History

Established in 2011.

The water colors of its décor and mouth-watering menu distinguished this dairy gourmet restaurant, which opened in May 2011. Fresko — Spanish for fresh and its K also stands for Kosher — is a neon-lighted space with sharp, modern Italian furnishings by the Agsia Group, and daring dairy cuisine, a gourmet combination perfected by owner Abraham Getzel. Originally from Venezuela, he sought to amaze diners with a surprising fusion of his homeland’s exotic fare with American-kosher flair. «The combination of flavors in our dishes is a pleasure for the palate,» he says. «Each plate is a special experience, and the bright colors create a delightful dining ambience.» The true sensation is the eclectic menu popping with dishes from Asian and Mediterranean countries. Executive Chef David Posner boast an impressive, international culinary background with stints at the finest venues in Caracas, the capital of his native Venezuela, at Daniel in New York, and Nobu in Miami.

This restaurant is located near Loehmans in Aventura. It is nice simple and clean. Service is ok, just ok! Lots of people at lunch. Food is also ok, salads are good, nice size and missing dressing… Mine in particular with blue cheese was also missing blue cheese… Other than that, it was ok.

There are always… okay…yeah, that’s about it. It’s a bit expensive for a breakfast place, but it’s Kosher and it’s a specific type of dairy, so I understand that a bit. And it’s in Aventura. I get that too. Yeah. I guess what I am saying is nothing is amazing here. Food is okay. Service is okay (to sometimes below standards). Coffee, eh, it’s okay, I got cinnamon put on top of my cappuccino last time I was there. Not sure I have ever seen that, but it was weird and I asked for a new one. Again, everything is just… okay.

Shabbat over at 6:15 pm. Stood outside for 30 mins while the door was locked and not open until
8. As we waited patient until 8:10 they were waiting on a takeout order that obviously was much more important than the dozen people waiting outside. After letting everyone on they informed us that there will be no sushi for 40
mins., which would translate to over an hour eventually and realistically. Goodbye, Fresca, you’ll be hard pressed to have loyal business after the season when you treat your year round customers like second class because your big order was your focus tonight!!!

Fresko is my go-to fish/dairy restaurant. In fact, as of this writing, I’ve been there almost every day the past month. The sushi is among the freshest I’ve ever had. My favorite dishes are sushi pizza (Salmon), cheese ravioli in pink sauce (I alternate with cream sauce), tuna steak, sea bass, any of their incomparable cheesecakes, and much more.
The service is as amazing as the food, with the wonderful staff serving the items timely and with a smile.

This place was wayyy overpriced. I paid $ 17 for spring mix, goat cheese, and pecans. That is not at all an exaggeration; that’s exactly what the salad was. The menu online listed the price as $ 10, which would have been reasonable, but there is no way I would have ordered from there if I had known the price increased 70%. The manager said they don’t update the menu online. So beware. For the same price I could have had a much more gourmet and delicious entrée from Miami Juice. In an even nicer setting, too. This is Starbucks for health food at ridiculously high prices. I’d avoid it if I were you. I won’t be returning.

I really liked the sweet potato fries and the wrap. This is their saving grace.
The waitstaff was not trained. There is hope for them! Never fear!
The owner/manager/whomever had just gotten these earpieces for the waitstaff to wear. Which is a really nice, let’s have fun in the work place, gimmick. Great.
In the meantime we had been seated, ordered and the following had NOT happened:
1. We were not served water and therefore requested it… then they only brought one cup of water.
2. Neither of us ordered sushi yet the sushi setting the table was preset with remained on our table even after the food came, which really crowded the table.
3. The waitress did not bother to write down our order so came back to confirm our request.
3. Thus it continued. I felt like I had to train the staff on things that are pretty basic. Things they would know if only someone thought to tell them. It was not crowded so I can’t cut them slack for that. The waitstaff was not rude, just not trained.
I really liked the mango in my wrap and they were accommodating regarding allergies.
Also, when I asked for whip cream for my hot chocolate they gave us a generous amount.

My wife and I eat Kosher only. We like to support Kosher establishments however given the cost of food in most of these restaurants we have come to expect more. We are long time patrons of this restaurant therefore were quite surprised by the quality of service and food when we visited with some food friends of ours. We waited almost 45 minutes for the wrong order and our toddler/infant children received their food after the adults. How is that appropriate? They decided to reduce the bill by 15% and felt this to be fair. By the way 12 dollars for a plain egg omelet with recycled looking veggies? There aren’t a lot of kosher choices in Aventura and North Miami. Now there is one less.

What an awful place. Overpriced, awful serving and awful food.
So we come in for take-out, placed our order (one salad, one roll and one wrap)… No place to standby while waiting for next to the tables where people are eating, beong moved by the servers (becaue of course, we are in their way)… For 25 minutes until finally our food was out.
We make it back to the office, and my food (the salmon wrap) was a small and skinny lettuce wrap with some, barely visible smoked salmon and nothing else… Not even sauce!
A total waste of money, keep out of this place!!!

Hidden gem, surprisingly pleasant and tasty. *btw they have g-free pasta — yay! I was not sure at first because it is a weird hodge podge of cuisines–
i.e Kosher meets Japanese meets Argentinian meets juice bar. I would’ve given 4 stars but it is a bit on the pricey side.

Great food and service. Highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tower… it is the only reason I go. It tends to be a little bit busy on Sundays for lunch but when there is no wait, the service is great and the food comes out fast. Only downside is that the sushi is not that cold but it is still fantastic. If you like sushi, get the Red Dragon.

I had the Tri Fungi pasta and it was amazing. Hubby and I agreed it was not a 2 $$ type of place. More like a $$$ but overall it was great. Green lemonade was refreshing along w/the Japanese salad being super delish. I would give it another try but the place is kind of too pricey for what it offers.

We only had the sushi here so my rating is specifically for their sushi.
Kosher sushi is known for nt being the greatest but this goes beyond gross. The rice was like pudding, I am not sure how fresh the fish was. The rolls were just not good. The price was ridiculously high, $ 90 for 2 rolls, 1 salad, 1 tartar and one other dish … It just doesnt make sense. I dont think we will ever go back, I am grossed out just thinking about it.

Poor service. I had to repeat the server the order 4 times to The waitress even though it was just a tuna tartar… I waited 20 minutes the get greeted. The food came on time but I wasn’t even good, very bland and I didn’t see the pineapple chutney it said it came with. I’m giving it 2 stars because the strawberry fashion smoothie was very good and refreshing. But I’m not coming back.

This is a great option for a kosher restaurant in Aventura. The décor is nice and fresh. They serve sushi and dairy dishes like pasta and fish. The sushi is pretty good overall. They also have some tasty appetizers.

Fresko is ok. I tried this place out in a Groupon so that was cool. The desserts are great, but the dinner menu should improve. I got the cheese ravioli and felt the price did not match what was on my plate. My husband is a great cook and could have prepared better dinner for us at home.
Overall though, I don’t see myself coming back except for some dessert.
