Belvedere Veterinary Center

My previous review was deleted because it didn’t contain enough content or detail so here we go. I took two rescue kittens to see Dr. Burton in March on a Saturday. The initial visit was fine, the staff was pleasant the facility was clean and that sums up the positives of my experience. I dropped off stool samples the following Tuesday morning and left a VERY detailed message with and was told that I would have results for one of the tests the following day and another on Thursday. First thing Friday morning I called and was informed by the young lady that answered the phone that one of the kittens had a parasite and that Dr. Burton would call me. I was getting ready to leave work and called back and expressed my unhappiness that I still hadn’t heard back. I was put on hold and actually had to hang up because I couldn’t wait any longer. Dr. Burton called shortly after that. She gave me the information I needed, told me to pick up a RX from them (something I could have done on my lunch hour if I had known) but they were closing shortly. I asked her if she received my message that I left on Tuesday to which she replied «I don’t work on Tuesdays.» She knew that I was unhappy and I decided during that phone call that I would never take them back, and I haven’t. They blamed the delay on the switching of computer software. I didn’t realize that changing software stopped people from returning phone calls. I emailed and asked for my pets records and have moved on.

I recently moved to Baltimore and was dreading finding a new vet for my two rescue kitties. I read great reviews for BVC on Unilocal and decided to try them out when one of my kitties developed a mouth abscess. I absolutely loved working with Dr. Amstalden — she described what was going on with my kitty physiologically, which I appreciated since I have a biology background. Thor was also such a pleasure to work with. I can tell he really loves working with animals and treated my kitty like she was his own. The BVC facility is really nice, clean, and pet-​friendly. The prices for visits and lab/​blood work are on the more expensive side, but the service is outstanding and totally worth a little splurging.

We’ve been so happy with the care Dr. Elianne and all the staff have given to our rescue dog. He has a rough past, and has a few issues. Dr. Elianne is patient and totally willing to get on the floor for the exam, and has so many other tricks to soothe him and get the treatment done. I find their prices to be competitive with other local vets (I’m sure there are some that are cheaper, but not sure I’d trust them) but BVC’s facility and customer service are unsurpassed. I think at least half of our neighborhood has switched to this vet since they’ve opened up down the street. Excellent care and convenient location, can’t be beat!

I LOVE this vet. Everyone who works there is kind and caring. I’ve tried a few vets in the last 12 years, and Belvedere is by far the best in and around the city. I couldn’t be more enthusiastic!

We recently rescued a 2-​year old mix breed and this was our first visit to establish overall wellness and update his shots. The facility is beautiful, Dr. Elianne and Thor were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. As we have to return in a couple of weeks for some booster shots, I wish the overall cost were lower.

I took my dog here based on Unilocal reviews. Bad decision. I was extremely overcharged, charged for services I didn’t ask for, and didn’t get treatment for what I initially came in for. I specifically asked to have my dogs ears cleaned. This did not happen. I give it 2 stars opposed to 1 because it is a nice facility and reasonable medication prices. It shouldn’t have cost over $ 300 for a checkup.

Recently moved to Baltimore and was searching for a new vet for our cat, who got sick just before Christmas. Since it was somewhat of an urgent situation, I didn’t have that much time to do research. The reviews for the Belvedere Veterinary Center were good, so I took a chance. I am happy I did. The staff is extremely nice, and this is by far the cleanest vet’s office I’ve ever been to– it looks and smells very clean, and has a quiet and serene waiting area– good when your pet is already anxious about new places and other animals. They fixed up my kitty’s problem and followed up to make sure he was on the mend. They also seemed genuinely interested in my cat and took time to talk with me about him and his health, diet, and habits. It’s so refreshing to get great customer service in addition to knowledgeable care. The prices are reasonable– in fact, slightly less than what I paid at my old vet. In addition, they have a free parking lot in the back… a big relief as schlepping an 18 lb. cat is not fun!

We just moved here a few months ago and I was very concerned about finding a vet that I liked. I finally made an appointment here and I could not be happier! Very clean, great front desk, and, then, there’s Dr Elianne. Friendly, knowledgeable, calming, and fun — gave me some great tips on healthcare for our dog. I was very comfortable here and the cost of our visit was surprisingly reasonable.

I recently adopted a dog from the SPCA and found Belvedere Veterinary Center on Unilocal.I was very pleased with the service I received. The front desk staff, Thor in particular, were so kind to my dog as we waited, petting her and making her feel comfortable. The vet and vet tech were both very knowledgable and helpful, answering all of my first dog-​mama questions. The pricing was reasonable and they were able to give me affordable tips on dog care. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reliable, reasonably priced vet with great bedside manner and care!

We brought our 2 cats here for general wellness checkups and vaccines. They were both long overdue for checkups, but are thankfully very healthy. We’d recently moved to the area from out-​of-​state and I found Belvedere Veterinary by searching on Unilocal.I picked it because of the good reviews and it’s very close to our home. I was hesitant at first because I usually prefer to go to vet practices that serve cats only just because dogs in the waiting room tend to make my already terrified cats all the more freaked out. We had a great experience with Dr Burton, the front desk staff, and the vet tech who assisted. They spend lots of time with us, were very friendly and gentle, and seemed to care a lot for the animals. The office was clean and spacious and well-​organized. I would recommend this vet highly and I think my family members are also going to start bringing their cats to this vet for a more personalized experience.

I moved to Baltimore in the summer and dreaded having to find a new vet. My 8 year old ACD mix is a rescue who does not trust strangers and does not like being approached or touched by strangers very much either. Her last vet was very patient and helpful and really helped us out when it came to having to get Raina to comply with what needed to be done.
I saw that BVC had great reviews and was close to my home so I decided to make an appointment. The vet tech and Dr. Amstalden were super helpful. Although Raina did not like getting touched at all they were patient and told us exactly what to do to keep her distracted and comforted.
It is not often that I can find a vet so thoughtful and caring and we appreciated the extra time that Raina needed just to get comfortable. I really enjoyed the care that we got and look forward to her next visit.

I was referred to this Vet by a friend of mine who takes her dog here. I also was happy to use the credit voucher offered by Unilocal too! We just moved to the area a few months ago and our dog was past due on her annual exam. I didn’t want to go to a Vet Hospital/​Practice, as they tend to be more $$. So i was glad we found this place and its very close to our home also. Dr Amstalden and her staff were very helpful and kind. Dr Amstalden asked a lot of questions, was able to give good advice and instructions on certain conditions my dog is dealing with and even followed up the next day to check in and see how Lucy was doing — as she received a few shots. I’m going back in 2 weeks for her booster shots and am glad that its something I’m looking forward to. As I think Lucy is too, everyone there really enjoyed her and commented how well behaved she was :)

We just moved to Baltimore after living in South Africa for 4 years. My 10 year old rescue dog has multiple issues that need ongoing supervision and I was interested in connecting with a vet right away.
I found Dr. Elianne and the Belvedere Veterinary Center on Unilocal and the practice lives up to their reviews. The staff is incredibly friendly and was very good with my sometimes skittish dog. Dr. Elianne was very thorough in her assessment of my dog and worked with me to come up with a plan to manage his heart murmur in a way I could afford.
Just today, I needed a last minute vaccine in order to board my dog for Christmas. I called and even though they were fully booked, they worked us in and saved our travel schedule. This was only our second visit today and yet we were greeted by name as we walked through the door. This «special treatment» was something I had received from my wonderful vets in Tucson but I had been going to them for years. To get worked in on the same day in only our second interaction was unexpected and highly appreciated.
Nice little touches such as fabric covering the metal examining tables, follow up correspondence that prints out the key notes from our conversation etc, really shows that they care about my guy and and his comfort.
I have worked in animal rescue for years and met many dedicated, talented vets. Dr. Elianne has those qualities plus runs a very professional practice in a beautiful facility. Highly recommended.

We are so happy we switched to this practice. We used to take our dog and two cats to one of the bigger vet practices in the area, which for some reason is often recommended, but in reality is a pretty assembly line place that gets you in and out but not much more.
Finding a vet who takes time with your pet and truly seems to care has been amazing, and we finally got a real solution to an allergy problem that hadn’t been properly diagnosed or treated for years. Not only that — she actually follows up to make sure things are going well, and remembers what’s going on with your pet.
Scheduling has always been easy and we’ve gotten in when we need to without missing work. It’s a solo practice so we have had to wait at times — though not always. The office staff have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dr. Almstaden is an amazing, caring vet who I highly recommend to anyone looking for more than just vaccinations.

Great place that sincerely shows interest in your pet. The vet was personable and very detailed in her examination with Jackson. Definitely a great find…

Dr Amstalden has been our vet for many years. There’s nobody else I would trust my dogs with. About a year ago, she opened Belvedere Veterinary Center, and the place is amazing. Because it’s new, everything is state of the art and immaculately clean. All of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
