We are a medical and surgical ophthalmology practice. Our doctors pride themselves on having extensive experience with many types of ophthalmologic surgery over the past 40 years. We remain on the cutting edge of refractive and cataract surgery, as well as retina and glaucoma treatments, providing our patients with all of the latest proven technologies.

Our specialties include cataract surgery, refractive lens implant surgery, corneal refractive surgery (LASIK), glaucoma treatment, retinal evaluation and treatment, corneal transplant surgery and numerous laser surgical procedures.

History

Established in 1964.

We have grown from one office in 1964, into 5 offices throughout the Delaware Valley. We have our own Ambulatory Surgical Center in Bala Cynwyd where we can perform many lens and corneal surgeries. We have grown from a small family business into an 9 doctor practice covering a full range of ophthalmic specialties.

Herbert N.

Business Owner

Dr. Herbert J. Nevyas is a recognized leader in ophthalmic surgery, particularly cataract surgery. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa honor society and was awarded the Oliver Memorial Prize in Ophthalmology. He interned at Thomas Jefferson University, and completed his postgraduate training at the Institute of Ophthalmology of the University of London. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Nevyas has been the director of Nevyas Eye Associates since 1964. He founded the practice’s ambulatory surgical center, the Delaware Valley Laser Surgery Institute in 1989. An innovator in surgical equipment and procedures, Dr. Nevyas holds many ophthalmic patents. Techniques and instruments bearing his name are used worldwide. He has lectured widely and has authored more than 40 ophthalmic publications.
