Specialties

Southern Style Cooking, Local Seafood, Farm to Table Vegetables and Sinful homemade desserts.

We put Awendaw on the Map, by serving locals and travelers for over 22 years!

We are all about «Simply Good Food!»

History

Established in 1993.

Originally, our building was an old general store in the early 60’s to 1993. In 1993, we decided to convert the store into a restaurant and The See Wee was born. At this time, there were not any dining facilities from Myrtle Beach to Charleston on Highway 17. We wanted to give our local folks and travelers from far away places somewhere to eat, similar to what they would eat at their Grand-mama’s or Mama’s house for Sunday dinner.

We have kept the building’s interior and exterior pretty much as it was when it was a general store to maintain those long ago times that may have been forgotten by some and for those that have no knowledge…

Meet the Business Owner

Mary R.

Business Owner

Ms. Mary was born and raised in Awendaw. Her Mother’s side of the family are Magwoods and Father’s Thames. Both sides have produced many entrepreneurs, Mary included. She is a pioneer and had the vision many years ago to own and operate a business that would serve the local community, as well as those traveling through town. It is said that «she put Awendaw on the Map!»

Ms. Mary loves to cook and is continuously striving to ensure that all customers leave the See Wee Restaurant well satisfied. Most days you will find Ms. Mary working along side See Wee chefs, waitstaff, as well as stopping to greet old and new friends.
