From the time we walked in we had top notch service drinks and food we will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant.

Called 20 minutes ahead for two fish burritos the guy said he would make them special order for $ 24 and that they would be ready in 20 minutes… I show up 20 minutes later he takes forever to ring me up and then finally put in the order… not cool when I’m on the road and in a hurry. Please don’t tell me it will be ready in 20 minutes and then waste my time.

I was greeted by a hostess who brought my beverage and then my waiter Mario who took my order. Very timely service attention. I ordered the 3 Chile Relleno Combination plate. Nice little restaruant,(located where Santiago’s on H street used to be.) My order from start to fisnish took 14 minutes. They started getting busy around 6pm. The entire parking lot was full for a Friday evening. The bar is fairly large and the restaruant is clean. The choices are vast on the menu. I was not disappointed. For only $ 12.95 for the three chile Rellenos combination plate was a great value and tasted fresh. I would recommend Los Aguactaes! Next time I will have to sit in the bar. That’s where the music was at. Great dine in experience.

Don’t EVER order the Chile Verde. I sent the Chile verde back and ordered the Carne asada instead. I had to send that back too!!! My parents swore by the sea food fajitas which is what they had ordered and I still was not digging it! I tried to like this place I just could not. I will give it another shot as 1 bad experience shouldn’t spoil it entirely!

It was a long work week 50+ hours and Friday night so I was ready to have a good meal and some margaritas. So we thought we would try this place. The service was killer very friendly and not rushed after we finished our meal. She ordered the fajita trio, it was very good, but unfortunately I ordered the carnitas plate for $ 14.50. We came on a Friday and I could tell it was not fresh. It was grey and tasteless, very chewy like gum. It was a bummer working hard all week and eating that, but I was hungry and threw all the salsa and pepper on it to get it down. Mabey I’ll come back and order something else, cuz the staff was very friendly and my girls food was good.

This place is one of my favorites for a couple of reasons, the food is tasty(especially the molcajetes) and because it’s very close to my home. The downsides(to me) of this establishment is the wait can be long and sometimes they fail to acknowledge you when you arrive, the music in there can be loud, and weekends they have a loud mariachi. Some people enjoy this type of atmosphere but I don’t care for it. When I have dinner I want to be able to talk to the person in front of me without having to shout. It’s the only Mexican restaurant in the immediate vicinity so it always seems to be busy.

This place never fails to impress me. Their service is great, their staff are friendly, and their food is to die for. My favorite are their steak fajitas, but they have delicious Mexican Nachos, and enchiladas, too. Los Aguacates has so many options. You will not be disappointed by them.

This isn’t a place I’d pick usually, but the food is pretty good and the drinks are definitely the reason to come. Sit at the bar and let the bartender take care of you. Happy hour margaritas are the way to go. Nothing fancy, just cheap and strong! Now offering free munchies during happy hour too! Also a big fan of the table side guacamole!

I love the Cubana Torta. Fast Service and good jams playing. Ate guacamole with chips and had a huge Cup of Coca Cola.

Very disappointed and upset. Not only was my fajita horrible(other then the shrimp. I ordered the the fajita trio. Chicken steak and shrimp. The chicken was dry and the steak was chewy not flavor what so ever!) But my 4 year old didn’t get his food until after the regular ppl that sat at the table next to us. Service was ok. Will not be coming here again!!! Do not recommend to come here!!!

No real complaints here! Got the carne asada taco meal, tacos were very good and the meat was great(I’d ask for them on a separate plate if you don’t want them on top of your beans, as they are too big to place next to them!) Chips and salsa were good too! Pretty standard Mexican restaurant!

After the fairgrounds we were craving Mexican. This has the highest ratings closest to the fairgrounds. Although we enjoyed the location, we did not enjoy the service. The waiter barely spoke clear’ enough English. Communication was bad in turn caused our meals to come out opposite of what was ordered. Drink portions are big. Refills are not free. Food was good but not anything better or worse than any other place. Mediocre. 3 stars for portion, location and cleanliness. –2 stars for service and lack of comprehension.

This was my 1st time here. The service was great. Our waitress made our guacamole in front of us. She was done in jiffy.(Why can’t I do that at home?!) I ordered the Chile Relleno, which I usually never order, but I took a chance. Good thing I did because it was really good! I loved that it was not too spicy. I can’t comment on the drinks bcuz seeing that it was during my lunch hour, I’m limited to water,(ahem.you never know who’s reading this. aka, supervisor.) Anyway, give this place a try. Great for a quick lunch!

This place was highly recommended. So my hubby & I went there last night for dinner. It def felt like a mom & pop shop. It felt like I was walking into a restaurant in Mexico. It wasn’t as ‘glamorous’ in décor as a ‘Californian Mexican’ restaurant, like Mauricios… that is NOT Mexican food… that place is gross! I am Central American and I don’t care for the typical refried pinto beans & Spanish rice. I hate it actually. No matter what Mexican place you go to, expensive or not, it’s always the same type of beans and type of rice. So as a Central American, I was delighted to find out they had BLACKBEANS as an option to replace the pinto beans! Too bad they couldn’t switch out the rice. I had the Paisanos Carne Asada tacos. The meat had flavor guys. It was marinated and tasted very good. Big chunks of it too. My husband had the Carne Asada plate and he was really impressed with everything. My ONLY complaint… is that the guacamole appetizer is $ 6.25. They use 1.5 avocados and make it right there in front of you, which is good but I was expecting 5 whole avocados for that price. Oh their horchata was pretty good too.

Wonderful dinner. Had the fish special and it was amazing. Very friendly family run place. I can’t say enough about the quality of the ingredients. They seem to specialize in seafood dishes and do a phenomenal job with them. The good news is that I found my favorite Mexican place. The bad news is that it’s 300 miles from home. But I go to Bakersfield a lot and this place will be a «must visit.»

I can’t believe this place only has 2 reviews. My wife saw their ad on television and finally convinced me to give this place a chance. I am extremely picky with the Mexican restaurants I eat at, blame it on the 18 years I spent eating the delicious food my mom prepared. I was a little hesitant since there were not very many reviews on it. When we got there it looked a little small from the outside but it is actually pretty spacious. The staff was really nice and friendly when we walked in, and they seated us right away. There was only one other couple there and it worried me a little, but after only being there a few minutes 5 other parties with 4+ people came in The chips and salsa were really good! Nice and warm chips, FRESH salsa, it only took a few minutes for us to eat it and I actually ended up going through another basket of chips. They have quite a few things on the menu, and I really wanted to try something other than a typical asada taco. I ended up going with the chicken burrito a la diabla(devil burrito) and my wife got the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas. When they brought the food out I was really surprised, the portions were HUGE! The burrito was topped with cream, lettuce and sauce. It came with a side of rice, and beans. It was really good, a little smoky, a little spicy. The chicken was also nice and juicy. It had a lot of sauce on the burrito which was great because I was able to mix it into my rice. My wife’s fajitas came with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, and flour tortillas. They were also great, the steak, shrimp(which were big btw), and chicken were cooked perfect, very flavorful, and the grilled onions, peppers, and tomato added a great flavor to the dish. The bill came out to 33 $ very cheap considering all the food you get. We both really enjoyed both of the dishes; but agreed that next time we go we will split an entrée. We ate so much, and still had to take about half to go(I didn’t mind at all, it made a great meal later when I got hungry again)
