Got my husband an early Father’s Day gift, a hour Swedish massage by Kelsey. He came home and said she was an awesome masseuse and he will definitely be back for regular massages. The prices are very reasonable and everything is super clean. This place is a must-​try!

The most affordable and friendly Masage place in Bakersfield. You can not go wring with this place. I have been there three times and I enjoyed the deep tissue masage. They confirm with you through text once you make an appointment. Appointments are definitely a must as they are booked far in advance. They have various combo offers available too. Accept all credit cards.

A great start to our date night with a couples massage. The staff is knowledge and professional. The environment is quiet and clean. I will make this my go to spot when I need to relax.

Had my Swedish massage done here and it was the most relaxing experience! My masseuse was so nice and actually knew what she was doing! The room itself was really nice as well. Such a relaxing environment! Almost fell asleep! Will definitely be returning soon!

Went to get a massage because my daughter wanted to go. We found this place and wanted to give it a try. Very calm atmosphere and it seemed very clean. It was really nice and relaxing and the price is great. I plan on returning.

Came here for the first time and loved it. I went in with extremely tight shoulders and neck but Joy helped stretch me out and loosen me up. Definitely will be going back for Joy’s magical touch.

First time customer and I plan on returning. Jennifer was great! She was very knowledgeable in working on people that suffer from headaches/​migraines which is a plus in my book. She seemed to hit all the right spots. The establishment is nice and quaint. But on a busy 24^th St. Although, I didn’t feel that the noise of traffic drifted in.

Once again, my friends at Hands of Joy did not disappoint. Marie is my GIRL, y’all. She reads my body like a book, and I walk out every time feeling like a new person.
My husband and I are only in town once or maybe twice a year to visit family and get our American food, sun, and shopping fix, and HoJ has recently become a regular staple.
Their prices are reasonable, even competitive when you take advantage of the 10% Unilocal check in discount. We used to go to the Foot Reflexology on Stockdale when we needed a fix, but they’ve changed ownership and we’re not digging the new vibe there, so that’s when we discovered HoJ and we’ll never go back. Why pay $ 25 bucks for a mediocre foot massage when you can pay around $ 30 for an excellent full body massage?
Love this place. I just wish I could stuff Marie in my luggage when we have to leave Bakersfield to go back home. Two enthusiastic thumbs up (four if you count my hubby)!

Finally used my gift certificate for a one hour Swedish massage. What a treat! Sylvia was just what I needed. It’s located in an older building and because it is on 24^th street, that occasional loud truck or motorcycle can be a slight diatraction. Overall, a really great experience. Already looking forward to my appointment for next week!

I’ve heard that all the masseuse are great at Hands of Joy. I had Jen and Sylvia on 2 seperate appointments and they were both great! On both occasions, I left the place so relaxed and feeling much better. I am definitely coming back because I have another one scheduled for next week.
Finally, an affordable massage business with good customer service in town! With that, I am definitely a returning customer.

I called to book an apt for a later date but surprisingly there was an open spot that same day so I took it of course! Right when I got there they took me within minutes! I Had a full body deep tissue massage done today by Marie!
She provided excellent customer service by asking questions about what areas I preferred her to focus on which was my neck and back.
Throughout my massage she would check in with me making sure the pressure she applied wasn’t too much or too soft.
She seemed very knowledgable when talking about what areas she could tell were problem areas for me and she was right! She was very professional and made me feel comfortable!
At the end of my massage she took a hot rag and placed it on my back to absorb the oil left on and she let me know how much water I should take in after my massage and provided me a complimentary water!
First time here and I would highly recommend. Most places I know charge the same price or more for only half an hour but I got a full hour deep tissue and full body!

UPDATE: I received my second massage on the 23^rd with Jennifer and was severely disappointed from that experience. I told her from the get go that my lower extremities were bothering me the most due to working 12 hour shifts.
Upon my massage, she skipped my left arm, nearly dislocated my right shoulder (after I told her I had a history of a dislocated shoulder on that arm) and she did not massage my feet. She massaged my lower extremities with less pressure. I went in for a deep tissue. My shoulder massage was intense, but almost no pressure was applied on my legs. My calves were skipped as well and I was told my scalp was extra. I am not a large man. In fact, she was bigger than me so I don’t understand how no pressure was felt on my thighs but my shoulder massage was borderline painful.
She was «polite» during the massage, but I can’t help but wonder if this was done on purpose. Very unprofessional conduct.
I dare not complain. I’m just putting my review out there to let viewers know that though the services has the potential to be great, not everyone conducts themselves professionally. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

I received my first massage ever at Hands of Joy with Marie and it was a great experience. My appointment was at 10 in the morning and I noticed that the hallway was packed. I got the impression that this place must be good if folks are willing to wake up «early» to get a massage.
What sold me was the great customer service I received from my masus (not sure if I spelled that right), the wait time, quality of the massage along with the pricing. The pricing is GREAT and the experience was just as good.
Would definitely recommend. I plan to make this weekly or bi-​weekly experience if possible

Great value for your buck! Massages are reasonably priced. I’ve been around town trying different massage parlors. I like this place the best because it is near my work and home, prices are unbeatable, place is clean and have a great ambiance, staff is friendly and I’ve always had a pleasant experience when I go. The massages I get are just what I want! I’ve tried the Swedish and Deep Tissue massages and both are great… just depending on what I need when I go… a massage for relaxation or to take care of a problem area. I’ve received massages from Marie, Jennifer, Sylvia & Joy… they are all great!!! Joy is of course the best! But she is always fully booked. You need to book really early to get her. I have yet to try their other services and the other masseuses in the house!

Went in this afternoon and received a deep tissue massage by Sylvia (I hope I spelt it right). The place was GREAT! I called in the morning and luckily they were able to fit me in for the afternoon.
I’m a massage therapist in Vegas and was in need of a really DEEP intense massage. I’m usually very picky with my massages but Sylvia was able to really work on the areas that were tight. My scapulas were filled with knots and by the end of the massage I felt less tension and less knots.
My back feels so much better! I’m really glad I found this place and Sylvia ! Thank you so much ! If I’m ever in town again I’m definitely going to stop by !
