32nd Street Farmers Market

This is one of my favorite farmer’s markets! Although a lot less smaller that the Downtown Farmers market it is so much more personable that it’s larger counterpart!
From Eden Farms, Nuts to You, South Mountain creamery, You and me Soaps and Bernard’s incenses and oils make it worth my while to wake up and go there every Saturday morning!

This is such a cute place to go every weekend, just for kicks. I like the variety of stalls which ranges from veggies to pastries. You can easily pick up a healthy breakfast while you’re there too. My favorite food there has got to be the falafel wrap. They are located right in the middle of the market. You can’t miss it.
When it comes to veggies, I buy them from Eden Farm. Reasonable and fresh. The sellers are a bunch of older and friendly Korean folks, occasionally their daughter mans the stall too. I do get breads from Atwaters and coffee from Zeke sometimes.

Though the number of vendors aren’t as plentiful as some of the other farmer’s markets in Baltimore, the quality doesn’t lose.
Parking is pretty easy in the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable. There’s a booth where you can run your debit card in exchange for $ 5 tokens usable only at the market (note that there’s a $ 1.50 transaction fee).

The 32^nd Street market isn’t the biggest farmers’ market but what they lack in quantity is made up for in quality.
The prices are reasonable and the vendors are sweet and helpful.
I love that it operates year-​round though I wish they’d extend the hours to 2pm. Maybe I’m just lazy, but on most Saturday’s I’m still in my pajamas at noon. Isn’t that what Saturday’s are for?
Nevertheless, when I do make it, it’s always worth it. Today I bought a bunch of collards, some oyster mushrooms, sweet potatoes, garlic and a dozen fresh eggs from Amy’s Farm – all for $ 9.50. Beats Giant or Whole Foods any day. (Or, you know, any Saturday.)

This is a farmers market like you would find in Asheville. Great booths of prepared food vendors, but more importantly, lots of local farmers with fresh veggies. That is something sadly missed at small markets. Yes, Zeke’s is there and the Curry Shack… and BLACKSAUCE… amazing biscuits.
It was cold, windy and about to rain. WE had to high tail it. But honestly we will be back. Fresh breads, pickles… lots of everything.

We made our second trip to the market and again loved it. We bought fantastic breads and fresh vegetables, as well as some amazing Bread and Butter pickles. The pickles taste just like the ones my Mom and Grandma made when I was a kid. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning. We like to get there about 7:30 and get coffee and wander around before it gets crowded. You can get Zeke’s coffee from a stand in the market.

This place is smaller than the JFX one, but its perfect for me. One Straw Fram, Milk guys, and Zeeks… can’t go wrong.

Awesome Farmers Market. Located in a parking lot at E. 32^nd Street and Barclay Street, there is ample space to walk around. Zeke’s Coffee has a stand there so I typically enjoy grabbing a coffee first to take as I walk around. If you buy a bag of coffee, you get a free cup. I’ve been able to find many hidden treasures at this place such as Sweet Potato Liverwurst from South Mountain Creamery! Oh it was so delicious. Vegetables are reasonable priced and fairly large. I love getting the organic milk (South Mountain Creamery again!) here. The best I’ve tasted. There are hot foods such as sandwiches and drinks as well as fresh produce. If you are looking to get something ready to eat such as a hot sandwich, get there early. they sell out if you get there too late. There is a stand that allows you to run your debit/​credit card for a small fee in exchange for $ 5 tokens.

Most farmer’s markets are good and this one definitely does not disappoint. A parking lot full of local vendors and farmers is not only a cool sight to see, but also a delicious feast. Great way to spend an hour or two on a saturday morning. You can buy your meal here and also do some grocery shopping.
Some of the foods I’d recommend:
— bread: these fresh baked loaves are really tasty. My favorite is a big loaf of soughdough.
— cheeses: plenty of different types of cheese. the Goat cheese especially is AMAZING. so fresh
— veggies: of course, this is seasonal, but most of the veggies looked fresh. i got some lettuce, peppers, and mushrooms which were all fresh and tasty! great for cooking.
— apples: again. in season. but the honeycrisp. YES. so good.
— yogurt: you can get a glass bottle of many diff kinds of yogurt. i really liked their blueberry one and the plain was good too. Plus you get to keep the bottle and can use it if you want to feel hipster.
Feel free to ask for a sample for the different foods (like the cheese). the vendors are all friendly and eager to let you try some.
there are prepared foods available to buy too.
also, they have other things for sale like clothes, jewelry, etc.
unless they changed this recently, i’m pretty sure they take CREDIT CARD. When I went, i used my card to buy these tokens, which is used as currency in the market. if you want to be safe, bring cash, just in case the credit card machine is broken that day.
My friend and i finished our loaf of sourdough and half the goat cheese on the walk back home… we were tempted to turn around and go back for more, but we exercised some self control.
Also, I would recommend going to breakfast at Pete’s grille a block away, then stopping here afterwards!

The 32^nd Street Farmer’s Market (formerly known as the Waverly Farmer’s Market) is a year round farmer’s market with a nice variety of vendors and farmers. The market is smaller than Sunday’s market under the JFX, but is has everything you would need to fill your shopping bags. It has a great, Charles Village neighborhood vibe with a regular shopping crowd. You’ll find Zeke’s coffee to caffeinate your Saturday morning shopping. You can find baked goods, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, dips/​spreads, flowers and general goods. I love that they even have a stand with Korean vegetables so you can make your own kimchee. Parking is limited, but you can find parking in the lot or in the neighborhood.

I previously wrote that this farmers market closes for the winter.

This is a great farmer’s market. Prices are reasonable, even sometimes equal and cheaper than a grocery store.
The food stalls are exciting and flavorful.

Blacksauce kitchen — check my review on Unilocal.Today I just had their sage sausage with apple butter ona sage biscuit. … Simple, yet great flavors and textures. Perfect Saturday morning breakfast.
Harmony Bakery– Doesn’t have a sign. A Hippy looking married couple runs the joint. Amazing stuff that you won’t get anywhere in Baltimore. They mostly use organic or gluten free type ingredients. ROSEMARY CASHEW COOKIE… trust me. I’m eating one as I write this review… hold on. gotta lick the crumbs off of this starbucks table i’m sitting at.
Look for the extra virgin olive oil. Some of the best EVOO i’ve had.
Walk around for free samples too :) Enjoy local music, eat good food.

I love this wonderful market in Baltimore. I am a huge fan of the Baltimore Farmer’s Market as well, but the 32^nd Street Farmers Market has a different kind of atmosphere about it. First of all, this market is open. You will find some of the same vendors here as you do in the Baltimore Farmer’s Market, but there are different vendors. The food is delicious! There’s Blacksauce Kitchen (one of my favs), Ethiopian Delights (great soups and dips), Harmony, (gluten free), Locust Point flowers (the best variety of fresh cut flowers). Also, Dimitri Olive Oil is here (what is bread without good olive oil?) This market is open year round, and it is amazing how many die hards are there! LOVE this place.

This is my Saturday morning outlet. I am so glad my good friend suggested that we go one Saturday morning, and I have been hooked ever since. The fruits and veg tables are always fresh. I like that it is not very huge like the Baltimore Farmer’s Market on Sunday’s, but to me the 32^nd street has more of an intimate feel, not too crowded. I find the prices to be reasonable and it is always a great mix of prepared foods and produce. The one stand I frequent alot is the Infused Spreads vendor, I have been patronizing her since I stumbled across her stand at the Baltimore Farmers Market under the Jones Falls Expressway. Her spreads bring life to your proteins (chicken, pork and fish). Also she has spreads mainly for breakfast. Her jams are to die for and are a great gift for the holidays. She is one of the main reasons why I frequent 32^nd Street Farmers Market.

Ok y’all I promise not to update my review every Sunday! Lol. But I found that my favorite vegetable Booth’s farm is named Eden farm. Don’t go looking for a sign… they don’t have one… but they are the only Korean family there. (I finally just asked about their origin. :-)
And y’all… kudos to all the vendors who still braved the heat this Saturday. It was sweltering out there and vendors were still serving. Whew!
On a personal note, thank u for all the prayers and positive energy, my Dad is 100% after surgery. Already back to work :-)

Everyone kept on telling me about the Baltimore Farmer’s Market underneath the Jones Falls Expressway at Holliday & Saratoga streets, but it wasn’t until I visited the Charles Street Friday Market that the friendly pickle vendor told me about the 32^nd Street Market in the Charles Village area. The 32^nd St. Market is great! Big, but not huge, great prices on fresh produce, a good mix of prepared foods and produce.
I’m looking forward to coming back here every Saturday for my locavore needs. There’s a parking lot you can park at, or just do what I do and park in the neighborhood and walk a bit.

I had forgotten all about the 32^nd Street Farmers’ Market until I read the reviews here on Unilocal.They’ve been running this market ever since I was a teenager and perhaps earlier; I used to live in the neighborhood, so it wasn’t uncommon for me or my family to stroll down to Barclay and 32^nd and get some good food. Today I stepped back into my childhood!
One loaf of Atwater’s bread, a huge jar of locally-​made honey, two containers of hummus, a scone, a cup of Zeke’s and a huge falafel wrap later, the Love of My Life and I left, perfectly satisfied. We were mightily impressed by all of the different offerings; I must say that some of the vegetables were absolutely ginormous. If we’d had more money, we would have splurged and gotten tons of stuff. The debit/​token system was actually quite helpful and allowed us to spend more than what we had on hand.
Of course, that could be quite a dangerous thing.
I didn’t see the Ethiopian food mentioned in previous reviews; if I had, I would have so stopped there based on what I’d read alone. I will definitely look for them the next time I return.
The woman at the falafel table was absolutely awesome. She made a falafel wrap that was to. DIE. for. I’ve never had anything so delicious in my life. It’s things like this that make me WANT to go vegetarian — if only I didn’t like meat so much.
The hummus booth was absolutely the highlight of the market. Made by a company called The Wild Pea, they had tons upon tons of flavored hummus that we were allowed to try out before buying. I only bought two (the cinnamon raisin OHMIGAWD and the «Vampire Slayer», apparently so much garlic it burns your mouth), but with the selection of flavors, I will be back for much, much more. Wasabi basil pesto hummus? WIN.
Parking, I imagine, can be absolute hell, but we actually lucked out and snagged a space only half a block away from the market.
Street musicians make the atmosphere quite festive!

SUCH a great farmers market. I am in love. There is great food/​coffe/​smoothies you can get while shopping, the frequent live music, fresh produce, and vareity of goods. They have everything from bison to sprouts. Great place that has everything. I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
They also accept credit cards — they give five dollar tokens and vendors give you cash back if you don’t use the whole amount of the tokens, and they never expire.
Definitely worth giving them your business!

I am so in love with the Waverly Farmers Market. This probably has mostly to do with the fact that it’s a 10 minute walk from my house but it’s such a great size! It’s much less overwhelming than the market under 83 and I love the fact that it’s open year-​round.
But the thing I really really super love about the Waverly Market? They accept Food Stamps! And you get these cool little wooden tokens that make you feel like a kid playing house! As someone trying to subsist off an Americorps living stipend for the year I very much appreciate the fact that I can use my benefits to get fresh, local produce instead of being forced to buy subpar veggies from Safeway (*shudder*).

Since moving to Charles Village in August, this market has been a Saturday morning for me almost every week. The market is good sized with a variety of vendors, but it is small enough that there’s still a homey, community feel to it. The vendors all know each other and there is always some good-​natured ribbing happening across stalls.
Many of the produce vendors have similar stock (all of it very fresh and delicious!), but there are a few stands that are really unique and I always make sure to hit up when I go:
–Bmore Bill’s Dills: Homemade pickles from an awesome couple! They have like 10 different varieties of pickles and are very generous with letting you try all the kinds.
–Max’s Empanadas: The main storefront is in Little Italy, but they have a little stand at the farmer’s market every week. The chorizo and ham and cheese are my favorites.
–South Mountain Creamery: Freshest, best tasting milk I’ve ever had! If you are in a splurge mood, go for the chocolate milk. It is amazing. They also have cheese, butter, yogurt, etc.
–Atwater’s Breads: Great, fresh breads (and cookies and cakes) in all different varieties. The rosemary italian loaf is a winner for sure!

Get up early and GO! There are many outdoor/​indoor markets and farmers markets in Baltimore but this one is my favorite. It is tucked in the middle of a bohemian neighborhood (east of Charles Village), which gives it more of a community feel: similar to Eastern Market, but on a smaller scale. On Saturdays, there is live music (see photos) and it is crowded — so get there early. Am especially fond of the fresh artisanal bread there (Uptown Bakery et al.) but the fruit and vegetable selection from local farmers is excellent. This is a family friendly place. So get up early on Saturday, grab your friends, SOs or kids — and enjoy!
