We Train Dogs specializes in boarding and training for dogs of all breeds and ages. We offer boarding in our home on 1.5 fenced acres. All of the dogs stay inside our house and get tons of attention and playtime. Our training programs are customized to fit you and your dog, and we have several different options for basic obedience training and behavior modification. History

Established in 2002.

Werner and Elizabeth Girard started We Train Dogs in 2002. Since then, they have worked with thousands of dogs of all breeds and ages.

Meet the Business Owner

Elizabeth G.

Business Owner

Elizabeth got her start in dog training as a teenager by raising Seeing Eye puppies for Guide Dogs of the Desert. Elizabeth continues to work closely with the organization, offering both training and boarding services for the guide dog puppies as needed. She is also a coach for a local Special Olympics equestrian team.

Prior to starting her own business, Elizabeth worked with Mike Perez of MP Canine in Lakewood, California. Mike trained K9’s for the Los Angeles Police Department for many years, so Elizabeth got training in both obedience and protection work.

Elizabeth is a certified evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program. She has been interviewed by The Riverside Press-​Enterprise and has had articles published in multiple magazines. Elizabeth has been an active worker with many rescues in both Southern California and the Phoenix area.
