Meet the Business Owner
Bob N.
Business Owner
From washing dishes when I was 14 to bussing tables and eventually working my way into the kitchen at Portofino in Strongsville when I was about 20, I always knew I wanted to own my own restaurant.
I had that opportunity at 23 to buy into a partnership at Portofino and was in charge of running the kitchen for the next 4 years. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing, influential chef’s along the way. Carmella DelBusso showed me how to never cut corners and make some amazing Italian food. Mike Turcola came on board and blew my mind every day with his creativity and incredible work ethic.
In 2000, I drove by this amazing old house in Avon, I called the number on the sale sign and negotiated the deal to start renovating what would be Nemo Grille.
After 16 months of 12 hour days and learning more than I ever wanted to learn about construction and city politics, Nemo Grille opened on Monday, July 23, 2001.
