Getting blood drawn is really mundane. But the staff here makes the time worthwhile. Very personable and kind. A great experience.

Not the first time I have used this location. They are usually busy but that is fine providing they work efficiently and in a timely manner. This morning’s visit was terrible. The waiting area was pretty crowded. I signed in and was told I would be called soon. After 30 minutes and several people who came in after I did were taken care of I began to become agitated. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I waited 10 more minutes before approaching the reception area to see what the hold up was. The sign in sheet had a line drawn through my name with 6 more names crossed out under mine. I asked why was my name crossed out and was told that«oh, I called your name and someone else must have come up». Really??? When I finally saw the technician he poked the needle into my arm but was unable to find a vein. On the third try he jabbed deeper and blood began to flow. He was totally matter of fact about this as if it were routine. I don’t know why I rated them even 1 star. I will definitely not be returning!

When I changed physicians, the new one asked me to get blood-work done and directed me to Quest Diagnostics in Avon. I went on a Saturday morning without an appointment and walked in around 8:45AM. I was pretty surprised at how crowded the waiting room was. The room has about 20 of the old school vinyl-cushioned industrial looking waiting room chairs you’ve seen in every doctor or dentist office your entire life. I discovered that there is a protocol to checking in at the receptionist station. If you have an appointment, you check in at the desk to let then know you are there. If you are a walk-in(like I was) you sign your name on piece of paper and they try to work you in between appointments. I easily grasped the concept, unlike a walk in customer who stormed the desk(«Did you forget about us?») wanting to know why people arriving after she did were served first. Anyway, after about a half hour, my name was called and I went to the registration desk to formally check in — «doctor’s paperwork and insurance card, please». I sat back down and was called about ten minutes later. The lab technician was super nice, and had such a gentle touch I barely felt the needle. She worked real fast– no exaggeration-I was in and out of the exam room in five minutes. My first impression of Quest was pretty good– big waiting room, nice people at the front and back of the lab, and a very accessible location.
