Pure Essentials Day Spa

I’m so glad I continue to receiving hair service at essential. A few months back I make an appointment for a hair cut and color with missy. She is amazing with aumbre’s. I completely forgot to write the appointment time and date down to remind myself. Today I called and spoke to Megan in guest service wanting to schedule an appointment with Missy. Megan looked at my history of services and tells me. I already have an appointment scheduled with missy. Megan truly gave 110% of herself to helping customer. Especially customers like me that have a busy schedule and forget I have an appointment and the service I last had. Keep up the great work.

I’ve been to a few different spas in town. This by far is a much more relaxed atmosphere of all. I had a facial, massage and wrap, pedicure and fill. I’ve been back and will keep going. The ladies are so thoughtful and go out of their way to make sure you totally enjoy your experience. They are very professional. I look forward to going back and they are very helpful when you ask for suggestions. They don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them.

This was my 1^st time at this cute calming day spa. I normally go to another day spa here in town but my son & daughter in law gave me a gift certificate for Pure Essentials. I started out with a classic pedicure with Karen. My toes now look wonderful & my feet feel heavenly. Thanks Karen :-)). Next up was my facial with Reagan. She is very knowledgeable and knew just what my facial skin needed. Reagan gave me a Flaxx C facial along with an amazing scalp massage. Thanks Reagan:-)) As I was leaving I noticed a smudge on my toe from probably relaxing too much during my facial. No problem. Karen fixed me up lickadee split. What I learned today was, I now have a new Esthetician & Manicurist. I’m starting my weekend with beautiful feet & a glowing face. Thanks again Ladies

I am due in a few days and really wanted a relaxing prenatal massage. Khristina Black was amazing and has the right mix of pressure and relaxation. She was worth every penny and I will be back again!
The Spa was also very clean and welcoming. I loved the room and felt at ease as soon as I walked in.

Very welcoming environment. Customer service is up to par. Great massage therapy to any athletes looking for deep tissue, trigger point, myofacial release. Great experience to get me ready for my first bodybuilder show!

I have been having prenatal massages from Kristina Black weekly since I was almost 30 weeks pregnant. I cannot tell you the difference it has made in how I have felt in the last stretch of this pregnancy! Kristina provides a soothing environment that smells and sounds relaxing upon entering her room. My biggest issue has been hip and back pain– I walk in aching and walk out feeling like I’ve never had any pain. I have had many prenatal massages over the course of my 3 pregnancies from various local therapists, but I can confidently say that prenatal massages with Kristina are the best I’ve had and have made life more bearable as a working mom who has 2 little ones to care for at home. Kristina is respectful if you are there to relax in silence, but I have never been able to make it through a session without chatting because she is so easy to talk with and likeable. I also love the lotions and relaxing mists she uses throughout the session. I have referred every pregnant lady I know to her. She is amazing and worth every penny. You will leave feeling physically and emotionally refreshed, wondering how soon she is available again! I can’t wat to try one of her spa treatments as soon as I have this baby!

I have gotten several pre-​natal massages from Kristina at Pure Essentials. It is a relaxing environment, always clean, with friendly faces. I always leave feeling so relaxed and with fresh spa water in my bottle. I would recommend massages with Kristina to anyone!

Been going here for over 5 years. I’ve gotten massages from Tom (Massage Therapist) and facials from Rosemary (Esthetician). They truly love what they do. There work speaks for itself. Rosemary took the time to listen to my concerns and help me clear up the blemishes I had around my face. Tom is patience. He doesn’t rush through the massage… he just goes with the follow. I love this place. Day of my appointment I leave work early just to sit in there patio… just to relax.

Was really surprised by how AMAZING this place is. I couldn’t get an appointment at any of my other usually spots so I thought I would try this place. I was a little worried, I hate going to massage places for the first time, however I was desperate for an hour long massage so I gave this place a try. I am so happy I did! There is plenty of street parking by this place, and they also have a small parking lot. Inside the spa is clean and decorated «spa like». They had some hot tea and cupcakes for in the waiting room. My only suggestion or reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because of the waiting room. To me half of the spa experience is the ambiance. Ideally I have also found it easier to relax before my massage if the room is located away from the cash register and people finishing up. I know its not a big deal at all, and like I said that was the only minor minor thing!
Cecei was my masseuse and she was great! She was so friendly and made me feel right at ease. My favorite part of the massage was that the massage beds were heated. Yes you ready that right HEATED! It was heavenly. Another thing I really enjoyed about the massage was how knowledgeable Cecei was. Before we even started she had me place my legs «like a frog». This reduced any stress on the back and really changed the massage. One of my biggest complaints about massages in the past have been that they sometimes just get right into it without warming your muscles up. Then you are a lot more tense and its harder to relax. Cecei was great at warming my muscles up before trying to get knots out or getting more tough. This was prolly the best leg massage I have ever had, I’m not sure what she did, but it felt wonderful. Also the shoulder and head massage is perfect, she does a great job with that as well. For the first time ever I had my face massaged, it was weird at first, but I really liked it. I hold a lot of tension in my face and didn’t even realize it.
All of this greatness for $ 65!!! Originally I thought I would just go here for a one time thing, now I KNOW I will be back. If you want a great massage I would def recommend this place and Cecei!

**Disclaimer — I have no idea what this place does other than the one service I get, so this is more of a review for Kristina Black than the spa.**
I typically make it a point to get a massage every few months, but I recently tweaked my back somehow and needed one bad. For anyone that’s searched around in Bakersfield for a good Massage therapist, it’s hard to find a reputable place here in town that doesn’t have that creepy vibe to it. No thank you, I don’t need you to «finish» my massage for an extra $ 20.
When I read the earlier reviews for Kristina, I was optimistic. Yay, an actual professional! I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early, and after she was done with her previous customer, I was shown back to her room. Her work space is clean, quiet, and decorated about like you would expect. She came in a few minutes later and went to work on me.
Two things made it better than normal —
1) this lady has death grip strong hands.
2) she doesn’t clam up and work silent the whole hour. She’s friendly and makes polite conversation if you like.
Her massage was relaxing and thorough. I walked out an hour later feeling much more relaxed. Granted, I knew I would be sore today from it, but that will pass along with the knots she worked out. I’m looking forward to my next days off from work so I can make another appointment with her.

Got a facial and partial massage by Donita. She is awesome! My skin looked and felt so much better.

Had a massage done by Kristina, wow! That woman knows what she’s doing! She is magical wether she is using her hands or hot rocks. I refer anyone who wants an amazing massage to Kristina. You won’t be disappointed

A massage by Kristina Black is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. Her technique is amazing. I have issues with chronic pain and she tailors the massage to what I need. I have noticed that my pain levels have reduced significantly in the last several months that I have been receiving massage therapy from Kristina.
In addition, Kristina is also friendly, funny, and a happy soul, which adds to the positive experience.

I have had over 8 massages by Kristina B, and by far she is the best I have ever come upon she, ask what you liked worked on, seem to find the spot always and workes it out, she can go from a soft to a hard massage (i like medium), her technique, is very unique, and very enjoyable, she goes from your standard massage to what i call the Kristina massage, def different and precise, and by far the best massage ive ever had, and i have been getting them for 15 plus years. It dosent get any better, I recommend 1.5 hour massage, as you will never want to leave, thank you Kristina, for your professional service, and total relaxation. 5 stars.

I’ve gotten a few massages done by Kristina B., and they have been some of my best massages! I have some problems with headaches and have been to many massage therapists to try to help with this problem, and though the massages were all nice, they didn’t really help with my headaches. When I went to Kristina, I told her my main reason for coming in, and she she actively worked on the spots that could be causing my headaches. This was the first time I felt that a massage therapist cared enough about me and why I was there, to try to help me! I also sometimes feel awkward of talking to the masseuse while I’m on the table, but Kristia is so nice and easygoing I was put at ease right away. I would reccomend Kristina to anyone looking for a massage!

I was in town on business for just 24 hours. Highly stressed I Unilocaled day spas in Bakersfield and came across this one. I was looking forward to giving it a try just based on the friendly crew picture and the few, but good reviews. I booked a massage .
I was a little surprised when I wasn’t really asked anything on the phone even after saying I had never been there before. I filled the girl in on my needs (I don’t remember her name) honestly, she didn’t seem too interested. Since I was new to the area I left my hotel early to make sure I wasn’t late. I got there really early figuring I’d just relax in a relaxing room before hand. I was a little surprised that they didn’t have a relaxing room, just a tiny little space with really old magazines and lukewarm water for tea. Oh well, it was half the price of any day spa in the bay area that I come from so I was OK with that tiny room.
Pretty soon my appointment time comes (4:30) and goes so I step out into the reception area and asked something, I don’t even remember what but the girl behind the counter said something like «he will be right out». «He?» I didn’t know it was going to be a man. I’ve NEVER booked a massage and had it be a man. There was just no way I was going to get a massage by the man that just walked out of the back that very second calling my name. I’m sure he was nice and all but I just couldn’t believe that girl didn’t say anything on the phone. Especially after I told her it would be my first time there. She said I could reschedule… for TUESDAY, and it was WEDNESDAY. I told her on the phone I was there for 1 day and in person that I was just there for the day. I told her that she should have told me on the phone that it was going to be a man then I just left.
So basically, this is more of a NON review since I didn’t get anything but wasted my time and left town without the massage I really really needed! Oh well, now I see why I pay the big bucks at home!

This is the only place I truly I miss since I moved out of Bakersfield!
I would make it a point to treat myself at least once a month. They offer just about every treatment you can think of.
I have always had my facials done by Rosemary and my massages by Samantha.
Rosemary can specifically tailor your facial to the needs of your face. I can honestly say my complexion has improved 100% since seeing Rose. She is very gentle yet thorough and my face always felt fresh and had a wonderful glow afterwards.
Samantha always gave wonderful massages. I even got a scrub from her. Amazing. I think I might have fallen asleep a few times too!
The spa itself is beautiful and is very relaxing. They sell different types of candles and the place always smells wonderful. I often would schedule my facial then have a light lunch then have my massage. (They have a local sandwich shop that you can order from) You can eat out on their serene patio and enjoy some sun before your next treatment.
Bethany is so professional and sweet. (And she dresses so stylishly) Overall this day spa is so welcoming! Block out your day if you can or bring a friend or significant other for a day of relaxation!

Oh My Goodness! It’s as if I was in the desert and I came across an oasis! I’ve been traveling up and down the central valley for the last 4 weeks and my body was s-​c-​r-​e-​a-​m-​i-​n-​g for some care. I found Pure here on Unilocal and it was the best choice I made to see them.
1) Had waxing services from Rosemary. Don’t go anywhere else, she’s the only one I’ll go to here in Bakersfield from here on out. Professional and fun.
2) Had a facial from Britt. What an angel. I almost started drooling and my skin feels amazing.
3) Had a massage from Thomas. One of the best massages I’ve ever had. If you are into energy flow with your massage, this is your person. If you want fluffy, don’t pick Thomas, I’m sure they’ll have someone else that’s a better fit.
They have great packages and so worth the time and money to go there. Great environment, friendly staff — Bethany is a doll!
