Katz’s Deli Kitchen

All of the food was delicious. We had a corned beef omelet and some blitzes and I couldn’t recommend both more. Also, great coffee! And the service was impeccable!

Do not waste your time. These reviews must be paid because if we are referring to the same place these people may be suffering from food poisoning. The food I received after a one hour wait looked like it was on death row. It also costed me a pretty penny.

I had a great, quick lunch here while waiting for an appointment. I ordered a tuna sandwich and side of pickles, and my food was in front of me in what seemed like less than 5 minutes. Food was delicious (huge portions), and my waiter was friendly and attentive. I ended up needing a to-​go box because I couldn’t finish. Pickles were yummy as well. Absolutely no complaints, I would definitely visit again!

One star for the waiter who was nice & attentive, but unknowingly or loyally blind to the fact that FRESH In house MADE corn beef hash doesn’t look like dog food or taste like that Hormel can of goodness (not freshness) that my Dad fed me in the 1980s. I mean, come on, you’re name is Katz’ Deli! You’re corned beef hash special of the day should be stringy hot goodness of actual corned beef!!! Potatoes that you can taste were cut, washed, and cooked that day is what I was expecting. Pancakes were edible.
Another star because the eggs were adequate, bread was ok but not baked in house, and the home fries were actually cooked to perfection, crispy, and not oily.
That’s all I can say.
I hope the family who owns this establishment will read this review and focus on making this deli what the name suggests that it is.

I was raised on a classic BLT and fell in love with Katz’sDeli style. It’s made with turkey bacon and, of all things, half of an avocado. My wife and I come here every other Friday after the gym, and our chiropractor adjustment. Can’t seem to order anything else because it is so delicious.

Good breakfast sandwiches! Ready in just a few minutes and order always taken with a smile. So far there has never been a mistake of an order! It’s nice to have a place nearby to get the classic fried, egg, Swiss and bacon on a Kaiser role and have it ready and hot in a hurry!

Ya sorry for the low rating, but they earned it. The 2 stars is for the cook’s ability,
service was not even average. Never came back to table after dropping-​off the food. Never payed any attention to my empty coffee cup. Had to call her 3 times. Got the order wrong then after getting it right the over easy eggs showed-​up with one broken and leaking yoke.
What (???) that is unexceptable. I had asked to take away the toast with the wrong order and bring fresh (the 1^st order would’ve been stone cold) my correct but broken eggs arrived with the original toast. They retoasted it — OMG! Like eating giant rock hard croutons!
Pancakes were good (so says the wife) the lox was also acceptable, my broke eggs tasted good (not greasy or too buttery). If this owner thinks all you have to do is cook decent food they are grossly mistaken.
And, way over priced! Will not return, and can’t recommend.
Ps do a google search for Katz then read the reviews there — current reviews nothing better then a 3.

Best tuna melt I’ve had in a long while. Great portions ate half and was beyond full.

Went here for breakfast while staying at the Hilton across the street. I accidentally ordered to go but stuck with it when I realized I should have sat at a table rather than ordered at the cash register. The cashier was very nice, and the food came out decently quickly but not too quickly which meant they actually cooked to order. I got a coffee and a veggie omelet with home fries. There was so much food I only at half of it. The home fries were delicious and the omelet felt like it was actually real veggies. For example the mushrooms didn’t taste like canned mushrooms which was nice. Overall it was a good breakfast experience.

I’m not a deli expert but I just had a great breakfasts here. Service was really friendly and good came out fast. Enjoyed my avocado blt and home fries quite a bit. A little pricey but much better for breakfast than nearby corner bakery, etc. I’ll be back!

A bitter cup of coffee at breakfast? Please fix this. Pastrami sandwich very good, avocado and egg BLT, fantastic.

Lunch here today. Very attentive waitress, good Reuben, very good homemade beef and cabbage soup (special) and exceptional pickles! On another day had the fresh turkey panini– hard to get fresh roasted turkey. Delicious.

All of the meats they have are always fresh and delicious. My personal favs are the pastrami and the roast beef. Pastrami and provolone toasted and dipped in their au jus is bomb.

The food which we received was good but not great. Our salad came after other things, and one of our ordered items did not appear at all, though it was on our check. Our waitress did take the item off the check (this took a long time) and did apologize.
Servers were friendly, but inattentive. I never did receive a drink refill.
The dining room was clean, with a mixture of high-​back booths and regular tables. The booth I sat in was somewhat wobbly, so that every move made by the person in the next booth shifted the seat back about.

Katz has lots of delicacies that are unavailable elsewhere, like blintzes and latkes. Their menu has an excellent selection, and the food is decent.
What isn’t decent is the time it took for the delivery driver to get here and his attitude upon arrival.
I ordered via GrubHub, which initially told me the food would be here in around 40 – 50 minutes. Okay, fine, it’s lunch hour. Updates to tell me over an hour. Less okay. Someone from Katz calls and says my extra cheese wasn’t included in my charge, and politely asked if I could give the driver a dollar when he arrives. I agree, glad that they didn’t surprise me with that.
Said driver’s unkempt appearance aside (to the tune of a t-​shirt that exposed his gut and had grease spots all over it), his attitude when I FINALLY got my food was seriously disgraceful. Over an hour after I order, I am summoned to the reception area of my office to pick up my food, where the driver was waiting (I had given the receptionist the dollar to give him so he didn’t have to wait, but someone else manned the desk and didn’t know.) so the driver was visibly irritated when I arrived and lectured me about using Grubhub! Get over it, pal, or don’t have the restaurant on GrubHub! It was not difficult to take an extra dollar from me and wait a crushing minute for me to go upstairs. He criticized my favour of GrubHub rather than calling the restaurant and giving them my credit card number. Evidently he forgot that I am the one who is paying for the food. I immediately regretted tipping him before the food arrived, so I suppose that it my mistake.
It is not appropriate or okay to take a long time with the food and have a greasy, sloppy driver whine at me for my choice of order placement when he arrives late with a shitty attitude. It is a shame, since I enjoyed what I ordered despite it being barely lukewarm when it got to me, but that level service is completely repulsive.

I went here 1hr before closing on a Sunday. I ordered the Reuben and a piece of carrot cake to take home. Both were quite delicious. Service was quick and efficient (there was one other customer there). The Reuben had the perfect ratio of corn beef to sauerkraut to Swiss cheese to Russian dressing. I would defiantly go back here for another Reuben. The carrot cake was what I expected I would give it a ⁵⁄₁₀ with ten being the best carrot cake in the world.

Great coffee!!! With some really good food attached. Pancakes are off the chain good. Nice location.

We had a group of 9 plus two little ones for brunch on Sunday. We had a reservation and our table was already set up when we arrived a couple minutes early. We all ordered breakfast meals. I had the special breakfast burrito which was turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, egg, and salsa on a choice of 3 different wraps (I picked the spinach wrap). The specials were reasonably priced at about $ 7 each– my only wish is that the specials would also come with home fries. Menu is big and the omelettes come with home fries and toast. Service was fine and food came out pretty quickly. I’m not sure why the other reviews had complaints. Maybe I dine out in center city too much but I thought the prices were very reasonable.

The Italian hoagie was delicious! Perfect amount of meat and cheese and the fresh onion and tomato were perfect complements.
The turkey hoagie was not as good. Meat was dry and the sandwich could have used some cheese.
We got these to go for a flight. It would have been easier to eat is they were wrapped up in paper rather than being placed in plastic boxes.
