History

Established in 2012.

The Delicious Story Behind Taste of Catalina Food Tours

Taste of Catalina Food Tours was born in the fall of 2012 and is a family-run company. Owner, Erin was inspired by the Chamber-sponsored event where visitors and locals alike mingle around town and taste sample menus from various restaurants. Having taken other food tours around the country, Erin wanted to bring this unique experience to Avalon for others to enjoy.

Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co. has won the Best Taste of Dessert several times during the Annual Taste Around of Avalon, and recently also earned Best Non-Alcoholic Drink in 2012. The Taste Around is a Chamber-run event that only occurs one time a year where everyone tastes the best food and drink from different establishments around Avalon.

Erin decided it would be great to have this experience more than just once a year! Thus, Taste of Catalina embarks upon this adventure with visitors and locals alike to taste around Avalon many times a week throughout the year!

All of Erin’s summers were spent on Catalina Island while growing up. The Rousso family has been visiting/living on the Catalina Island since the 1920’s! In 2003 Erin, her husband Gene, and their three boys moved to the island full time when they purchased the Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co. Erin began working for the former William Wrigley Jr. summer home in 2005, The Inn on Mt. Ada, where she currently helps run this upscale historically registered B&B as an Innkeeper. Embarking upon the One and Only Food Tour offered on Catalina Island has been a mouthwatering adventure!
