Dr. Clausen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry. He has provided gentle dental care to the families of the greater Phoenix area for over 20 years.

I believe continuing education is vital to maintaining successful treatment outcomes. In addition to my national affiliations, I participate in a local comprehensive care study club where we make presentations and share knowledge on complex interdisciplinary dental cases. We also provide orthodontic care, and I have studied under some of today’s leading clinicians amassing over 1,200 hours of continuing education in this field alone.

I have never had any major dental work done before so needless to say I was extremely nervous to go to the dentist and have a crown put on after chipping one of my teeth. My first visit to Doctor Clausen and his staff was a great one! They made me feel very comfortable and were very gentle throughout the entire process. It really helped calm my nerves about the whole process. I would definitely recommend Gentle Family Dentistry to anyone in need!

Based on past experiences with dental offices I have tried to avoid going to the dentist. I’ve always felt that the dentist were over charging and very unfriendly. After my first appoint with DR. Clausen my views have completely changed. The office is very clean and organized, you don not smell that terrible dental office odor. As a matter of fact, they went above and beyond by having aroma therapy scents in each room. The assistance were friendly and gentle which was a plus. They listened to me and addressed my concerns. I would recommend this dental office to all of my friends and family. DR. Clausen made this experience seem less and comfortable. This will be the only dental office I will visited going forward.

I haven’t been to a dentist in three years. I was nervous about finding a dentist in the area. The staff at Gentle Family Dentist were friendly and knowledgeable. I had a great experience and have recommended to family and friends. If you’re looking for a dentist in the West Valley, you will not be disappointed in choosing Gentle Family Dentist!

I moved to the area a year ago and I’ve been hesitant get my teeth cleaned because I would have to find a new dentist. Finally I made an appointment with Gentle Family Dentistry and I’m glad I did. They were amazing!
I was blown away by the office itself. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. They even had essential oils in the exam rooms :)
The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. They made me feel very comfortable and welcome.
This was my first visit and I got a cleaning. She was very gentle and told me funny stories as she was working.
The whole experience was very enjoyable and I even got a new patient gift! I would highly suggest trying them out if you haven’t already.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Clausen since I was about five years old, if not younger. As a kid I was always excited about getting little toys from the basket behind the counter, the baskets now reside underneath the chairs in each room. To this day, (my last appointment was today) I could not imagine having a better, more experienced and friendly Dentist poking and prodding at all my little chompers to make sure everything is going along well. When I started seeing my now, fiancé, he never went to regular cleanings or had even really seen a dentist for that matter. We made an appointment for him to see Dr. Clausen as well, we got all cavities filled along with a few other small problems taken care of, and now his teeth are in tip top shape! I hear stories from friends and co-​workers about how bad of shape their teeth are in, or how one broke just by chewing a carrot. (Not the diamond kind either) I immediately start bragging about Dr. Clausen and what a wonderful job he does every time I go in for a cleaning. For anything more extensive than just a regular cleaning, you get to pick out a movie and watch that while they are working on your teeth! I will be seeing Dr. Clausen for many more years to come!!!

We love Dr. Clausen. We started seeing him in 2006 until we moved across the country in 2012. Sadly, we haven’t found a dentist who can hold a candle to Dr. Clausen in our new town. I always felt he was honest about our needed care –no questionable fillings or crowns.

My stepfather is a loyal patient of Dr. Clausen since 1995 and I’ve been going here since 2004 when I moved here in AZ. I highly recommend this place. The staff here are really nice and friendly. They would send you reminders for your appointment & even a birthday card for your birthday. Dr. Clausen is an excellent dentist, very caring and professional. My hygienists Trish & Shanti are very nice and pleasant to talked to, they clean my teeth really good.
