Bridal Makeovers by Aradia

I’m not sure where to begin with how fabulous Aradia was for my wedding. I think it began during my hair & makeup trial. I met her with Kei Pucci (hair ARTIST extraordinaire) on SOBE and they welcomed me into their process from the very beginning. I was there playing dress-​up with them for about two hours and I was able to see three different hair styles and three different makeup looks– the final of each being what I wore to our shower that day. I knew right away that I wanted to hire them for the wedding.
Aradia sent amazing tips on how to prep my skin for the big day, and she was constantly in-​touch with me to see how I was doing. She even texted me the week of the wedding to make sure I was remembering to hydrate despite being really busy.
The day of the wedding she came to my hotel room and made up myself, my mother, my mother in law, and my four bridesmaids. She really listened to what each bridesmaid wanted done with their makeup and she was able to adjust to their needs on the spot. I felt so incredibly beautiful at my wedding, and my husband who normally prefers my natural look, was blown away.
Living in Miami I found that most makeup artists were extremely pricey and I could never have afforded to allow my bridesmaids to get their makeup done. Aradia worked with me and with some of her deals at the time to make sure that everyone could be fabulous on our big day.

I would like to start off by admitting that I am rather spoiled and EXTREMELY picky. In my 36 years of life, I have had my hair and make-​up done many times and up until Aradia and Kei, I had ALWAYS ended up wiping off the make-​up and combing out my hair. Nobody seemed to get that I wanted to look like me, but better. I lucked out on the day it mattered most, though, my wedding. Aradia and Kei not only made me laugh, but they made me feel truly beautiful. Both ladies are artists, but not the kind that dismiss what you want in order to «express themselves»… They listen to you and even if you’re not terribly articulate, they are both very good at looking at your style and getting a feel for you… They can take what you want and elevate it. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They just did my hair and make-​up for New Years — and my sister and niece’s hair and make-​up for a wedding they were attending– I am tempted to erase this whole review realizing that they may be completely booked once I let everyone know how spectacular they are, but aside from their being the best hair and make-​up team I have ever used, they have become friends and I wish them only success… Unless it interferes with my being able to book them :-)

Aradia and Kei were an absolute DREAM to work with! During my trial, both were very open, and excited, to hear about what I envisioned myself looking like on my wedding day. They constantly checked with me if I felt comfortable with the look they had created. I walked out of my trial feeling so beautiful and excited that they had achieved exactly what I was looking for.
As my wedding day approached, both sent me «prep» instructions to ensure my makeup and hair would be perfect. They showed up on time as scheduled. And to my surprise, both my hair and makeup were even more stunning than at my trial!
The best part about working with Aradia and Kei is that they were FUN to work with! They make an amazing team! I would highly recommend them to any bride!

Aradia and Kei were just amazing and delivered an undeliverable experience! Having Aradia and Kei on my side was the best thing that could have happened to me.
I looked and felt so beautiful and I still receive so many compliments for my hair and makeup!

I hesitated to write a review about Aradia, because somehow, in my mind I didn’t know whether I expected way too much. However, after talking to another make-​up artist about my experience with Aradia during my wedding day she asked me to please write a review because no bride should ever have to go through that experience. Briefly speaking, while I liked my hair and make-​up, I did not enjoy working with Aradia and Kei, and I did not think the product was what I expected.
First, I decided to hire Aradia as my wedding make-​up Artist because she sounds very sweet over the phone and promises to «pamper» you during the day of your wedding. She also offered airbrush make-​up, which not many other make-​up artists do without an additional fee (never used it during the wedding).
I started having my first doubts about Aradia during my trial session, but did not pay too much attention to it. The trial was at Kei’s house (Aradia’s recommended hair-​dresser) and they double booked my appointment with another client. I am really easy going and thought this was okay. However, I did feel I was a bit rushed. I also had paid my deposit, but they seemed to be very hesitant about sharing information about make-​up colors and about sharing the picture they took of me once they were finished. They said they don’t share this picture until clients pay the deposit, which is plain silly because it was a picture taken with Kei’s cell-​phone. I could have just as easily bring my own camera and have my mom take a picture of me. After all, it is my own image and I paid for the trial session. They complained about other clients using the picture to then have someone else do their hair and make-​up. I have several issues with this attitude:
1. I had already paid my deposit.
2. I am trusting my wedding day hair and make-​up to them, they cannot do business with that attitude if they want their clients to feel comfortable
3. If they are THAT good… no client will ever go elsewhere because they LOVE the way they look. Why pay for a trial session if not? Maybe there is another reason why clients go elsewhere?
4. It is very unprofessional to complain about other clients with a client
After the trial session, I decided to wash away my doubts and wait for the wedding day. I had paid the deposit and given my word…
Then, came the big day… Aradia and Kei came very rushed. I was waiting for my room, and they seemed very displeased that the hotel did not have the room ready for them. Contrary to my photographer’s cheerful and easy going attitude, they did not take a joke out of the fact that we walk towards the opposite side of the hallway to get to the room that was next to the elevator… they looked annoyed.
When they got to the hotel room, they started complaining about the size of the chairs, the lighting, etc. My wedding coordinator had to go out of her way to accommodate them. Then, Kei complained about me not ironing my hair nor my flower girls’ hair in the morning (one of them had really long hair). I have to admit that Kei had asked me to iron it; but honestly, I completely forgot being that I had hired a hair-​dresser and that it was my wedding day. She said she was going to have a difficult time working like this.
Aradia also complained about me not hydrating my lips, the dark circles around my eyes (I had just started working as an associate at a law firm), my mom getting in the way of the sun light… etc. Nevertheless, I was ready not to have anything or anyone ruin that day for me so I did not argue and kept my good humor.
While I liked my hair and make-​up in general it did not meet my expectations. Aradia also did not bother to put make –up on my neck and arms (I have little red spots on the back of my upper arms) and I had a blemish on my chest, which I had to specifically go back and ask her to please cover it. She just applied some concealer on the spot that looked like I had white spot on my chest. When I looked at my pictures after the wedding, I was really upset about this.
I contracted Aradia and Kei to do the hair for 6 persons and make-​up for 5 (including the two flower girls). The price Aradia gave me was based on that number. Nevertheless, a few days before, I told her that another friend was coming. The price per person remained the same. My friend never made it. Aradia and Kei waited about half an hour for her. Then, they charged me for her hair and make-​up INCLUDING TIP!!!
In sum, while in general I liked my hair and the make-​up, I honestly did not enjoy Aradia or Kei’s attitude. It’s your wedding day and as Aradia promised over the phone you should be surrounded by easy going individuals who are willing to help and make your day easy and enjoyable.

AMAZING!!! Aradia and her staff are extremely professional. I was very impressed with this company after they were able to assist me the day before my wedding. Originally I had booked a make up/​hair artist who canceled on me the day before my wedding. Luckily I remember speaking to Aradia months back regarding her services. I regret not sticking to my initial instinct and booking her back then. None the less Aradia remembered me and assured me that everything would be okay. The day of the wedding her and her staff were at my house prompt and ready to go. I was nervous because we did not do a trial before hand but in the end my hair style was perfect and my make up was flawless. Thank you Aradia and Fey!

I’ll give her two stars since she refunded my deposit. I could not meet Aradia or anyone from her team prior to my wedding day since I live in California. All of our communication was over the phone and through email.
I contacted Aradia two months before my wedding for hair and makeup. Everyone else I contacted was booked up, although Aradia said my date was wide open on her schedule. She was extremely nice over the phone when we spoke. She explained that she does makeup, but if she books too many clients then she takes on more of a manager roll to her makeup artists in the field and doesn’t do makeup herself. She sent me the portfolio of one of her hairstylists, Kei, that she recommend for my style. Aradia said that once I paid the $ 50 dollar Paypal deposit I would be booked with Kei and also herself (granted Aradia might have to back out and I would be assigned someone else). Once I saw Kei’s portfolio I liked her work and paid the deposit for Aradia and Kei.
Aradia confirmed that she received my deposit, however did not send a contract until a couple weeks later. I emailed her twice inquiring about the contract during the span of those two weeks. Once I received the contract I noticed that not only was Aradia unable to do my makeup, but also Kei was now unavailable as well. Since my reason for booking them was based on Kei’s portfolio I was pretty upset to learn that I was not getting anything I had signed up for. I understood that Aradia might get busy, but I was under the impression that I had Kei booked 100%. Instead, I was told that I would be with Timea for both hair and makeup. I had reason to believe that Timea was very new to the company.
Trying to give Aradia the benefit of the doubt I asked if I could please see Timea’s portfolio, as well as speak to Timea on the phone before sending in my contract. Timea’s hair portfolio was much smaller than Kei’s, but had nice photos. Timea called me and explained that she was a professional makeup artist and that we should meet up during one of her breaks from work a few days before the wedding to discuss details, although the point of us talking on the phone was so I didn’t have to do that, I wanted to have that discussion now. She seemed to keep saying that we would talk about it then so I explained that I wanted to ask her questions over the phone as well. After speaking with her I felt that she was merely a makeup artist and I did not have the confidence that she could do my hair as well.
Sadly, after a disappointing conversation with Timea, I decided to cancel my booking with Bridal Makeovers by Aradia. I emailed Aradia and asked for my $ 50 deposit back and explained that I wasn’t going to need her services on my wedding day. She did refund me the deposit, which I did not expect to get back.

Simply the best experience I ever had with an make up artist, company and team! Aradia was so kind, flexible and understandable, worked with me even on a short notice. I loved that she actually picked up the phone and called me the same day (which is sooo rare these days) I expressed interest on her site. But I loved that she actually seemed to CARE about my special wedding day, paid attention to what I wanted, my needs and sent me the best artist or the one I needed, Aimee! Thank you so much for making it so unique! I looked precious, my make up lasted all day/​night even on a rainy beach day wedding LOL! I looked so stunning at midnight I still didn’t want to wash my face, LOL! Love them and can’t wait to use them again or have any excuse to look natural yet flawless!

It was such a pleasure to work with Aradia and Jacquie. They were truly professional, personable and talented. I was 7 months pregnant and planning a wedding from NY. After seeing Aradia’s work online and having a great conversation I was certain that she was the right person. From the moment she arrived, punctual!, she put me at ease. Jacquie was doing my hair and together they were a great team. They worked with me to make sure they achieved the look I wanted and offered their professional opinion which was spot on. I can’t thank them enough for making look and feel beautiful on my wedding day. My hair and makeup lasted through the beach ceremony and the rest of the day into night. Looking at my photos, I’m truly happy I chose Aradia. She is not only talented but a genuine person, too. Nowadays, it’s very hard to find to find that combination, especially when it comes to wedding vendors. Thank you Aradia and Jacquie!

I found Aradia from one of my friends who is a recording artist. Aradia does her make-​up for shows, videos, photo shoots, etc. I was a little nervous because when it comes to my make-​up I am extremely picky. Anyways, I called Aradia and she was an absolute doll. She was sweet, professional and educated in her craft. Then I finally got to meet her in in person and she was absolutely lovely. I was so pleased with my her work that I hired her again for a family photo shoot after the wedding. I HIGHLY recommend her. Her energy is bright, pleasant and genuine. When she was finished, I felt absolutely stunning. I have never felt so beautiful.

Wow! Where do I even begin about Aradia and Jackie?
My family and I were so impressed by their work — they were one of the best vendors we worked with on our big day by far!
First off, they did our hair and make-​up absolutely beautifully!
Aradia did such an amazing job with the makeup that my sister even allowed her to do her makeup at the last minute — my sister who in her over 30 years of life has only worn makeup one other day in her life — her wedding day!
I planned my wedding from New York so I was extremely nervous about my hair since I wasn’t able to do a trial run. My hair was breath-​taking though. I got so many compliments. It stayed the whole night and it looked amazing!
My make-​up was also spectacular — my now-​husband was blown away when he saw me! I have never had my makeup done so beautifully and everything stayed in place the entire night — I didn’t even have to touch up anything except my lip gloss!
The biggest thing I have to appreciate is their flexibility. My dad actually ended up in the ER on my wedding day and the whole wedding was pushed back an hour. My mom almost didn’t make the wedding but when she finally arrived they did her up quickly and amazingly beautiful! They actually stayed and waited for her to arrive so they could also make my mom look beautiful on my big day. I can’t thank them enough for this!
I will recommend Aradia a million times over! I can’t even express how much I appreciated everything she did and all of her flexibility, but most importantly, how beautiful she and Jackie made all of my girls and I look on the big day!
