Al Packer White Marsh Ford

I bought a top of the line. After I got home realized I had no tire jack I asked for it and it was given the run around. I let it go but after spending $ 52k I wasn’t given any good customer service. This is the worst place to get service done. An oil change takes no less then 3hours. Save yourself from shady customer service and DO NOT SHOP HERE!

I bought a used (2013) pickup truck from Al Packer. Online it was advertised at 25k miles and single owner, but they had given it to one of their employees to use as a daily driver and it was now over 30k miles. That wasn’t something I was thrilled about, but they put a new set of tires on as compensation. I told them that I wanted the 30k mile service included, too. After all, I was originally trying to buy a truck that was under 30k and they were the ones that put the miles on it so I didn’t feel I should pay. The truck had to be inspected before it could be sold (another disappointment, leaving after buying it, with no truck to show) and the sales rep agreed.
After confirming that they were doing the 30k service again the next day, I picked it up that evening and went on my way. That night I found out that they changed the oil and topped off a few fluids but did nothing else towards the 30k mile checkup. So now I’m going to have to spend a few hundred dollars doing maintenance that I was told multiple times was going to be done by the dealer.
The truck is great, the financing was easy, they were in frequent contact during the process, some times a little too pushy but not bad. The truck only came with one key and they refused to make another unless we paid for it which is their prerogative but has gotten the «really?» response out of everyone that hears the story.
In short — we love the truck, just wish that we had known what we were getting from the start instead of misinformation (mileage) and lies (not doing the service).

I wish I could rate them zero stars. Bought a car from them and they blatantly lied to me. Was told because I was military I would get considerations from my finance company that didn’t happen. Didn’t get the military rebate, and was led to believe that I was getting the x plan pricing and… didn’t. Finance people were assholes, and I’m stuck now with a car that’s about to get lemon lawed. I hate my car, hate the dealership I bought from and I tell everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. And with the exception of Steve in service, their entire service department sucks. Knew I should have avoided them when I saw the celebrity endorsement.

I hate this place. Everyone here is super unhelpful. I’ve had my car for two weeks and I hate it already because now I have ties to this awful dealership.

It’s a shame I can’t give zero stars.
DO NOT GO HERE. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. We made the mistake of buying several cars here. Every time we do, they present us with a survey, begging for a good review for customer service, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Our latest experience is the nail in the coffin for us. We bought a 2016 Explorer from them at the beginning of August. It is STILL not in my driveway. We traded in two vehicles and paid cash for the balance of our vehicle, and were told we could take delivery on the Explorer about two days later because it had to be brought in from New Jersey. It took a week for them to actually give me a straight answer that the vehicle that we had already bought and paid for had already been sold to someone else! When we went to ask for our money back and to get our other vehicle back off their lot so we could go to a different dealership, they offered to special order me one. I agreed. What a mistake.
When we took delivery of the new vehicle, there were imperfections in the clear coat. We were told we could bring it back for warranty work, and it would be all taken care of. We waited a couple days, because we needed our vehicle. They took pictures of the damage, agreed to fix it, and we left it with them over a week ago. It is still not done. My husband went to go pick it up today, and it looks worse than it did when we dropped it off! Not only that, but they tried to tell us it was our fault! He is still there right now, arguing with them to actually do the job right. I’m not going to hold my breath though.
Not only did we spend a decent amount of money on a vehicle with them, they can’t bother to stand by their products or their service! Absolutely, positively never again. And that stupid survey? The one that we lied on for the last two vehicles, because we didn’t want them to «get into trouble?» Yeah. They can totally forget that!

Labor Day weekend is supposed to be the greatest weekend for buying a car. Not quite so with these Al Packer Ford in White Marsh, Md. We started quite early in the morning, test drove an Escape. The young salesman, Jarrett Judy, was waiting for a person who was purchasing a mustang to come in. He was cordial, allowed us to test drive the vehicle that we wanted. We had checked the sales price on line and when questioned the salesman said that the price was correct. He stated that he needed the title for our trade-​in, we agreed. He had several appointments and it was already getting busy, so we made an appointment at 4:00. We show up and he’s with another client… ok. In the meantime we heard one woman who was totally pissed off because she said that their salesman totally talked around her, addressing only her husband even though she was the one paying. Then another lady who was complaining that the price they were now quoting wasn’t what she was told originally. That is when the alarms start going off in your head, right?
We asked to drive the car we picked out one more time, while he finished with his client. We finally got his attention after about 15 – 20 minutes waiting. He goes to get the keys, and informs us that the car was sold. Yeah that’s right… We were stunned. We had an appointment and the title of our car as was asked. He was somewhat harried and gave a lackluster apology. He said to go look and see if there was another one we liked and he’d make it right. 1. There wasn’t a comparable car. 2. Of the 2015 one was Orange… not happening. 3. The closest was a step up in one of the colors I wanted (Black/​White), it had more than I wanted or wanted to pay but HE was going to make it right-​the next day because he was still with his customer on OUR time. Folks we are still waiting… My husband called him in the morning, oh he comes in at 12:00. 12:00 comes and goes…3:00 my husband calls again. Now he hems and haws about how the price on the internet is not real and how he can’t sell us the car for that price. Bait and Switch… stay away… and steer clear of a Jarrett. My husband was told Scott Rippy was the general sales manager who has yet to return my husband’s call… I was told Bill Crumley is the sales manager. Who is the real sales manager… God knows. Just Stay Away…

I can’t rate the dealership itself, but I did use the service department and was extremely unsatisfied. I made an appointment at 8 am so I wouldn’t have to wait all day to find out what was wrong and four hours later they still hadn’t even gotten to my car. I had to wait another two hours to have them only tell me that they hadn’t had enough time to actually know what was wrong. I made an appointment that early specifically to avoid this kind of problem. If you want quick and efficient service on your vehicle, I would not recommend going here.

I can’t tell you where to go to buy a Ford in this area, but I can tell you don’t go here. Their «internet price» is a complete lie. When I finally managed to get someone to get me the real price, it over 20% higher that the listed «internet price». The employees are seemingly universally unhelpful from top to bottom. Overall, it was just a terrible experience. Go somewhere else to buy a Ford. I know I am.

I’ve always had love-​hate relationships with dealerships. IF you are able to find a great independent mechanic that specializes in your vehicle, make and model, then you are very fortunate indeed. On the other hand, if you are like the rest of us, bringing your car that you depend on is like playing roulette… sometimes red, sometimes black.
I’ve been coming to Al Packer’s for several years now. Originally, I came to have them do an insurance claim work on my vehicle. Now I bring my all my Ford based cars here for just about everything. I know I’m not getting a basement bargain rates (but the rates are very reasonable especially with their rewards rebate), but I leave with the confidence that my car will be looked at and repaired by solidly trained technicians that know (or should know) my vehicle. And on the off chance, that they miss the mark, what’s even more important, is that I have the confidence that I can come back and they will make it right.
My experience with Al Packer service department is pretty tops… The guys there have been 95% ultra professional and friendly. My favorite guys are the Quick Lane managers.
I did buy a used truck here, and the experience was «ok». I told them not to pull my credit and they did, then they pulled a switcharoo on my loan paperwork. I suggest you have your financing taken care of before shopping… I would have normally, but this was an impulse buy, unfortunately.

It cant get any worse. I bought a car 6 months ago brand new. The car was advertised online for a certain price, but like most dealers no one ever gets all the discounts. They told me over the phone and email that I would get most of them and trade in assistance. They had me waiting around for hours before getting to finance. I did not find out anything about discounts or trade in value until then. They gave me 3000 under KB value after telling me I would get better than the value. Then I only got 1 discount on the car that they tried to leave off final sales sheet. I had test driven the same car elsewhere, so I did not test it there. When I got in the car, it had 300 miles on it. I found out why later, joyriding in the mustang. They must of taken a corner too fast and popped the valve on a wheel. The tire leaked a few days later and light went off. They must of filled it up and parked it after the damage.

Recently i was in the market for a new car and after visiting several dealers for different cars in the area, by far, and i mean by far, so much so that this dealer wasn’t even close, this was the worst dealer experience that i have ever had. I have never felt so unwelcomed an unappreciated as a potential customer as i did at this dealer. On top of feeling that i was being pushed into buying something from them after repeatedly telling both the sales person and the sales manager that their was no way i was buying a car that day. The sales guy seemed more interested in flexing his muscles, drinking his muscle milk, and texting whomever, than he was in to even attempting to sell me a car or at the least show me the features of the car, which he didn’t at all. Didn’t even go with me on the test drive, or even ask to go with me on the test drive. I probably could have drive the car to Philly and i am not even sure they would have noticed. And then their was the manager who seemed to be more interested in me making his quota. Sorry guys, you not making your numbers aren’t my problems, and the bs about your gonna give me the best deal now at the end of the month didn’t fly because i got a better deal for a more loaded car from a different dealer, after the first of the month. Other issues, they never contacted me back, so maybe they were smart enough to know that they let a potential customer walk, and when i did by a car i used TrueCar which did send a quote to Al Packer, which when i responded to the salesperson about that inquiry, well it got bounced. Maybe this is where Joe Flacco likes to get his Fords but their are enough Ford Dealers in the area to easily just avoid this one.

Dishonest, high pressure sales tactics… All the bad car sales people stereotypes you will find here. I bought a new Ford truck a few years back. At 38 years old, this was my first ever new car buying experience and it was horrible. There was a few issues I saw such as badly scratched rims (very expensive 22″ rims), small dent on drivers door, and some other minor issues. The manager directly told me all would be taken care and made like new. I asked if they were giving me new rims or simply polishing the scratches out, he replied «I’m giving you new rims, I wouldn’t do that to you». After getting home and looking at the rim in bright sunlight, you could see where the rim was buffed and polished and definitely not new. On top of that, I could see there was still a dent in the drivers door and didn’t shut right. they had simply covered the flaw with paint and didn’t actually fix the dent. I bought a car for my wife a year later and probably would have gone back to by her car there, but we went elsewhere and had a much, much better car buying experience.

I tried to purchase a car based on the price listed on their own website. When I tried to purchase the car, the sales person (Patrick Hutchins) quoted me a price ~ $ 4000 higher and gave me some bogus line about how I didn’t qualify for certain incentives. When I did the basic math, the incentives I didn’t qualify for only added up to half of the difference. When I asked for additional detail, he stopped responding my email. I went online and left my contact info, explained my experience and asked a sales manager to call me back. No one called… best to avoid this type of dealer in the future…

I spoke with a salesperson on the phone about a vehicle I was interested in and he assured me that all I would pay above the price advertised was taxes and titling.
After talking at length with another Ford dealer in my local area, I emailed Al Packer twice to ask for a breakdown of how they calculate the discounts they advertised and received no reply. I also asked them for clarification of the comments section of their website;

It appears from other reviews I have read that the price you see is nowhere near the price you pay with these guys, and once you educate yourself and ask them direct questions they are not interested in getting back to you. Funny how they called and emailed me twice yesterday without any problems.
I suggest people also check out their BBB rating, not that they are BBB accredited but that also makes interesting reading.
I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

ZERO!!! I was sent an email asking me to come in and look around. I responded about how I was scared to go because of all the bad reviews and they assured me they are working hard to make them right. When I got there around 8pm I was given the dumbest salesperson ever!!! He knew nothing about the car. I knew way more then him! Skip to talking about prices about leasing info… Still he knew nothing, wouldn’t listen to me, told me there is no way I would find the car I want for what I want to pay for it. They would not even haggle with the price at all! They wanted me to pay full retail. They were ignorant and showed no customer support at all! They rushed me around and didn’t even take me serious! I asked about leasing and he told me that was dumb and I should just buy… Worry about the customer not what u prefer!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! Now if they call me with a good price I may consider to buy cause they are close but never again! Stupid employees!!!

1 Star only because I had to. The advertised price of the truck that I was interested in was great. That is where it ends. I spoke to 2 different salesmen. Neither would listen to me or knew very much about Ford products or how to do their jobs. The sales manager Richard M. uses math on the logic of 2+2=6. The advertised price of 32K was nearly 38K after he was finished for a truck with an invoice price of 37k and 4500 in rebates. He would not budge and told me how I was wrong. I ended up buying a truck with the same specs from Koons Ford in Sterling for 33K.
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!

My grandmother was a car sales individual her entire life, so I grew up at the Koons Ford located in Annapolis MD. Al Packer White Marsh is way below par the standard for car dealerships, in terms of their customer service.
My mother a couple months back decided to purchase her first NEW car, she decided on a 2012 Ford Explorer. Already the car is experiencing issues, minor issues of course. lights out, satellite radio issues, blue tooth issues, etc. etc. etc. the list really could go on. She bought a «warranty» from the salesman to ensure that there would no issues, since my mom works in the city and knows there are bound to be issues with the car (scratches and such). She has taken the car to Al Packer, quite a few times, and they don’t seem to want to take care of the issues, and find ways around the «warranty» they told her would cover everything.
Now, just recently I took my car to be fixed due to an accident I was in. They told me they would need it for 10 days. I thought 10 days was a long stretch of time, in itself. Well… 14 days later and I am still without a car — talk about slow service. It is apparent that the dealership does not care about their patrons. But don’t worry, its been duly noted and I will not be purchasing any type of vehicle or having my car serviced by them in the future.

ZERO STARS! If I could check zero I would. AL Packer White Marsh is HORRIBLE for used car purchases!!! Go someplace else. They purposely list prices that are well below market value then tack on FREIGHT fees and probably other fees to end up making it more than other, more honest dealerships to get people into the door.
If you don’t mind giving away your SSN and other pertinent information for a credit check after agreeing to the told purchase price then are given a $ 892 higher price by all means go here.
My 05 corolla was totaled by my insurance company and I had to get a new car. It was already bad enough that my sweet $ 4k 05 corolla of only 66k miles when I purchased it was totaled (35,000 miles and 2 years later), I had to pay for my rental, and look furiously for a car. I ran here after a saw a significantly lower than market value on a 08 Toyota Prius on ebaymotors. Low enough to buy the car ASAP. I met this dealer George and I test drove it, checked it out, and called my mechanic dad about it. We had agreed that it was a good deal and proceeded with the paper work for the car with the promise that I could take it to a mechanic in the first few days. George claimed that the price I had was significantly lower than their internet price and he could not go any lower. He even hinted that he was doing me a favor to honor the price that there dumb selves had posted on ebay motors. At this point, I really liked George and was surprised at how cool and trustworthy he was compared to the other skeazeballs at the other dealerships that I had visited. I just wanted honesty and truth and he provided that for the first hour or so.
After I signed a few papers. He went through all my paper work and ask for my SSN, drivers license etc. to run my credit score for the finance department. He ran that and then came back 15 minutes or so and had a hand written total that I would have to pay. It had $ 7000 (my down payment) and $ 9413 as the financing amount. He left me to handle another customer and I calculated my estimated costs and this quoted amount. This quoted amount was almost $ 1000 more than what it should be. I assumed being a used car there would be the car price, the standard $ 300 or so for MD plates and registration, the $ 200 dealer processing fee, and the 6% MD taxes. These were the same quotes that Apple Ford in Columbia and a fLandmark Honda and College Park Honda dealerships had quoted me on other used cars. I asked the dealer why it was higher than my amount and he said it was something I could talk to the finance department about and he proceeded to hurry me into signing other forms while changing the subject. He left again for another 15 – 20 minutes and then returned with a hand written itemized amount written with a $ 892 freight fee added to the other expected fees!!! He claimed that he didn’t know of this fee and said that he just wanted to be honest about it and let me know that this is why it was much higher. A freight fee is only for new cars!!! This damn car was a trade in where the lady drove a TOYOTA into a FORD dealership. There was no effing freight fees needed. He should have been honest in the beginning and not wasted my time and hurt my credit score by telling me this before I signed anything. I called my dad and we talked to the supposed «manager» of this shady character and told them this was ridiculous that i was told one price and had my credit run and then was told a different price after i had waited 2 hours and filled out much paper work. They would not lower the price or wave that effing scam of a fee!
This toolish, falling into the used car salesman sleazy stereotype, pissed me off and really surprised me. Honestly even with the fee it was still a decent deal, but that fact that George was not honest upfront and waited until after all this time and paper work to tell me it, I could not on principle buy a car from this scammer of a person or the dealership. He could have just said that the price was too low and that they could only sell it at $ 892 more, but he did not.
I asked to speak to the sales manager that night at my mom’s insistence and outlined all that had transpired and how upset I was, how they should be honest etc. and instead of apologizing, he yelled at me and accused me of lying! I ended up hanging up the phone on him when he was yelling and called him a f***ing a**hole. Buy a used car at Apple Ford or some other place and buy your new and used fords someplace else. Their competitor Ford Apple still has sleazy guys, but at least you know that they are sleazy when you first meet them and they don’t throw surprises. The dealer acted like a friend, was trusting, and did not act sketch at all at first, and then threw a curveball and surprised me and proved to be the sleaziest of the sleazies.
I’m sorry that this is harsh, but I don’t want others to make the same mistake as me. It is a headache buying a car.

I ended up standing in their lobby for 40 minutes and not a person even said hello. I won’t even say terrible service so much as a complete lack thereof.

If you are not on their direct mail list, in the military, AND a recent college grad then you do not qualify for their advertised prices.
