the menu in great fashion. The food was spot on. The original waffle was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Mix the chicken with the waffle, syrup and hot sauce that’s on the table. Perfect. The wings are also tasty as well. We had the mellow yellow(tangy mango) and the suicide. The mellow yellow was a good mustard mango flavor. The suicide was spicy and flavorful, but not overkill. Will definitely go here again before orioles games.

I made the mistake of calling ahead to make reservations but they said it wasn’t needed and to just come on in. When we walked in we saw why because it’s literally 4 tables. Oh goodness was it good though! The boy serving us was about 12 but i really appreciated his work ethic since I too helped with my families business from a young age. He was helpful and attentive to us. Thanks to him we enjoyed everything! Definitely a great choice!

Tip: Don’t bother calling the business, they don’t pick up! I’ve called a few times since the beginning of last month trying to place a order for carry-out. The phone # listed on Unilocal matches the # on the menu & in store though. I finally ended up walking to the business to order the famous chicken & waffles. It took 5 mins to get my order. If you’re not a big fan of heavy breading, then you’ll definitely enjoy the fried chicken! The chicken is moist, crispy, and lightly breaded… just right. I am definitely a fan, I’ll be back to try the red velvet waffles and platters. My dog is also a fan, he can’t stop begging for more chicken & waffles!

Ordered the 3 piece chicken and waffles and also an order of fried shrimp with a lotta sides. The chicken and waffle was delicious, the chicken was kind of bland but the waffles was soft, fluffy and light. Just right. Poured a little syrup and some hot sauce and it was on. Heaven. The fried shrimp was a little salty. The sides included rice pilaf, corn, potatoes and broccoli. This is a good size meal and it is fairly priced, $ 10. Looking for good southern comfort food, this is the place. Don’t miss out if you’re in Baltimore. Can’t wait to come back.

Paid a visit to Charm on my last 2 visits to B’more and I will most assuredly be back upon my next visit. Yum! This place is the ultimate embodiment of savory and sweet! Prior to visiting B’more for the first time for work, I had never even heard of such a theme, but I have now come to learn it is a bit of a local comfort food, and for very good reason. If it sounds like a strange combination, I can assure you it is far better than you would expect. On both of my visits the large, Belgian style waffles were piping hot with a tab of butter melting over the top, and piled generously with equal parts of fresh strawberries and blueberries. 3 hot wings(more like chicken tenders really) dotted the exterior and I dug in ravenously. This place is the spawn of Satan if you are trying to watch what you are eating, but it is worth an extra half hour of cardio because it is so delicious. I am a much more infrequent visitor the the greater Baltimore area lately, and that is probably a good thing for my waistline. I do not think I have the willpower to resist this place.

I’ll give this place a 3.5. When I saw that there was a 4.5 rated chicken and waffle place in bmore, i was super excited! So my friend and I hit this place up for brunch on a sunday. However, I was a bit disappointed. I got the red velvet waffle and 5 piece chicken. The waffle was a little dry. The chicken was pretty good, but it was boneless tenders, which is usually drier than full chicken wings(with bones). The price was also little high for what I got. the service was chill and nice though. Overall, it was a pretty good meal, but the waffles and chicken were a bit dry. DISCLAIMER: i ate at roscoe’s chicken and waffles in LA this past summer and that was AMAZING so… … maybe this place is a 4.5 for the east coast, but definitely not on the west coast. I would like to come back to try some other things though.

I just came here for dinner and it was really good! They were short staffed so didn’t have the platters but they had the chicken and waffles available which was the most important part! Waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chicken pieces were crunchy and the meat itself was really moist. Really, really good! They serve it with hot sauce and maple syrup, and little containers of margarine(would have preferred butter). Overall, great place! They were a bit slow in business so closed around 7:45pm so make sure you call if you’re getting there right around closing time.
