History

Established in 2002.

Kevin Mihaly has a relaxed and easy going style and is fascinated by the human spirit that is unique to each individual. He captures that distinctive spirit in every photograph, resulting in a unique work of art, finished on the finest paper or canvas and masterfully matted and framed.

Prior to the opening of his current studio in Avon, Connecticut, Kevin’s studio was located in Tokyo, Japan where his work was featured in Asian and European magazines. His work is also displayed in Japanese homes and galleries and enjoyed by families around the world.

Mihaly Portrait Design is owned and operated by Kevin Mihaly. Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York and London, England and he received extensive photographic training at the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts. Previously, Kevin worked for ESPN. He joined the network when it was a fledgling two year old organization and for 20 years worked within the production department contributing to achieving the growth and reputation ESPN enjoys today. During his tenure with ESPN, Kevin was honored with three Emmy awards recognizing his ability to tell stories by using creative visual elements along with meaningful narrative.
