Avalon Bay Company

Went to Catalina as a stop on a short cruise. We got off the boat, and I was freezing, so wandered around town, looking for a jacket or other outer wear. We happened on this boutique, and thank goodness. I was so lucky to find a beautiful cardigan sweater for a very reasonable cost.

Very nice customer service and selection! Went to buy one thing and fell in love with several things ! Not cheap or even affordable for most things quite honestly but the quality looks great and you get what you pay for. I would rather have a high quality thing I can wear and remember this trip rather than a cheap tourist shirt.

If you know Anything about Catalina you know EVERYTHING is pretty EXPENSIVE on the island so you need to come prepared and bring it with you, which was my plan but I had a brain fart!
On my way over I realized that I FORGOT my flip flops. What’s the big deal forget about it and suck it up but I needed to take a shower and there was NO WAY IN TARNATIONS I was going to go barefoot and step on the tile in that shower and risk going home with some DEADLY FOOT FUNGUS or flesh eating disease! Not everyone has the same hygiene you do. What to do? Buy some.
I have been in this shop several times. They have NICE quality things and they are NOT OVERLY EXPENSIVE and most of the time something is on SALE!
So I popped in and was looking around for some flip flops. I wasn’t looking to get something SUPER DUPER expensive I just wanted to take a shower at the Casino Way Showers WITHOUT getting some sort of foot fungus from have to step on the tiles.
This place had EXACTLY what I was looking for. Roxy flip flops and less than $ 20. SCORE! The flip flops were NOT the cheapy kind that fall apart after you wear them twice. They were colorful and comfy and I can wear them again.
Then as I was walking around I also eye spied a NICE little mini cross-​body bag that can either be a purse or wristlet. IT came in 3 colors and I decided it was my duty to take one home especially after I saw it was REAL leather and it was ONLY $ 32 buck-​a-​roos! SCORE AGAIN! The NICE sales lady rang me up and I was on my way! Always easy here.
This store is ALWAYS SUPER organized, clean and the service is FRIENDLY! NO ONE is ever PUSHY nor do they ever follow you around like they think you can’t be trusted to walk around by yourself. I mean think about it your on an island where are you going to go? STOP THIEF STOP! They’d have you in cuffs before you could swim a mile away.
They also sale beach or island type clothes, as well as, bathing suits should you run off and forget that. You have accessorize with some jewelry or a hat and they even have larger bags that you can put all your crap in when your headed to that private beach on the other side of the casino or strolling the island! If your in need of some sturdy shoes just for walking around that have tat too and they carry both kid and adult sizes for both clothes and shoes as well as both men and women items.
Perfect place to shop if you forget something or miss the boat and need a change of undies, something to sleep in or just a cover-​up for the day. You REALLY can’t go wrong here!

Nice little clothing boutique for women. Had a nice window display that lured me inside to try on some roxy sandals but they didn’t have my size. Ended up buying a t-​shirt anyway. Not any more expensive than the other t-​shirt shops on the island, but the feel of the store is more boutique and less tourist trap. Recommend!

Nice trendy clothing boutique for women of all ages. They carry name brand clothing and shoes as well as jewelry and souvenirs. Bought a comfy cozy Catalina sweatshirt for $ 16! They also carry super adorable nautical themed clothing!

Got me a nice cap and Roxy sandals. The cap was at typical price, but the sandals ($ 24) were a steal compared to how much I bought them for in Hawaii ($ 40 – 50) and I got them in rainbow colors. Love em!

Ok, I am home! I rarely get out to do much shopping, so I use are annual vacations to spend time locating those really unique pieces. I find shopping for winter, is best done in Chicago, summer the Hawaiian Island and our local Laguna Beach, so what does Avalon have to offer?
After going into many, many, tourist shops I almost lost my desire to continue to browse through the shops. Then I came upon Avalon Bay Company. Like a restaurant, read the list of appetizers, which set the tone for the rest of the experience.
The Avalon Bay company had several excellent brands, including Brighton, and Sketchers. Brighton? Now my eyes are open to all the other brands in the store, knowing the buyer had above average taste. I got a cute cover-​up for my niece, a Brighten piece and a Roxy sweatshirt for myself. I love the beach stuff.
I could have spent a couple hours in this single shop. It was by far one of the three best in the Avalon. If you are looking for bargains, this is most likely not the store, but if you want quality, this is for you.
Although, this shop is one of my favorites, each and every shop has a story, a history, and all with very nice and helpful people. Catalina’s people are simply amazing.
