I have always feared the dentist. I have severe gag reflex and anxiety. The whole staff was friendly which helped me to relax. They were very patient with me and worked with me. Now I have a dentist I no longer fear. Thankyou Dr Ching.

My family and I are new clients at Southwest Family Dentistry. My two little ones had checkups and cleanings and did wonderfully and I feel that is due to the nice hygienists and dentists that work there. My husband and I both had our cleanings as well and are very happy with the results. The hygienists and dentists took their time and were very thorough. The office as a whole is very clean and well decorated. There is a play room for the kids that is closed off so you dont have to worry about running around after them. They are a multi-​specialty office which is extremely convenient as I will be going there to replace my crowns. I highly recommend this office and will have a pleasant experience as all of us had.

So I really hate going to the dentist. REALLY hate going to the dentist. I found this place on Unilocal one late Friday night when I was in so much pain, in need of a crown and root canal. Luckily they are open on Saturdays and where able to see me the very next morning. The entire staff was friendly, smiling and professional. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The wait wasn’t long, and the doctor explained EXACTLY what he was going to do. This was Dr. Ching. I expressed my dislike of pain and they gave me options.. All of which costs more money if your insurance doesn’t cover it but at least you have the option. I took the happy gas. By the time they started drilling in my mouth, I couldn’t have cared less what they where doing in there. They asked me often if had any discomfort and seemed to care that I was doing ok. I came back about a week later for them to complete the crown, which at the time of this review is working out well. This was done by Dr. «T» and an assistant (sorry I forgot her name, but she was great also).
I summation, if you are going to the dentist for anything other than a regular cleaning, its going to cost you. We all know that. These folk gave great, pain free service with a smile, and for that reason, Ill be back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ching’s for several years and couldn’t be happier with the level of professionalism.
The sterilization procedures for this office are MUCH better than anything else at any other office I have been to, the office administrator has a background in the medical field and has put in place procedures to prevent cross contamination.
I started my Invisalign treatment there several months ago and while braces are never enjoyable the staff has been more than professional making themselves available for any little questions I have and the doctor has been fantastic.
Would recommend to all of my friends and family!

The dentist and hygienist are great at this place of business however; this does not out weigh the unprofessional attitude of his office manager. I was a patient for many years but have been looking for a dentist with a friendly staff.

Our family is proud to declare ourselves very dedicated and devoted patients of Dr. Anthony Ching for nearly 25 years now. He is one of the most caring and conscientious dental professionals you will find, not just in the City of Bakersfield, but also most anywhere in the United States. He is truly wondrous in the manner in which he treats each patient, offering his time and incredible expertise with gracious generosity and professionalism rarely seen in this business. He is compassionate, and truly cares about the needs of each individual patient. His chair-​side manner is remarkably gentle, and I have never once experienced any level of severe pain while being treated by this incredibly professional doctor. Over all of these years, we have never once even contemplated seeking dental care elsewhere. Dr. Ching is the primary factor with regards to our personal level of satisfaction and good health. He genuinely cares about each individual patient, and takes the time to put each one at ease while also securing the best possible experience with minimal discomfort. Dental care is not inexpensive, but is fairly representative of the amount of schooling; education and training each doctor must obtain before becoming licensed to practice. An ethical doctor such as Dr. Ching must work in a symbiotic and approved manner with numerous insurance companies, and would not be in practice for very long if he performed unnecessary work which would ultimately not be processed or covered by the insurance carrier. Dr. Ching has worked with my family personally on numerous occasions with regards to payments, discounts, and any other manner in which a treatment may be reduced. Dr. Ching has a very busy practice, but has always taken the time to call us personally to discuss any matters with regards to procedures and billing. If any patient ever feels the least bit dissatisfied with any treatment plans, etc., he or she should take the time to discuss the matter openly with Dr. Ching. He will remove any and all apprehension, and work with the patient to provide the best course of treatment in accordance with their insurance or pocketbook. Dr. Ching is the best dentist in the City of Bakersfield, with a true mastery of skills synonymous with perfection. I am proud to recommend Dr. Ching for all dental needs, and hope others enjoy the same service we have come to know over nearly a quarter of a century. Thank you.

I took my five year old daughter who had four cavities. A Dr who I won’t name but works at the office, recommended extensive root canals and quoted $ 2300 for the entire treatment.
I thought this was unreasonable and questioned the necessity of root canals on a five year old who will eventually lose all of those teeth anyway. I took her to another dentist who confirmed my suspicion. New dentist said root canals for five year olds are unreasonable for the extent of her cavities and damages. I ended up paying less than $ 400 to get her teeth fixed at the new dentist and she has not experienced any discomfort or problems since.
Do yourself and your wallet a favor and don’t go here. They are either crooks or completely incompetent.

This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to, hands down. The receptionist and assistants were very welcoming, mellow, and patient. (Seems rare to find that in most dental offices where most workers are rude or over-​the-​top fake friendly) The dentist was amazing for explaining things thoroughly, having a sense of humor, and constantly asking if he was hurting me while extracting my wisdom teeth. I would recommend this dental office to everyone.

I found this place off of 1800dentist, and was able to get in pretty fast. They sent me a packet of all the paperwork I needed to fill out in advance with a map of the place and a list of what I’d need to bring for my first appt. The staff is really friendly and nice. They seem to be very familiar with their clientele. The place itself is pretty big. I’ve not waited more than 20 mins to be seen. Dr. Ching himself is a really nice guy and his demeanor definitely relieved my fear of dentists and dentalwork in general after a traumatic experience with my last guy. I’m really happy that they take my insurance.
