At Baltimore School of Dance, we offer small classes so that we can give each student individualized attention to teach them all the techniques they need so they they get the most out of every class. Whether they are looking to dance recreationally or pre-​professionally, we offer classes for ages 2 through adulthood from absolute beginners to professionals in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, belly dance, flamenco, hula hoop dance, isometric stretch and strengthen, Pilates, and more.

A full service dance studio with a state-​of-​the-​art facility, our teachers go through extensive training and have the the highest dance qualifications. All registration can be done online through our website, and you can try out different genres of dance to figure out which one fits your style. We also offer a trial period. Whether you are a beginner adult or are interested in a dance career, we encourage you to come with us on an exciting journey.

History

Established in 2001.

Formerly, The School of Synergy Movement Theatre, Baltimore School of Dance opened for class on September 11, 2001 in the director’s small home studio. Then it moved to a local church basement and finally to our own space in Hampden. We believe in supporting the community and perform for free at local events such as the Mayor’s Christmas Parade, Honfest, Artscape, and more. We also have free classes for the community during National Dance Week! We also have a scholarship program for serious, dedicated students who cannot afford intensive dance training.
