Zinger Hardware is where you go to find Clever Solutions to Every Day Problems. The store setting evokes the old fashion neighborhood store. Yet the store is loaded with the craziest new products to the market. Zinger will be your new favorite store. Our employees guarantee it!

Our employees are trained to offer not only excellent customer service but to provide solutions to customers everyday problems. I watched Bryant our newest sales member help someone with their canning supply needs. The customer was so thrilled that Bryant received a jar of fantastic jelly a few days later.

Business Owner

I am a veteran retailer with 35 years experience in the retail and service industries. I started working the summer of 1976 behind my parents register in a small town in Upstate New York. I then went to work for an IGA store Gillette’s Market. A brilliant entrepreneur who taught me to appreciate the art of retailing.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from The University of Hartford and a Masters in International Marketing from Tulane University.

I am the owner and founder of Zinger Hardware & General Merchant. It is with great pleasure to state our employees have developed our store into one of the strongest brands in the Austin Community. Thank you

I love this store for nick knacks, hostess gifts, outdoor furniture and my fav, pet toys and accessories. The owners bring their pups to work as well which I think is pretty stinkin fab!

Love it!
Zinger is one of the few still hidden «hidden gems» in Austin.
If you’re from Dallas, think of Gecko Hardware and you have a pretty good idea of what Zinger Hardware is all about. It’s kinda funky, kinda hippie, has a very friendly staff, lots of both staples and «I didn’t expect that here» items populate the inside and outside premises and all of these things make each visit to Zinger fun and rewarding.
It may sound crazy to you, but stop by and you will find yourself hanging out for 30 – 60 minutes (and probably pick up something you don’t yet now exists but that I know you will enjoy).

I went here to get some help with a small kitchen plumbing question and knew I would need help figuring out what parts I would need to buy. I live by a Home Depot but drove here to try to support a local business. I came in on a weekday evening and apparently nobody there new about plumbing. They thought I needed a specific part they had, but couldn’t find it. They looked for a few minutes and then basically said oh well and kind of just bailed. I couldn’t tell if they were still trying to help me, but then figured out they had. I ended up going to Home Depot and getting great customer service from a knowledgeable person. He explained what I needed and how it was hard to find one part for it, but we could still fix it. He gave me two parts that would fix my problem. I will not be going out of my way to try Zinger Hardware again.

I love this place. It’s local, it’s friendly and they have everything! If I’m working on a project they have it all. Great gift options and an all around friendly staff. Skip the big box stores and go here for a personal touch. The other day I purchased some bolts, nuts and fender washers with some Xmas gifts. ONE STOP SHOP! You can always Park close!

Outstanding privately owned hardware store. It is a great experience to browse through Zinger store. Lots of goods and also unique and novelty items. They are also the only ones that carry Probiotic natural cleaners. The staff is always very helpful and the store has more of a European feel to it.

This was not simply an unfortunate incident. This was a case of Mr. Ferweda continuing to misrepresent the covering on the chairs. I gave Mr. Ferweda the opportunity to stand fully behind his continued claims that the chairs were bicast leather. We offered in writing that if the chairs were actually bicast leather we would drop our claim, but if the chairs were in fact vinyl that Zinger would refund our purchase price. If Ferweda is so convinced the chairs are bicast leather why won’t he agree to this? I’m just saying, buyer beware!

Pretty cool store. Like other reviewers have stated, there’s something for everyone. Maybe to a fault… There are so many different types of products, from housewares to hardware to birdcages, that there isn’t a GREAT selection of any one thing. It’s a good place to explore but maybe not where to do all your shopping. I found a cast iron skillet at Central Market next door that was half the price of the same one at Zinger.

Zinger is not perfect and it is not a big box warehouse. They do not carry every single product you will ever need. However, they do carry a good range of hardware and tons of gifty stuff… I guess more than half the space is now non-​hardware. I’ve bought paint there, a composter, some hand tools, lots of bolts, rope, etc. Much faster and easier for me than a trip to Lowes. People are friendly and helpful.
Seems like more items are out of stock recently, which is generally not a good sign, but I hope the biz succeeds. It’s nice to have it in the hood.

I don’t know how you call yourself a hardware store when you don’t even have PVC pipe. I should’ve just gone to Home Depot which was about the same distance from where I was, but in the opposite direction. now I have to go twice as far to get there. What a waste of time and gas.
But hey, if you’re in to knick-​knacks this is the place to go!

Zoiks & zappers & zibblefloozers! I love this place! I searched high & low for purple plastic fake adirondacks & found them here :-) The man was so helpful on the phone and walked outside to make sure they had my color.
When I got there I was zingered by golly! Such a cool store with things for kids, cooks, dogs, cats, birds, outdoorsy types, indoorsy types, etc.etc. Next time I go I’ll have to give myself an hour or two to take it all in. Fun fun!

I locked my keys in my car in their parking lot and the whole family came out to help! They spent the time to try a few things and then ultimately rigged a hook out of a couple parts and voila :)

I went to Zinger Hardware to get a Bokashi composting system after I received a $ 75 off coupon from the city (heck yeah!). The staff was super helpful and friendly. One employee in particular (I wish I would have caught his name) knew a ton about composting and walked me through the entire process and how to use the system. They were still working out the kinks with the new coupon (figuring out how to enter it into the system), but were super apologetic. I didn’t mind waiting, chatting with the staff and other customers. One customer purchasing dog treats even broke off a piece of his beef stick and gave some to my dog, who I brought with me =)
If you want great customer service and unique products, go to Zinger! I’ll be back soon to purchase more Bukashi bran, and probably some lawn flamingos!

I really enjoyed this place. They have candy bugs! It is def a place you can find the perfect gift for the man who has everything. I got all the men in my family poo-​pori and let me tell you it is amazing. Love this place! The staff are super friendly too!

One of the better places in Austin to find fun, funky and functional items for home and garden. They literally have everything, whether you need paint, or hardware, or a unique gift for someone-​Zinger is the place.
And even if you don’t buy anything, you can easily spend an hour or two browsing.

I was in the market for some mango wood furniture. Zinger was one of several merchants listed by the manufacturer as a retailer in Austin. Zinger quoted a very competitive price and worked my schedule around delivery. One of the pieces had an irregularity and Zinger worked with me to arrange a return to the manufacture. They came to my home with a replacement and swapped it out.
They will work to earn your business and follow through with great customer service!

Zinger’s is always a lot of fun. Half hardware store, half gifties and other homewares, you can wander their aisles for a long time and come out with a zillion ideas of how to improve or redecorate your home. They carry more unique stuff than the usual Lowe’s or Home Depot. A little pricier, but I think worth it to find just the right item (and something not everyone has). I’ve always had great service here. Oh and they also have toys!

I heard about this place but never had the change to check it out until today. Upon walking near the front door they had a nice outdoor setup of lawn and decorative items. I then walk in and amazed how big this place is and loaded with all kinds of products. I spent some quality time walking up and down through each isle. It is a great place to explore where they have products like kitchenware, toys, hardware supplies, soaps, and decorative items.
