Specialties
We are the Sasquatch Headquarters of Central Colorado, and we carry t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, bumper stickers, signs etc — all devoted to the theme of our favorite local legend: Sasquatch. We also carry a good supply of hiking and camping supplies (tents, hammocks, camping gear etc) and other gift items (rustic iron signs, local artwork).
History
Established in 2013.
The Bailey Country Store was built in 1878, and until it closed in 2009 (for four years) it was the longest continuously operated grocery store in Colorado. During its long history, the building has been used as a grocery store, theater, and personal residence (to name a few). We leased this historic building in 2012 and spent 9 months renovating the building, including constructing an entirely new floor, new shelves, and basically overhauling much of the structure. We opened for business on June 15, 2013 and we’ve been going strong ever since!
Meet the Business Owner
Jim M.
Business Owner
Jim and Daphne Myers took over the ownership of the store in 2013. They’ve lived in the Conifer/Bailey area since 2009, but were working mostly in Conifer. Prior to 2009 they lived for 20 years overseas, working for a large international organization in Africa and France. They love living in Bailey and hope to stay here a long time!
