Nice buffet on baltimore street. I especially like i can see all the strip clubs out if the window.
This is my go to for salads when im trying to eat right and also my go to for everything else when i have no clue what i want to eat i just know i want something.
Their salad bar and hot bar never looks old and i never find a time where they are super low on any options which i appreciate. They also have a grill you can order sandwiches and subs etc. A lot of seating for you to grabs and multiple registers to get you in and out in a hurry.
Gourmey food this is not but regular lunch option that wont cost you and arm and a leg you are in the right place

Lots of choices, including Boars Head products. Very friendly staff. Great if you’re in a rush. Come earlier (I’m here 50 mins before closing) for softer rolls

While it’s great to have many options, as well as having the food already ready when you walk in the door, I have to say I was unimpressed. I had a large spoonful (maybe two, but probably not) of fried rice, a few pieces of orange chicken, and a little bit of chicken/​broccoli. While waiting at the register I spotted some Linden’s butter crunch cookies (which took me back to my childhood) so I grabbed those, too. My total? $ 8 and some change. Needless to say, I was confused at why such a small portion of food (I promise it was small) and a package of cookies cost so much. The taste of the food wasn’t great, either.

Good selection of foods but i don’t think if it worth it how much they charge customers $ 6.89 per lb. They also sell food such as cheese steak w/​20 oz soda and small chips for $ 6.79 plus tax which was a good deal, the restaurant is clean and employees are nice!

The food there is not worth the price that they charge for it. The ONLY good food that I had there was the sushi.

Nice breakfast and lunch place. They open at ⁶⁄₆₃₀ am prices are reasonable. Check them out.

Been living in this area for three months and my neighbor told me about Big Apple. Finally went to pick up lunch to take home and it was really good. Did the hot and cold bar. Lots of choices, American, Asian. Then they have a made to order sandwich bar made with Boar Head meats. Lots of choices on the salad bar and everything really fresh. Stand out was the Tarragon Chicken salad. Yum. Everything I tried was really good. Since I am so close this will be my lunch take home hangout.

…For those of us who can’t make up our mind about where to satisfy that unknown craving…
Plenty of yummy variety on the buffet — fresh fruit and salad essentials, prepared salads, cold and hot pasta selections, meat, sushi, etc…
Portion sizes (determine cost) are essentially up to you. Additional options — daily specials, selected menu sandwich w/​chips and beverage — can be ordered at the counter. Order turnaround is quick and painless even when there’s a line. Friendly staff too. Great overall place for carry out, for eating alone or among a group.

For lunch with a bunch of friends or colleagues, you can’t pick a better place. It’s got every kind of food you could want and the ability to please meat-​eaters and vegans alike.
Now don’t get it twisted: this place ain’t fancy. It sort of looks like a glorified college cafeteria, but so what. Sometimes it’s worth sacrificing ambiance for fabulous edibles… especially at lunch time when you are pressed for time.
In the interest of getting this baby weight off, I stuck to the salad bar (which was expansive!), but the cooked veggies, pasta, asian cuisine, and good ‘ol American goodies looked fabulous as well. Definitely give this place a go!

I passed this place a million and one times over the many years I’ve frequented Downtown for work and otherwise and only recently did I realize it was actually open for business. I guess I passed at odd times because it always appeared closed from the outside. I just started working closer to the Inner Harbor and pass it on my way in now which allowed me to see that people were going in and out so I gave it a try and now i am a huge fan! Breakfast is my fave and I’m not usually a breakfast person. With the omelet selections at the buffet and the sausage, etc. I was like WOW! From there I stopped in to get something from the grill. Egg whites and turkey sausage is my go to and they do it well. No egg substitute and it’s always good, cooked to order and super fast. To top it off the people are extremely courteous which is an unfortunate rarity these days. This alone makes me want to give my hard earned dollar up every now and again. Oh, and the salad bar and fruit are always on point. I Sometimes grab my salad and fruit for lunch while getting breakfast. I can’t believe I let this place slip by me all this time.
If they did a little something to spruce up the outside, they would probably have sales through the roof because I’m sure others, like me who only came and went Downtown, may not realize that they are open because the windows are pretty dark but well worth it once you find out.

Quick, tasty, and cheap. Can’t beat that on the lunch hour. Big Apple keeps a nice variety of fairly fresh, quite flavorful buffet items, both hot and cold, ranging from a full salad bar with all the fixins’ to expansive hot food buffets stocked with nomnoms ranging from marinated chicken breast and roasted vegetables, to barbecue spare ribs, tempura, and lo mein. Something for everyone. Big plus: the staff is incredibly good-​natured and helpful. Only downvote: the greens in the salad bar have seemed limp at times. I work down the street, so I like bringing my favorite greens from home and swinging by the Apple to amp it up with some savory chicken, roasted peppers and mushrooms. Check it out for a quick lunch next time you’re in the area.

Love, love, love this place. I rarely give 5 star reviews, even for 5 star places but this place makes me so happy lol. I discovered this on my way to work one day. I work in harbor east so I usually go to Whole Paycheck for breakfast and they have a very limited hot bar (and expensive).
This place has so many options I have literally stood there debating if it was time for me to checkout. You just don’t want to miss anything. They have different types of french toast, pancakes, breakfast meats, omelets– just everything. And the prices?! I have never spent more than $ 4 on a delicious and filling breakfast (not including a drink– which they have a HUGE selection of). Thank goodness this place is out of the way for me or I would go everyday.

Set up is buffet style and you will stand in the aisle wondering what to eat. It’s OK, you feel as stupid as everyone around you trying to figure out what to eat as well.
5 tables of servings from around the globe! Asian, southern, Caribbean, fresh fruit, a magazine stand of chips galore and more than enough drink fridges. In addition, they have a prepared section where you can have a sandwich, etc instead of picking from the buffet with one of your 3 size plates.
They DO weigh the food to charge, but I think its a good idea since they make that much food of variety all the time. Plus, 1lb is about 7.60, why should you eat more than a POUND of food for lunch?!
After paying, relax in the comfortable padded seats and look out the tall windows into downtown. You will loose track of time and catch the food itis (slang for sleepy)

Love this place the girls behind the grill are always polite and the food is always good. Great fruit bar and plenty of food to choose from.

If you are hungry, you’re in luck because Big Apple Tree has a lot of food! But if you’re hungry, you might not be in luck because the food can get expensive really fast: P
Came here for lunch. Having not had dinner the night before, I was starving. I suppose it was a bad idea to come to a buffet where you pay by the pound (~ $ 6/​lbs) … everything looked good and I wanted to try a little bit of everything. Before i knew it, I was paying $ 14 for my food and a soda. hahaha.
Big case of my eyes being bigger than my stomach. Fortunately, this means I really did get to try a little bit of everything and pass on my tips to you! So here goes:
Vegetable Lo Mein — Pretty standard stuff… no complaints here. It can hang with all the other fast food chinese joints. I liked it.
Spicy chicken noodle — Very flavorful… it was spicy but not over-​the-​top spicy. Good amount of chicken thrown as well. My only complaint is that the egg noodles were overcooked, making it a little mushy. But i’d probably get it again.
California roll — yeah. i love sushi so sometimes (especially at buffets) I get sushi even when it obviously does not look like good sushi… I dunno why I’m so attracted to it… it’s kind of like how bugs are attracted to those zapping/​killing light things except with me and sushi (and no death). Anyways… this was the case today. I’d pass. Unless you are like me.
Polish sausage — very large sausages. A bit salty and very greasy. Lot of grilled veggies though!
Ribs — sweet, firm-​textured yet still tender enough to fall apart fairly easily. I’d get this again.
Orange Chicken — pretty generic fast-​food take out Chinese. Very sweet and had somewhat of a mushy texture. Will do if you’re craving Chinese… I’ve had worse from actual Chinese take outs…
Pepper steak — tough and salty. Not a big fan.
Collard greens — good collard greens. I love collard greens… I prefer mine a little more flavorful but these were respectable.
Buffalo chicken wings — wasn’t as spicy as I’d thought it would be… maybe even a bit sweet. Meat was overcooked and tough though. Somewhat greasy. I’d pass.
Honey chicken wings — a hint of sweetness. Slightly crunchy skin but mostly soggy. Not bad but not great either. I’d probably pass next time as well.
Grilled Chicken — solid chicken. A hint of seasoning on it. My drumstick was for the most part moist and well-​cooked.
Turkey — was cooking in its juices. However, depending on what you got, the turkey was either dry or soft and juicy. Yeah it was kind of weird but if you see it, you’ll probably understand. If you get the juicy part, it’s actually quite good.
Sweet potato — not really sweet enough for my preferences. Pass.
That’s about it… there was a very attractive salad bar and some dessert as well… maybe next time!
Probably a nice place to swing by for lunch when you want a variety of foods. Not great but not bad either. The workers were friendly and the seating area, though kind of haphazardly arranged, is pretty clean. Price is reasonable… as long as you keep an eye on your plate’s weight! (For what it’s worth though, the $ 14 i spent was enough food for lunch AND dinner).

Tie a big feed bag on. Big Apple Tree Café’s a weigh it & pay it buffet attraction. Joint draws allegiance from nearby offices crowding Baltimore’s easternmost Central Business District as well as nearby BPD.
Breakfast buffet ($ 5.29 lb) gives generous sums of omelets, potatoes, sausages, pancakes, et al kept hot. Bacon & cheese omelet good. Full of bacon. Agreeably gooey cheese. Blueberry pancakes more thick than fluffy. Definitely filling. Tater tots crunchy outside, tender inside. Add your own salt. Link sausages a buffet winner. Tasty. Downed eight.
Hot lunch buffet ($ 6.29) boasts big mashed potatoes sans big lumps. BBQ ribs doable in a pinch. Turkey succulent in it’s juices. Fried chicken wings a-​ok. Baked chicken moist with much oregano. Enjoyable. Collards flavorful.
Expect a yin/​yang mixture of satisfactory to surprisingly gratifying buffet grub.
Nothing had’s been over-​the-​top. But nothing’s downright depressing. Keep in mind this ain’t the Waldorf Astoria’s Bull & Bear and you’ll do fine.
On the whole, good buffet fare in a spacious, friendly environment designed and built to feed downtown Baltimore’s busy «get your grub n’ go» glitterati.

Great salad bar. Always fresh. Hot bars look good and fresh. Large selection of drinks. Grille and Deli. Haven’t been disappointed yet. My favorite spot for fresh fruit.
