I was super nervous getting my hair colored at a new salon but all of my fears dissipated the second I walked in. Vanessa was amazing and did a great job with my foils. It was reasonably priced but not cheap – I would say average for the area and they scheduled me in next day(super uncommon for Seattle/Bainbridge). The atmosphere is really great and laid back, I’ve never enjoyed chatting with a hair stylist quite so much and she talked though exactly what I wanted and then gave me some pointers. A great sign was that she told me if it didn’t turn out how I wanted, she would fix it right there and then. No worries though, it was exactly right and she styled it beautifully! I’ll be back again for sure!

My first time haircut ever in Washington state… I was terrified going for a shorter cut. Given the options on Bainbridge for a haircut, either the salon is booked out for a month or you get someone wearing a pearl necklace to design your coif, I went here needing something done in a timely fashion and for me something«drastically’ new. Walking in the atmosphere is relaxed and professional. They use some of my favorite products like Aveda, which tells me they are conscious of not only beauty but health as well:) My mystery stylist was friendly, upbeat, and in mode. I instantly felt comfortable with her styling my look and not just giving me a cut. I have really long hair and I love a short cut. It takes me time to find a stylist who I trust with my hair because unlike men, I can’t keep mowing it over until it looks right(nothing against the Sinead O’Connor look wearers out there, I would love to be able to simply shave it every few weeks, but I simply can’t pull off that look.) I came in with the intention of sampling the talent before making my big leap and I can confidently say I am encouraged to let it rip for the next cut! Thank you Phoenix Rising for being sensible, available and skilled!

Paulette gave me the best haircut I have had in years and years, for as long as I can remember! I’m always skeptical to change hair dressers, but we moved so I was forced to find someone new. I felt so pampered and relaxed during the head message, and her products are fabulous(but how can you go wrong with Aveda and Bumble & Bumble.) The salon is well lit with many large windows, fantastic music, and a great overall handy location in Winslow. I would say walk, not run, to Phoenix Rising! B/c I will go nowhere else ever! :)

I highly recommend Dominque she has been so fantastic! Cutting edge knowledge on all the latest techniques. She meets and exceeds my expectations every time I see her. When I first found Phoenix Rising in 2007 I was lucky enough to meet her and ever since my Mom, Sister and I have been seeing her. Recently, I went from blonde to brown-black hair and she nailed it! Dominique is so confident in her abilities I would trust her to do anything with my hair. It always comes out great! If your thinking about color, getting a fun new haircut or just about anything related to hair, Dominique is it.

I have been seeing Rebekah at Phoenix Rising for years now. I trust her completely. I just show up and she does whatever she thinks would look best on me. I give her no input at all. I have baby fine hair and she is able to make it look fantastic! Each cut and color tends to last on me a long time because she does things in such a way that the grow out is graceful. The people at Phoenix are very nice and friendly. The provide complementary coffee or tea and use Bumble and Bumble product lines. Please note that Rebekah is quite popular(for good reason) and you should expect to book well in advance. Although, all the stylists at Phoenix Rising are wonderful. You may find it easier to book with the first available. I would love it if you mentioned you read my review!

Awesome, unpretentious place to get your hair done. Word of caution: If you are after a totally edgy post-emo five-toned hair-expression, the gals here can do it but you’ll have to convince them that’s really what you really really want. Not cheap but reasonable.
