I needed a quiet and cozy place to rest for the weekend and I found Ashton Woods Retreat. It was absolutely perfect!!! Steven and Christopher were friendly and very welcoming of not only me, but my two little white fur balls. I stayed in the little cabin at the back and love every moment of it! Waking up in the morning, the first thing I see are all the giant trees around the cabin. I just loved being surrounded by all those trees and feeling like I was in some far away nature land yet have the Wi-fi access right from my bed. Spotlessly clean, a lot of attention to details, very accomodating, tasty and fresh breakfast, huge jetted tub, comfortable bed… hm… hope I didn’t miss anything. I just left this morning and I’m already planning my next visit. I can’t say enough how glad I am to have found them so close to Seattle!

Thoughtful. That was the word I kept sayin as I saw each new detail, «They’re just so thoughtful!» From the candles lit, fireplace going, music playing and wine waiting when we entered everything was subtly catered to our preferences. The room itself was phenomenal – zenlike in its clean lines yet cozy with the fireplace, rugs, and luxurious bed. The cottage is in the woods and you feel completely removed from the rest of the world. The jet bathtub is enormous and the bath towels are more like bath blankets you can wrap your whole body in. Steven and Christopher – the owners – did such a wonderful job making it a special anniversary for us. They arranged dinner for us at the Agate Pass Café – oh I’m writing a 5 star review on that too – and really went the extra mile on everything. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the bustle of the city and enjoy the sound of rain on the pines from inside this wonderful haven!

AHHHH mazing. If Unilocal could give six stars, Ashton Woods would easily earn it. My experience here from start to finish was as if the Four Seasons was located in the quaint forests of Bainbridge. Wine waiting for us upon arrival, after-dinner drinks in the cabin when we returned from dinner in town. Everything was customized to our personal desires. My partner and I do not have dogs, but this is one of those rare«more than dog friendly» dog-friendly places to stay. This place is a MUSTVISIT for dog owners looking for a romantic getaway.

Freshly baked scones and eggs, coffee, OJ and the Sunday paper delivered to your room, evenings socializing around the fire, wine chilling in the room upon arrival, 10 acres of trees, stylish rooms, dog friendly and only a 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Perfect for a weekend getaway and we LOVED it! Steven and Christopher take care of every detail. There are only 2 units, so make sure you book early. We’re already planning a return visit!
