Specialties
We grow both drought-tolerant plants and and hardy tropicals, all suited to the Northwest climate — and Terri Stanley has been designing with them for almost 25 years. We do everything from short consultations to complete garden plans and work with several installation crews skilled in planting, irrigation systems, rock work, and maintenance. As an added feature, Terry Moyemont is an experienced garden photographer and videographer who work has appeared in Garden Design, Pacific Horticulture, and numerous other publications.
History
Established in 2003.
Mesogeo is a continuation of Terri Stanley’s long history as a garden
designer on Bainbridge Island. After her marriage to Terry Moyemont in 1999, the couple lived on Crete and traveled around the Mediterranean Basin learning about the plants, as well as the designs used in the gardens there. In 2003 they built a greenhouse and began propagation, from seed, of species from all five mediterranean climate zones (Mediterranean Basin, South Africa, Southwest Australia, Chile, and our West Coast). They also grow hardy tropical plants, such as bananas and hedychiums (decorative gingers), and canas, especially from areas of Southeast Asia. Most recently they were designated the official consultants for sand-plantings by the Glendon Bio Filter company, which produces the greenest home sewage system in the country, as well as the one most often used in Washington State.
Presently they are writing a book on the new «Fusion» garden movement: «A Garden in the Middle of the World».
