The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort

Our stay here was awesome! From the Valets to checkin to room was very friendly staff! Had daily breakfast buffet and considered it an event! Beautiful view! Excellent food! Fabulous environment! Look forward to another visit hopefully soon!

I would give the St. Regis 10 stars if I could. It was the most positive hotel experience I have ever had. If you are considering using your Starwood points here, do it. You won’t regret it.
The good:
* Got upgraded to a suite, which was actually a ~1,500 sq. ft. apartment with a full living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a bedroom. This hotel «room» was in all seriousness 3X the size of my real life apartment. The master bed/​bath alone was bigger than my whole apartment.
* Everything inside the suite was incredible. The hotel is only 3 years old, and that becomes immediately apparent once you are inside your room (think: modern décor and touch screens everywhere). The suite/​apartment that I was in also had two separate private balconies (one in the living room, the other in the bedroom) directly overlooking the beach and ocean. It also had a full washer and dryer and came with, of all things, a butler. Yes, your very own Jeeves.
* Everything outside the suite was incredible. The pools and pool areas were beautiful, and for December, surprisingly not that crowded. The spa amenities (which are free if you are SPG Platinum) were some of the nicest. The beach was also very nice, but I prefer my water chlorinated, so I didn’t spend too much time there.
* There’s great attention to detail. This may just be a SPG thing, but I found that there was a lot more individualized attention and nuanced service. Cynically, I would say that that should be a given at the St. Regis’ price point, but viscerally, I can’t help but be delighted at the little, thoughtful things.
The not-​so-​good:
* Parking is valet only, and at $ 40/​day, it can add up over the course of a few days. I can’t complain too much though because the value of the stay far surpassed this one cost.
Bottom line: yes, stay here. If I had infinitely more points and more vacation days, I would have never left.

dump, dump, dump… enough said — Bad food and service rooms are thread bare… Four Seasons is coming soon and will eat your HALAL lunch! LOL

Best hotel I’ve stayed in, in the US to date. Our personal butler was awesome and the view was amazing. Our suite was to die for! I absolutely love the bathtub in the Imperial Suite. We really enjoyed our stay, it provided a great bonding experience. I will definitely go back.

A flawless experience. Is it pricey? Definitely. It’s worth it. The spa is the best I have been to. Breakfast is amazing. They are all simply pros in the hospitality industry. It’s amazing.

It hurts to give this gorgeous resort a poor rating.
This resort lacks for nothing in technology and high end finishes; however, housekeeping is atrocious.
I also found the food disappointing considering the outrageous prices.

Ah, wow this hotel is so luxurious… From arriving… to checking in… turn down service… Sometimes you may not find someone to help you. but they come along if you wait a minute… I really enjoyed my stay here, the room was fabulous, the tranquility pool is amazing. no kids! The beach was just a walk away… behind the pool… With the amount of $$ you spend here… you will get the service you desire… And what’s awesome is across the road is the bar harbour shops!!! There’s restaurants in there if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. i will definitely return here with my boyfriend when we want to go back to miami for a visit! Will make a point to stay a couple nights here.

Where the rich and subtle come to stay. Impeccable environment and service from the moment you drive your car to valet. Catered to by name and whatever you need is done for you. The Décor is elegant and simple with exquisite attention to detail.

The most wonderful hotel I stayed at! The room was wonderful and clean! The customer service was perfection. I’ve been in hospitality business for about 10 years (including the Starwood family) and I’ve never experienced such great customer service! I can certainly compare the property to Aria in Las Vegas. But St. Regis is better :)

I felt as if I. We’re frozen on the front cover of an ocean drive magazine or advertisement. Gorgeous art gallery like entrance and comfortable. Ideal for a private romantic getaway that really does have the effect of ensuring a ‘piece’-of-mind can wait for just even just a few more days.

One of the best in the whole spread Miami area. Very nice location «to me personally it’s a little out of where my places of action are but it’s a very easy nearly not worth mentioning commute everytime», very nice service and you get to sense a relieving sense of comfort once you step in, that sets it away from the sometimes overwhelming «yet sweet» Miami’s vibe «humidity, people crowds, noise.». Grand lobby, very nice choices of dining and all what we’ve had was very good. Of course the beach proximity is the key and the views are spectacular. I personally find Miami’s beaches the closest «if ever» to the type of beaches I like, sorry very much Cali!

I stayed here with my girlfriend March 19 – 23, 2014 and it was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. The property and grounds are pristine, and the staff goes out of there way to make you feel special from the moment you arrive at the door. The pool is relaxing and quite, which is a nice change from other hotels I’ve stayed at in Miami, specifically the W, the Fontainebleau, Perry /​Gansvoort, and Mondrian.
The room was also inviting and made you feel at home, although our SPG upgrade was only to the same room but a few floors higher. The drinks at the bar were perfectly made and the free 7:30 p.m. champagne saber event is worth checking out.
I’ll stay there again and again.

You will find top notch service here. The staff is always professional and dressed wonderfully.
Not a hair out of place. You won’t find yourself dining at a restaurant without a Manager stopping by to inquire if your meal is to your satisfaction. Indeed, you pay for the service but I found the price to be very fair for what we received.
The rooms are beautiful and they are CLEAN!
We went for a quick weekend getaway and were not disappointed. The staff at the beach was amazing too. You don’t need to lift a finger. However, I will note that they could have combed the beach to remove the vegetation a little — we were stepping over what the waves brought in and by the end of the day — there is quite a pile to hop over. Also, you may need to wait a bit for beach food and drink service (even with the numbered flag they give you) — potentially they might not see it right away. Their smoothie samples that are handed out periodically are delish and give you a taste of what you can order off their menu.
I only gave it a 4 because we had a hard time getting Room Service on the line. My persistent husband waited 20 minutes and still no one answered. Why he held on that long, who knows? I ended up calling the main hotel line from my cellphone for them to transfer me to Room Service. All that work for a slice of cheesecake.
All that said, I would for sure come back here when I just need to get out of town for a weekend.

I was first here after just a few months of it opening and they must have still been working out the details. This stay was super memorable for us — my (former) boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed — and also excellent service.
We were in a Grand Luxe Oceanfront Suite — with a dining area, full kitchen, living room, two balconies and bathrooms, and the bed room. The views were breath taking — facing north we could see the coastline for miles.
Our butler, Rebecca, did a stellar job — very friendly, accommodating, and really owned making our experience a positive one. The breakfast buffet had fresh fruits and bakery goods.
They have two pools — once for the kids and another quiet pool that is adults only. The beach is beautiful, you can even borrow bikes and go for a ride alongside.

I’m a bit conflicted as we seem to be over the large resort scene. However, if that is your game, this place has a lot figured out. As in just about everything. The rooms, balconies, beach service, pools, food — all outstanding.
I just have a brain hemorrhage when the mini bar charges $ 9 for a mini can of Pringles, $ 10 for M&M’s, etc. and the gift shop carries $ 500 swimsuits. The prices are just outrageous, and I am sure management’s response would be they are in line with resorts of this caliber. They would be correct. It just doesn’t make it palatable to me, so we are moving on.
So it’s a five star review with that caveat. If this is your thing, then the St. Regis will be right up your alley.

This place is amazing. Very friendly staff. Perfect getaway for couples who still want to be in Miami but not on South Beach. Only a 20 min ride to South Beach…
The Villa restaurant at the pool has amazing Crab Cakes. Homemade Margaritas were the best. All fresh ingredients used at this resort.
Spa was very nice, as well. Hence, it is a bit expensive but enjoyable.
We’ll be back!!!

Service was good enough, can’t speak for the food.
I thought the room was a little underwhelming for a 5 star resort. Wasn’t perfectly clean, and didn’t have that wow factor. Overall a decent experience, great beach!

That’s really all I can say.

While I love this place– having stayed here 4 previous times– I’ve made my last visit. There’s a 7 day cancellation policy. This is different than other Starwood properties. I tried to cancel 72 hours out… Not realizing about the 7 days. They were unhelpful. A manager called me back and said I’d be forfeiting my $ 650 deposit. Oh well… Glad there are other options up the street.
I’m done here.

This is my first St. Regis experience. I came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. We stayed there for one night in a Grand Luxe Oceanfront Room.
Service: Quickly attended to, very personalized, can ask for help anywhere. The valet guys were very nice and friendly, remembered our names and greeted us every time we left and came back to the hotel. We had one little problem in the room. We found a stain on one of the decorative pillows on the bed. We rang for service and within 5 – 10 minutes got it replaced. They rang our door bell around 5−6pm for night towel service where they provided fresh towels and bottled water.
Beach: The hotel has a private beach. They will ask you for your name and room number upon entrance. If you like secluded and privacy, this is perfect for you. The staff is really friendly. They find chairs for you, lay towels for you, bring you water and cocktails. You can order food here as well.
Room: Our room was a Grand Luxe Oceanfront Room. The room was very luxurious. There’s a big marble lined hallway leading to the bedroom. The closet is huge and has his and hers side. Has a well-​stocked mini bar and a fridge. The lighting and drapes are digitally controlled. Bed was very comfortable, the sheets were extra soft. You can also pick the firmness of your pillow.
Bathroom: Has both a bathtub and a shower. The shower comes with two options: regular shower head and overhead shower head. Unfortunately, you cannot have them both running together at the same time. The toilet was neatly hidden by a frosted glass. Has two sinks, his and hers.
Balcony: Very nice and breezy, ocean view. Has a small café patio table and two chairs outside and two lounge chairs. We ordered room service and ate on the balcony for breakfast. Only complaint is that it is not so private. You wouldn’t be able to walk out naked. You could see your neighbors and guests on the other floors.
Room service food: Only ordered breakfast so can’t comment on anything else. Food was pretty good. I got scrambled eggs with bacon, potatoes, and English muffin. Scrambled eggs were delicious. ranked pretty high up for scrambled eggs. English muffin came with 4 flavors of mini jars for jam to pick from.
House car service: This is a complimentary, first come first serve basis. My girlfriend wanted to go to the Bal Harbour Shops across the street. Fortunately the house car was available so we didn’t have to wait. We got dropped off right in front of the shops. However, we called for pick up and the hotel said no house cars are available and we weren’t able to get a ride back. Luckily we were just across the street and not somewhere far. Just be aware that you can get a ride somewhere but might not get a ride back.
Birthday Surprise: I spoke with Alejandra Pineda, the Guest Recognition Manager and Ariana Chang (Butler Service) prior to our arrival to help coordinate a birthday surprise for my girlfriend. They went above and beyond my expectations and to help prepare a surprise. She absolutely loved it and was very impressed.
