Absolutely tremendous. Cozy, noisy, charming, family friendly, epic food. On the must do list before you die.

My Fiancé and I was trying to find some good Mexican food around his place and we came across this restaurant … We tried many times to come in and also call to order but it was always closed. Finally Sunday we came in for breakfast and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! Home made tortillas, service excellent! I had Huevos Rancheros and he had Menudo, everything fresh, taste really good and the place it was packed and people come in nonstop! The owner was so sweet and came to our table to talk to us ! Really recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good and homemade Mexican food ! FYI: The Business Hours here on Unilocal it’s wrong, they close earlier and I believe on Wednesday, call and check before ;)

Menudo was the best I’ve had an any restaurant that I’ve been too. It’s small but they were actually quick to bring out our order. Can’t wait to try dinner.

The main reason I come here is for the menudo. It is definitely not for the service. It takes forever to get your first cup of coffee and I always have to ask for service.

I don’t knw how this place almost has 5 stars is not that great I’ve been here a few times I really tried to like it but it’s jst not that good I’ve had the chilles rellenos their decent but most likely won’t want them again I’ve gotten tacos And those are good, my sis gets the chilaquiles those really are the worst they have no flavor they are pretty Nasty only reason why I’m giving them 3 stars was for their tacos ! Sorry some of you really haven’t tried Mexican food to knw what’s good and what’s not !

One of my favorite places to go now, I got tired of going to King Taco and Albertos for Mexican food. I came to this place and the food its amazing !!! It has that original mexican taste. The type of taste you only get at home. The place its small, but with really good food and amazing services. I can’t wait to go back, I will recommend this place to everyone to go and try, you won’t regret it !!!

Perfect place for a Sunday morning breakfast… the Menudo is the best. I really recommend this spot if you are looking for homestyle mexican food. It gets super busy here and sometimes there is nowhere to sit but i think its worth the wait. the little lady(owner) is always so busy but when she gets to you she won’t fail to make it up with her happy mood :) i love coming here. if you can handle waiting for some good good mexican food then I recommend it.

Hit the sweet spot with custom made breakfast burrito and fresh squished orange juice. Best food I had so far around Kaiser Permanente

Great service, excellent breakfast spot, had fried bananas with egg rice and beans. Next time I’m going to try the panbazo, it looks amazing. But overall great food, great prices and awesome service. Will recommend this spot to anyone in the neighborhood.

Came for lunch. It’s small, but it wasn’t too hard to find. Had the chicken enchilada. It was pretty good. Not crazy amazing, but still pretty good. My brother tried the tacos: Asada, suardero, tripe and one more I forgot(they were out of pastor). He says he liked the tripe the best.

In Baldwin Park there’s never a need to stop by until now, this place is special. La Chilanguita which means the little lady from Mexico City is a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t disappoint, there are plenty of places in LA that can fill you but I specifically enjoyed the great food. The shop is really small and from the outside can be deceiving but when I tell you this is a Mexican place you can tell by the Aloe Vera bushes planted all along the outside entrance. Their menu is simple and there’s not tons on there to choose from but the chilaquiles are very well done, cooked to order and you can savor the rich sauce and cheese that is common in that region of Mexico. I met the owners and they are really humble and passionate about their food. They serve menudo everyday now due to the demand and the owner said her regulars really were asking for it since they couldn’t make it on weekends. I’m excited to come back for dinner and yes even Baldwin Park.

Dear Lawd have mercy upon my soul! Recently started working in the area and I am so sick of Subway I cannot even begin to tell you. I Unilocaled some stuff up and cane across this lil joint. 3 words: SOFRKNBOMBTABULOUS! Tostada de tinga, as good as my mothers tinga, no lie! Taco de barbacoa, meat was on point. Not dry at all and oh so full of flavor. Salsa verde could be a little more spicy(then again, me gusta el chile! No pun intended) but still very tasteful. Salsa Roja was on point! I intend to come back and try everything on their menu!

Thank you Unilocalers! Don’t come in here expecting gourmet mexican food, This is a small hole in the wall place serving delicious homemade mexican delicacies. We had the birria which was delicious, and the chilaquiles hit the spot, and of course the handmade tortillas. Definitely recommend this place. We came early for breakfast and by the time we left, people were waiting outside for an open table. We’re definitely coming back again.

I’ve seen my friends post about this place on FB. A co-worker was going to place and order, so I joined in(Take out) I ordered the green enchiladas a la carte… no beans no rice The sauce was creamy and just enough kick. The chicken was flavorful. The cheese and sour cream topping were perfect.

Came here for a late lunch with my girlfriends family. At first the place from the outside looked like a run down small house, however upon entering the place looked like a typical small Mexican eatery. I ordered the Pambazzo and 3 tacos with Barbacoa, the Pambazzo was really tasty and so too was the Barbacoa tacos, which had lots of flavour, with getting a Frutas drink which is always nice and refreshing. Overall although the appearance of the place is not the best the service was great, and I recommend this to anyone wanting to grab some Mexican food for lunch as the price is also pretty cheap.

If you are looking for real authentic Mexican food at a real inexpensive price, along with friendly service. This is the spot. Little hole in the wall but the best. My wife and I come almost every Sunday. And we never get bored of here. Try the Huarache, can’t go wrong.

Friendly service and really good food! My husband found this place as we were looking to grab a quick lunch by our office. It’s a hole in the wall joint that gets busy! I only saw two people working the floor. Tacos– I can only vouch for the carne asada. The meat is diced and has a little crunch. Tortilla was street size and the meat to tortilla ratio was good. Lots of cilantro, which I heart :) Torta– only one slice of tomato and a smear of avocado :(otherwise the bread was quite tasty along with the carne– pieces were a little larger than what was on the taco. Horchata– not too grainy. Thicker than the horchata olé you can get at Jim’s or The Hat. Tasty.

Visited this little mom & pops home style Mexican on a Sunday afternoon. The exterior is nothing to brag about but once I met the lady in charge I knew she’d take care of us. A very pleasant experience with friendly and attentive staff — albeit small — and food very tasty and hot. To die for are the homemade corn tortillas that came with my menudo. Also tried the lengua and chorizo tacos — pretty good with generous amount of meat. Could have been a tad more juicy but then again it might have melted the corn tortillas away so I wasn’t complaining. If you’re passing by or happen to be in the area I highly recommend stopping in for a few tacos or a bowl of menudo. I’ve been wanted to trek out and find some real Mexican food and this is a great start! Give this place a try — good food, friendly people and very economical!

Cute little family run business. Stopped by an got a pambazo, chilaquilas solo and capatada(fruit bread pudding). Absolutely loved the pambazo it’s a bread similar to a flat french roll dipped in a red sauce, drained sliced open stuffed with chorizo, potatoes, lettuce, fresh cheese and crema) also asked for green salsa. First bite and I was amazed at the flavors IMO so delicious no salsa necessary. The chilaquilas were good not the best but decent in flavor. They were tortilla strips, red sauce and cheese. I guess I’m just use to a more seasonings, a richer red sauce, cheddar and Monterey jack cheese also a bit of cooked onions. Enjoyed the capatada(sp) loved the texture of the bread that’d been soaked in a cinnamon panocha syrup, the nuts, plantains and raisins. Will be returning soon for another pambazo and perhaps a hurache.
