Since 1993 the mission of 40 West Assistance & Referral Center has been to provide material assistance and counseling services to people in our community requesting help or to refer such persons to other public and private agencies which provide counseling, shelter, or other types of assistance.

History

Established in 1993.

Every month we serve over 100 households by

dispensing 1000 pounds of food

granting $ 3000 toward averting utility turnoffs and rental evictions

making referrals to shelters, job programs, and similar agencies

We are an outreach of the 40 West community of churches: Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and nondenominational. Edwin Hostetter currently directs the center.
