I’m usually good at researching companies before doing business with them but I fell short on this one. Kevin and his assistant were both completely unprofessional, dismissive and unapologetic. I wish I read the Unilocal reviews before I purchased a living social deal but I tried to support a local business and one in my community.
After waiting almost two weeks to speak with a manager, Kevin called me back after the promised time informing me that there would be an additional $ 20 fee applied because I lived in an apartment building. They provide me with times that were inconvenient for me (only offering 11 – 3 M-​F while I’m gainfully employed and his assistant suggested I call off from work) and wanted to make up fraudulent charges. Stay clear

My initial appointment was given a window of 11 – 3. They asked that day if they could come early and I said we had to stick with the plan. I called them after 2 p.m. and they told me they would be there right around 3 p.m. At 3:25 p.m. they called and said it would be closer to 4 p.m. So after I gave up 4.5 hours sitting around waiting, we had to reschedule.
They came today and in addition to the Living Social, I had to pay $ 39 for each stairway, $ 25 extra for a tiny hall, plus $ 29.99 for the deodorizer (which they had told me on the phone would be free due to my inconvenience from the original date.) The thing that REALLY irked me was that they added a 6% charge for using a credit card to pay that they claimed «All» their customers know about. Um, I was a customer, too, and NOBODY at any time mentioned a 6% credit card fee. He said I could use cash. Who keeps $ 150 cash laying around these days?
Also, he recorded the charge for my base package as $ 99 and the living social as $ 99, when really the «promotional value» was supposed to be $ 141. So it seems I paid full price.
No more carpet cleaning «Deals» for me.
Edit: I added a second star because the carpets seem pretty clean. I just prefer transparent and clear pricing.

Stay away, unless you like to waste your valuable time. This company cancelled on me same-​day, within 30 minutes of my scheduled appointment time. I was told I’d be called back with a resolution. Well, I’m still waiting for that phone call… It’s also extremely hard to reach anyone on the phone (on both phone numbers listed). I called twice and left two voicemails to have another service added, and never heard back from anyone.

we went with the original date of wensday that we talked about .Even though we don’t usually sevice Fredrick Maryland we came 55 miles to clean 2 rooms for $ 39 and waived your travel charge for you to go on Unilocal and lie and say we didn’t show up is ludicrous. Next time we will stick to our normal service area because people like you don’t appreciate our time or efforts I will post a pic of your contract since you said we didn’t show up after a hour and 20 min drive for $ 39 and we were only 20 minutes late because of traffic. You had a 12 ton appointment they arrived a little after 4 and the techs called and gave you an arrival time.

When I called on Monday I requested any day before thursday not same day service. You told me you would be in Frederick on Monday anyway so you would schedule me for monday. Then your people called me after the scheduled appointment and said since the person in frederick canceled they wanted to move me to Saturday. I explained I was looking for service by Thursday then you rescheduled me to Wed. I wrote my original review at 5pm an hour after my scheduled appointment. They miraculously showed up at 7:15pm when I was told between 12 – 4 so they were 7.5 hours late to be exact if anyone is lying it’s you about false arrival times. Secondly, your groupon price was $ 39 so if that’s an issue since you quotes coming so far for that you should change your groupon price. I have no problem with the guys who did the carpet work they were very nice and did a great job. My problem is with the customer service and scheduling. I missed 2 events I was supposed to be at wed because I was expecting the promised time to be 12 – 4 and it didn’t happen until after 7 and I think potential consumers should beware of this when doing business with you. Your response also shows the lack of professionalism of your business.

I would love to give this place a five star review. I really do. There’s nothing better than supporting local businesses. However, it’s kind of hard to do so when you didn’t even receive a phone call or any kind of notification that your appointment was going to be rescheduled, or even worse, not serviced at all.
We had our first appointment set two Saturdays ago from 12 – 3. Come 2:30pm, we haven’t received any calls. So my husband calls the shop and tells them of the no-​show. The guy on the phone gives us his sincere apology (and I do believe that it was sincere) and rescheduled it for last Saturday from 9 – 12. Saturday rolls around, and the next thing we know, it was 11:30 with yet another no-​show. We didn’t even bother with calling to notify them of the second no-​show because at this point, it’s up to the business to take the initiative to let their customers know of any and all scheduling conflicts, cancellations, or reschedulings.
Maybe we’ll give this place another try in the future, but we luckily got the deal from Amazon, so a refund is an easy phone call away.

This is in to reply back to Kevin. You called at 05:15pm, arrived at almost 6pm, and was done in 20 minutes. You did not do anything for Free. You said you would charge us $ 150 to do the pet treatment and my husband told me, and I said no. You said well if we decide to get it done, $ 150 is our price for next time for the inconvenience. All you did was shampoo the carpet, which your company did an excellent job on. But to get on Unilocal and lie like this is extremely unprofessional. You did not have to pick up any feces and you did not offer anything free for arriving almost 2 hours after our time slot. I should not have to call your office to get a update on the whereabouts of the technician. A business is suppose to contact the customer and provide me with updates if they’re going to be delayed. My appt time was from 1−4pm. I shouldn’t received a call at 5:15pm. Your 20 minute service was great, however your customer service is awful.

First off, let me say that the carpet cleaning wasn’t bad. There were stains that I was pretty sure wouldn’t come up (and they didn’t) and the technicians were very friendly. The three stars is based more on the experience I had.
I found this company through Groupon and paid $ 100 for the entire house not including stairs, those were an extra $ 79 for 2 flights.
I scheduled the appointment and they gave me a window of 12 – 3 and said they’d call 30 minutes before arriving. At 2:30 they called and said the technician broke down and someone different would be there at 4:30. At this point I was frustrated but they offered me free deodorizer for the inconvenience so I let it go. The technician finally arrived at 4:45 and they walked around the house and told me they’d be about 45 minutes. About 15 or 20 minutes into it their machine stopped working, so the technition had to stop and fix it, which took almost an hour. At this point I was more frustrated as I had basically wasted my day. They got the machine working and started cleaning the carpets. They finally left at 7.
The carpets look okay, like I said there are still some stains that I wasn’t expecting them to get up. And the service guys were really friendly. It was just a pretty frustrating experience overall.
