As of right now, Wright Chiropractic has 12 reviews and I glanced over them. I’ve never seen any establishment on Unilocal that had exclusively five-​star reviews across the board. I would have given them five stars regardless, but I feel even better doing it now since I seem to be in agreement with everyone. I have been seeing Wright Chiropractic for close to 15 years now. Dr. Billy has always been the one to take care of me and it seems that he has known me by my name since day one. I have a lot of trouble with my neck and my lower and middle back. Sometimes my neck gets so cramped up that I can barely move. That’s when I make an appointment to go see Dr. Billy. He has always been able to practically heal me good as new. This is a family run business and everyone here is completely friendly and helpful. Their prices are exceptionally reasonable and I wouldn’t consider getting any chiropractic work done anywhere else!

I was visiting from Chicago with my family and had a month prior pulled a muscle in my neck that two Chiropractors in my hometown had a lot of trouble relieving. After the flight it started acting up again on my left shoulder. Two sessions here made the trip tremendously better, and months later, it hasn’t acted up since. I don’t know what he did to adjust my neck, but he wasn’t scared to just rip into it, without a BS X-​Ray, and took his time allowing 20 minutes of ice followed by another minor adjustment which I think was key. His fairly sophisticated table also allowed a good angle of adjustment to the hips.
I don’t remember which Chiropractor I saw, Robert or James, but I’ve been to a few Chiropractors and physical therapists and they were the best. I joke with my wife we should visit Austin more often… suffering from AS, it’d improve my quality of life that much. I haven’t found anybody in Chicago that doesn’t seem to be just focused on upcharging services or products. This place tried to sell me *nothing* each time I walked out the door.

Dr Robert Wright is a miracle worker. He has the gentlest touch, so much so that you almost can’t believe there’s anything happening. But when you get off his table, you stand up a different person. He is Amazing. Worth every penny. Also insanely affordable. Cheaper without insurance, than any insurance copay, if you can believe that.
And so kind, friendly and funny. This family owned and run place is an absolute gem.

I have been fortunate enough to be seeing Dr. Billy Wright for the last 3 years while living in Austin. Referred by a native Austinite, Dr. Billy and Dr. Bob have a highly respected reputation in Austin for honest, ethical and effective treatments.
The office provides a truly Texas style friendly environment. Being a family run establishment, the doctor and family values of treating each patient with respect and a thorough adjustment is like no other.
What I love is the flexibility of their hours and scheduling of appointments. They have walk in and regular appointments available to meet everyone’s busy lifestyle. They are very easy to get in touch with and schedule. Above anything, they go out of their way to put you at ease and get you back to your regular life again without having to worry about chronic pain. Even since moving from Austin, I still make a visit to Dr. Billy for my «tune up’s»!

So the Wright Dr’s… Billy is the son and is maybe 45 or so. He rides to work with his Dad James each day. The place is unusual by todays standards. It is an old house on 12^th street downtown. Sr. has been there for many many years and Billy is third generation Chiropractor. When I go, I show up about 20 minutes before opening time and just sit on the porch swing. No appointment needed in the morning. I have seen father and son arrive together each time. Inside, it is like stepping back in time. They have these crazy old frankenstein tables that are probably 60 years old that allow fractional adjustments and inclines in many directions. They make very very subtle adjustments. These are not typical back crackers. After Dr. Billy felt my neck, he said what was wrong, then looked at my xrays that I brought. He was correct. Herniated disc at c6 and c7. He told me that what he was going to do would cause great pain the days after my visit and then it would be a bit better. Then I would have to return and he would do it again, but each time the pain would be less and less. He did very subtle pushes and pulls then took me back to a napping area that was dark and had deer mounts looking down on me. He came back after about 20 minutes and accessed my condition to make sure there were no ill effects. He helped me up and apologized in advance for the pain I would feel the next day… uhhh right… ok. I had been taking massive quantities of Vicodin for about 40 days. I knew what pain was and it was huge.
I figured it was more quackery like all the other Doctors I had visited.
The next day I was in pretty intense pain but nothing like when the Anesthesiologist at the sports medicine clinic charged me $ 2000 to knick my spine with a needle when giving me a steroid epidural. That caused a two day migraine. Damn that was horrible.
So I was hurting but was used to the pain. The second day after the visit with Dr. Billy, I awoke and realized I wasn’t in pain. It was a new feeling. Pain was there still but it was nothing like the last 45 days. I stood, moved my arms about and cried. It was the first relief I had experienced since the injury. I went back the next day and he repeated the subtle movements but with slight modifications. Again the next day hurt but not as bad. The second following day was again an improvement. It took a week and a half but after that time I felt no pain or problems. This whole procedure with Dr. Wright cost me about $ 300. I had already spent $ 7000 before with other doctors and several chiropractor hacks that were referred to as the best of the best. I hugged Dr. Billy and his dad and vowed to spread the word. They dont take insurance and that is fine with me, because they just charge a fair fee for the time they spend healing.

These guys are «old school» and do a tremendous job. Being able to walk-​in during the mornings is really helpful. They are a service-​oriented family business and it shows.

Having had more than 30 years of experience with a host of different chiropractors, the Wrights, Dr. Bob and Dr. Billy, are among the very best I’ve seen! Both father and son have an uncanny way of «feeling» where in the back the problem lies. And like other reviewers, I concur it’s a wonderful family business.

I don’t have health insurance (and they don’t take insurance either), but when I had an issue, they more than took care of me. I had never been to a Chiropractor and to be quite honest, I didn’t know what to expect. They are nothing short of FANTASTIC and I cannot speak highly enough about them.

A long, long time ago, someone told me that if I ever needed a chiropractor, I should go to this guy on 12^th Street. Having never used a chiropractor, I paid little attention. Then when I did need a chiropractor, a different friend recommended Dr. Wright, on 12^th Street. I remembered, and went, and have never been sorry.
They don’t handle insurance claims, that’s your responsibility. This allows them to keep rates low.
Walk-​ins every morning, appointments can be scheduled in the afternoon only. Closed Wednesday afternoons.
It’s a family operation. The Dr. Wright I used to see is mostly retired, and his son is my caregiver now. I believe he’s the third generation, but possibly fourth. The ladies behind the desk are either his wife or his sister.
What I really love is that, after your first adjustment, they take you to a dimly lit room where a row of low padded benches give you a place to lie down. They put a small pillow under your head, and can also provide a bolster for your knees and a blanket if you desire. Quiet music plays, and usually I take a 20-​minute nap until I hear Dr. Billy’s quiet, «Joy? You wanna come on back to the table?»
Then I get a second adjustment, after all my muscles have had a chance to relax from the first one. It makes all the difference in the world!

Not your typical chiropractor. No X-​rays. No long term treatment plans. No «buy my stretching DVD». None of that. Dr. Billy (as his patients call him) is a 3^rd generation chiropractor. His dad, Dr. Bob, has been working in that site for more than 50 years. Both do exceptional work.
When you are there, you become part of the family (sister in law at the desk makes you welcome.) Weekday walk-​in hours and reasonable prices make it all even better. They will put your back in line, let you rest a little, double check that everything held, then send you on your way refreshed.
