Baltimore’s Child specializes in providing information to parents in the Baltimore metropolitan area through a monthly magazine titled Baltimore’s Child, and our website www.BaltimoresChild.com. In addition, we have a website for teachers, scout leaders, youth ministers and others who work with groups of children — www.MarylandTeachersGuide.com — which highlights local field trips, enrichment programs and other resources for learning in Maryland.
History
Established in 1983.
Baltimore’s Child was founded by publisher Joanne Giza after a discussion with her pediatrician that centered on the fact that there was no central information source for parents and families in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. With a loan from the doctor, the first issue was printed in March, 1983.
