Our original plan was to hit Blue Moon Café before leaving Baltimore, but a friend told us that there was a new, larger location that was closer to where we were staying. This was the perfect way to end Baltimore!!! We ordered the 2 dishes they are known for– Sweet Baby Jesus(lump crab, cheese, eggs, hash brown, and hollandaise sauce) and the Captain Crunch French Toast– they were both AWESOME. We also ordered iced and hot lattes– Zeke’s coffee, very good. The power went out while we were there, but thankfully our food was already out. The staff was amazing and checked on us regularly and did not charge us anything for breakfast since the registers were down! We dug around in the car and found 3 dollars for our waitress, we felt terrible that we didn’t have more to give her. Thanks for the amazing breakfast Blue Moon Too!!!

This a very busy and popular place for breakfast. The dining area is open and many tables for small and large groups. It’s loud and it doesn’t help with the background music; it was sometimes are to hear someone who’s siting next to you. They’re known for their Cap’n Crunch French toast and Sweet Baby Jesus. I didn’t go for either. My friend got the SBJ and only finish 2/3’s. It’s quite a plateful and the crab chunks were huge. I opted for the eggs Benedict with sausage(patty) and chipped beef. This wasn’t on the menu. They pride themselves of the homemade creamy chipped beef, so I wanted to try it with my eggs. If you ordered the traditional eggs Benedict, you can add meat. The waitress was surprised about the order and was happy to take it. Another waitress brought it out and she, too, was surprised about it. It was good and filling. Want to add that their espresso was made well with crema. I’ve been to fancy places back in NJ that couldn’t even deliver a perfect crema. So kudos to you Blue Moon. I would recommend this place for brunch! We arrived around 9:30 and only waited for about 10 min for 3.

Great omelets and biscuits. Skip the normal breakfast fare(pancakes, etc– overpriced and underwhelming) and go for the more exotic offerings. Beautiful and fun interior. Service is friendly, but slow and scatterbrained. Don’t come here if you’re on a tight schedule.

After living in Baltimore many years and driving by people who wait in front of their original location in Fells Point everyday, I finally tried their Captain Crunch French Toast. It was pretty amazing but I won’t wait in line for it. This location in Federal Hill is bigger and I haven’t had to wait so far. I make my husband order something savory(G&G scrambles) and it goes so well with the french toast. Definitely try their Captain Crunch French Toast — perfect balance of nutty and sweet flavors!

So we’ve been to the original Blue Moon but weren’t up for waiting 2 hours so we decided to give Blue Moon Too a try. We weren’t disappointed… try a 15 min. wait on a Sunday morning. Much bigger spot same great food. I had never tried the Sweet Baby Jesus before, mostly because I’m not a fan of hollandaise sauce or lots of cheese, but with all the hype I decided to give it a try. THEBESTBREAKFAST I EVERATEINMYLIFE! Succulent hash browns topped with tomatoes, lump crab, eggs the way you want it(I chose scrambled), smothered in cheddar cheese and hollandaise sauce, topped with a sprinkle of Old Bay. Why does this work??? I don’t know but it does. The portion size is HUGE and they are not skimpy on the crab meat. Culinary perfection well worth the $ 20. Will definitely be back!

Capt’n crunch french toast was as good as the others say and a great price! $ 12.95. The fresh berries really complimented the doughy bread. The server also came over to us because she saw us looking at a map and gave us her opinion of activities to do! Thank you!

To begin, my wife and I are foodies. We cook most of our own food and are extremely selective of where we eat out. We have found some of our favorite places in NYC, CT, and other cities we have visited, and have just been introduced to Blue Moon Too. We have good friends in Baltimore and visited for a few days of relaxation and rest. The first day we decided to have breakfast, at their insistence, at Blue Moon Too. We went early-ish(before 9am) because we had four and ½ in our party(their wonderful 1.5 year old son). They love this place for him, because the amazing pancakes enthrall their little one so much that they can have a nice sit down breakfast. A rarity with a 1.5 yr old. So there’s your biggest endorsement, pancakes that will quiet children of all ages(like me) and also captivate a 1.5 yr old. If you need more reassurance that Blue Moon Too is worth a visit, read on. Upon entering, I loved the décor. It felt like I walked into a Tim Burton inspired restaurant, with Beetlejuice and classic rock art on the walls. We were seated right away, and quickly found a high chair for our littlest dining companion. My wife ordered chocolate chip pancakes and I ordered eggs, biscuits, and gravy. Our friends ordered the veggie scramble and caramelized fruit pancakes. It’s hard to get biscuits and gravy wrong, but I didn’t know that they could be done so RIGHT! Two Huge Biscuits that had the perfect consistency, with an egg layered on top with cheese and sausage gravy. Right next to that was a pile of pan fried hash browns, perfectly crisped the way my wife likes them. I was raised in the Southwest, so home fries were never a favorite of mine, and I rarely get good hash browns. My wife, introduced to them in NM, loves them. So she traded some CC pancake for some of my HB’s. After having one bite of her pancakes, I had to have another. They were the perfect combination of fluffy and dense, and slightly sweet, and didn’t need syrup. So if you make a trek to B-More, make sure you set aside time for a great breakfast!

I love the original Blue Moon on Aliceanna St. but seating is hard to come by at that location. When I found out about Blue Moon Too from other Unilocalers, I knew I had to give it a try. My husband & I went for breakfast on a Thursday morning around 7:30am. We had no trouble finding street parking right around the corner(across from Cross Street Market). It is metered but cheaper than parking in a garage. We went in and found a very quirky, hipster space with only a few other people dining inside. We were told by the young man at the counter to sit wherever we liked. Which we did. He brought us water very soon after we sat down and we didn’t wait long before our server approached us. I wish I could remember her name because she was really nice without being fake and not overbearing at all. Very easygoing. So anyway, she took our order and I went to the bathroom while we waited. The bathroom was as eclectic as the rest of the space and quite clean. I liked the wallpaper but I can be weird like that. Our food arrived promptly. My husband & I ordered the same thing: The Full Moon: 2 pieces of Cap’n Crunch French toast(TODIEFOR but my husband said he preferred when the cereal pieces are whole like they are at the original restaurant) Cheddar cheese scrambled eggs(which were PERFECTLY cooked) Bacon(I loved it but my husband said it wasn’t crispy enough; I like my bacon like that though; we both agreed the flavor was good). I also ordered a side of hash browns(which I felt could have been crispier but they were good). The only thing I will say is with breakfast food, it never stays hot enough but not the fault of Blue Moon Too, just a fact of life. I just put my hash browns over my eggs and kept it moving. When our server saw this, she complimented me on the combo. After we finished our meal, we went to the counter and paid and our server actually took our money. My husband asked about the décor of the restaurant and she told him about how local artists painted the pictures and they were even for sale. I really liked her vibe and demeanor. She told us the employees get to chill out at a table where the picture window is before they open, which makes the atmosphere seem even more chill. The place is hipster but the employees are not snarky about it; they realize that they are in the service industry and act accordingly. So many places these days act like they are doing YOU the favor by giving you what you pay for. I’m happy to report Blue Moon Too is not one of those places. I’m already talking to my husband and some other people about going back…

Great Captain Crunch French Toast! Just like their original and this place has so much more space!!! Their biscuits are good(dense, moist and soft) and so are their potatoes. Thought their omelette was just OK and their potato pancake was hair OK too– the flavor was good but it was a bit soggy and not as crunchy as I prefer!

Good breakfast spot and the wait doesn’t tend to be as bad as at their sister spot in Fells Point. The food is just as good and the hostesses and servers are really sweet and accommodating. The omelettes are really good. I have yet to try the Captain Crunch French Toast that they’re known for and everyone raves about — but I’ll get there. I’ve only had breakfast items, but I hope to get there to try some other stuff soon.

My Baltimore trip with my husband turned into finding cool and different places to eat. We are soo glad we made Blue Moon our last stop before heading home to NY! The signature breakfast is the captain crunch French toast which we HAD to try and it was delicious! It was a large portion so I could not finish it. My husband got his own breakfast but shared in mine too. We also tried their homemade cinnamon bun which was also delicious! Just all around a great atmosphere and good food. Will come back if we are ever in town again.

i love Blue Moon’s Cap’n Crunch french toast & even have tried my own rendition of it at home. Blue Moon Too gives you the awesomeness without the 2 hour wait time. Thank goodness! I had stopped going because of the wait time. I loved the décor as well. Goth style and french toast keeps it interesting every time. The staff is always friendly and attends to tables frequently. Plus its always nice to venture out to Federal Hill.

Well, Blue Moon is my favorite breakfast place in Baltimore. I grew up in b-more and still have family that lives in the city. We’ve been several times to the old location, but normally have waited for hours. Blue Moon Too only had a 10 minute wait until our group of four was seated at a great table. The speciality of the house is the Cap’n Crunch French Toast. In my memory from a few years ago, it was great. BUT, somehow eating it again managed to BEAT my expectations. While the new location does not necessarily have the same character as the original(which was pretty much inside the owner’s house), it was still a great experience.

I’ve heard great things about the original Blue Moon Café, but every time I try to go I’m not willing to wait the long wait times. I happened to be in Fed Hill and stumbled upon Blue Moon Too and had to stop in! It was a Sunday around brunch, so we thought that it might be hopeless, but they had space and we were directly seated! We ordered the normal French toast, which was really amazing. It was soft and cinnamony and overall a really solid french toast. We also got the Garden Egg Platter, which was also amazing. I was super starving so that might’ve played a role, but this was veggie heaven! Copious amounts of broccoli, onion, mushroom, egg and cheese mixed in with hashbrowns. The crunchy texture of the hashbrowns combined with the soft melted cheese, eggs and veggies was truly amazing. The biscuit that came with the meal was really fluffy and flaky with a delicious homemade BlackBerry jam made with whole blackberries. The service was really fast and you take your check and pay up at the front. Speedy and efficient, but not rushed! Definitely coming back here to try the Capt crunch french toast I keep hearing about!

There was a bit of a wait on Sunday morning but it was worth it. The atmosphere is awesome. Bright blue striped walls, a galaxy ceiling, crazy artwork lining the walls. It was such a cool place! It makes sense it’s super popular with amazing reviews. I had no regrets after indulging in the famous cap’t crunch French toast. It was massive and absolutely delicious. It wasn’t saturated in cap’t crunch but you could still taste the cereal. Along with a heap of whip cream it had strawberries, Apples, bananas and blueberries, which was great. The only downside: they don’t serve alcohol but it’s BYOB! So just plan accordingly. The staff was super friendly and made sure coffee and waters were full. Food did take longer than expected but then again, it was a Sunday morning. A side of bacon was 5 $ which I thought was somewhat pricey but it was extra crispy the way I like it. Overall I was full and happy when we finished our meal. Def recommend

Okay so this was a hard review to make. I’ve visited the original Blue Moon and was really looking forward to the much larger space at Blue Moon Too. I went with 12 of my coworkers and the space accommodated us easily, so that’s a plus. After being convinced by the waitress to order the highly popular special Sweet Baby Jesus, I decided to order it. It was just okay. I never had the combination of eggs and crab meat before, and it turns out It’s not a good combination for me. Perhaps it was my fault for ordering it, so I don’t want to be critical. It wasn’t nasty, it just wasn’t a dish for me. Maybe the $ 20 price tag influence me as well. The staff was really friendly and the place looked really nice, and if you get there early for breakfast, parking is easier to find and its free.

I was visiting Baltimore and someone recommended the Captain Crunch French Toast. Hella worth it. I ended up getting the Full Moon Special with the Captain Crunch French Toast upgrade and it was hella good. Mainly the powdered sugar and the french toast make the dish — the fruit’s pretty but it’s all for looks. Just slap some maple syrup on there and it’s like heaven in toast form. The slices of toast aren’t really that big, so you can definitely go for a full stack and still eat more if you’re really hungry. ALSO, the fresh squeezed orange juice was some of the best I tasted. I showed up at around 8am and there was plenty of seating, but it did start to get full around 9am, so I do believe that there would be wait later on in the morning. Staff and service here was great. No 5 star because although the food was good, it didn’t blow me away… the sausage and eggs were aight — just your normal fare, and even the toast wasn’t anything extraordinary(though it was really good). But definitely would come back, and definitely would recommend to others.

Ever since I saw the construction and signs saying that Blue Moon was coming to Fed, I’ve been anxiously awaiting for it to open! I haven’t been to the Fells Point location, so I can’t make the comparison, but breakfast this morning was delicious! We came in on Friday morning around 9 am and there were plenty of tables available, but as we sat there it quickly filled up. Blue Moon doesn’t take reservations and this place has quite the reputation so I would be prepared for a wait, especially if you come in on the weekends. I obviously had to order the Cap’n Crunch French Toast to see what all the fuss was about. And I was so glad I did! It really did taste just like the cereal. The french toast was served with bananas, blueberries, strawberries, apples, whipped cream and topped with cinnamon and powdered sugar. And it was sweet enough that I didn’t feel the need to add syrup. Just a heads up – the Cap’n Crunch French Toast is actually $ 11.95(the price isn’t listed on the menu for some reason). Service was good — our waitress checked up on us frequently and kept the coffee flowing. And as for the atmosphere, it was quirky and cool. Anywhere that has Edward Scissorhands and the Joker themed art on the walls gets an A in my book.

Sweet Baby Jesus! this place is good. I’ve had time pleasure of visiting this new location and the original location in Fell’s Point during visits to Baltimore this year. While exploring my sister’s new neighborhood she pointed out that this new location had opened and we all knew that we had to go back and check this place out. This location is more than double the size of the original. The décor is blue and moon and festive. The staff is friendly and accommodating. On my original visit I tried the Sweet Baby Jesus and boy is it good. The perfect combination of crab cakes in a Benedict. Today I tried the Mexican omelette which was phenomenal. It was spiced to perfection and came with a biscuit(which I recommend!) and a side of homemade jam. Others at the table tried the Captain Crunch French Toast and Pumpkin Pancakes(on special). As the meal went on, the restaurant became incredibly crowded with several people waiting for seats. Our waitress got overwhelmed so I can see how they might want to consider more staff for the Sunday morning breakfast rush. Overall Blue Moon sure does know how to do breakfast right! Now if only I could convince them to open a location in Pittsburgh! But until then — I’ll be back!

This is located on Light St in Baltimore, a few stores down from ‘Blue Agave’ and just North of Cross St Market. I know they have a location in Fells Point(IIRC), but I’ve never eaten there, so I can’t make a comparison. First off, the interior is AWESOME. The pictures they have up, the paint, all of it comes together to create a seriously unique feel in the restaurant. I’ve gone in twice now, and everyone greeting at the door is very friendly. I went for lunch with a friend and we got a table off to the side. The menu(I posted pictures if you want to see it) is difficult, because literally everything looks great. I’d need a couple dozen trips to try/see everything before I could make a decisive choice about what I’d eat. This time I went with the Salsaritos w/Chrorizo(eggs, hashbrowns, and salsa rolled up in tortillas), my buddy got the Mexican Scramble. His came with a choice of bread, to which the waitress said«you want the biscuit, trust me»…it was a good call. Mine was great, and huge. The hashbrowns were still crunchy despite being wrapped in a tortilla. If there was anything that I would have liked, it would be a side of salsa or enchilada sauce to add to the burritos. I’m sure I could have asked, but I didn’t. My only complaint was that the strawberry they garnished with had mold/fuzz on it. It’s not a huge deal, because those things spoil weird(sometimes only one goes bad in a whole box), but when plating they should have caught that… considering it was fuzz up on the plate. I brought it to the waitresses attention, and she apologized. My buddies food looked great, and he said it was delicious… but also a ton of food. That biscuit though, amazing! It had cinnamon or something mixed with the dough, so it had a semi-sweetness without that sharp taste of sugar. The blackberry compote they served with it was also fantastic. I’m not normally a chipped beef guy, but if it’s going on those biscuits… I think I’d give it a try. The service was also fast and very friendly. I’ll definitely be going back to try more things off the menu. But get there early in each service(bfast, lunch, etc) because it tends to fill up!
