History
Established in 2013.
Homebrews & Handgrenades, founded by owner Peter Tripp, is the culmination of a passion for homebrewing and an entrepreneurial spirit. What started as an interest in learning how to brew his own beer very quickly became more than just a hobby. With a friend to mentor him and a drive to understand how to brew quality beer, he became more and more refined as a homebrewer, enjoying trying new recipes and cloning some of his favorite craft brews. When a personal circumstance prevented him from being able to return to work in his profession as an Ironworker, he knew the time was right to pursue his newly found passion for beer full time and help others do the same. It was then the idea for Homebrews & Handgrenades was conceived.

Peter Tripp’s keen business sense began as early as seven years old when he used to accompany his father to local comic book events to sell comics. One day his father set up a folding table and gave him a 12-pack of soda which he bought for $ 6. Selling each can for $ 1, the next week Peter bought 2 packs of soda and more the following week, eventually expanding his inventory. A businessman with a solid work ethic was born.
But an intuitive knack for business would prove to not be his only natural talent. What started as a small interest in beer became a passion when Peter decided to learn how to homebrew. With a friend to mentor him, he became more and more dedicated to refining his skills as a homebrewer. When he was faced with a crossroads in his career due to a personal circumstance, he decided the time was right to revisit his entrepreneurial roots and embark on opening his own homebrew store. It was then the idea for Homebrews & Handgrenades was conceived.
