Great food, but it would have been nice to get our chips and queso before our meal instead of after.

This place sucked! The servers were all stoned and couldn’t understand our food and beverage orders. Yeas, I want my water in a glass with the vodka shot. The drink we ordered was the weakest I’ve ever had and the food was mediocre.

This was my 1st& last time eating at Wahoo’s. Not being familiar with the menu, I just told the employee that I wanted a 2 fish taco combo platter with rice and beans. I had specifically mentioned to the employee that I wanted a combo with tacos, rice and beans. She charged my card and I waited for quite a while for the food to come out. When the food finally arrived, all I received were 2 tacos. I called the server over to bring the problem to her attention and she said that the rice and beans were extra and that I hadn’t paid for them. I disagreed with her and she called over the manager who basically reiterated what the server said. Although I argued that what I had ordered included rice and beans, the manager refused to be a stand up guy and bring it to me. So, they lost a potential repeat customer over an item that costs them pennies. That, and for what I received, it was way over-priced and the quality wasn’t very good. It’s all hype. I can get way better fish tacos at my local Mexican taco shop and pay much less for them.

I’ve been to Wahoo’s several times while in CA. They’re good. The other day I was with my mom and my newborn daughter and we had to use the restrooms desperately. So heeding the«NOPUBLICRESTROOMS» sign, I decided to buy something to drink(it was hot out). I was charged $ 5.25 for a Maine Ginger Brew bottle. I could have had beer for cheaper. I felt like the dude at the counter took advantage of the fact that it was obvious we wanted to use the bathroom, I was distracted by my baby. and I was. Shame on me for getting duped but I’m never going back. Actually, I will and just sneak into the bathroom because I think I should get about 10 more trips to the bathroom for that price.

Staff was not friendly or welcoming at all! We stopped in for afternoon beers AKA use the bathroom. Bought a few beers so we could use their restroom! The beers were perfectly cold and the Hispanic lady cleaning up the tables was super friendly! Didn’t try food.

Somehow skateboards and punk rock stickers make the perfect ambience for grilled fished tacos. I crush the taco combo about once a week before work. The staff is funny too. This place is doesn’t take itself seriously and I like that.

I had the wahoo bowl with blackened fish which was pretty tasty and a bit spicy(not too hot not too mild). Price was pretty high compared to the quantity. Setting is nice and staff was courteous.

Cool place located on the SoCo area of Austin. I’m a big fan of fish tacos in general so I had to check this place out. The decór here reminded me of a divey bar, but with a lot less stickiness to the floor. Everything was nice and clean and I moseyed my way to the bar. The bartender/server was super friendly and he was accommodating enough to search(to no avail *sad emoji*) to find the BlackHawks game. I got a few fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious. A good place to check out and meet some locals. BATHROOMREVIEW: The bathrooms in this place was surprisingly clean and well-maintained. It had a urinal and toilet, but you can lock up the entire bathroom if you want to pee/poop in privacy. Given the divey atmosphere though, I would probably still squat, instead of sit.

«Rest Rooms for customers only». Might have been a customer if I could have used the rest room.

I’m from southern Cali and this place reminds me of home! Fresh, fast, easy, delicious and affordable. #1 with blacken chicken taco is yummy. The bar is kick back and a great place to fly solo or with a few friends. They also do take-out for the nights when I am lazy!

I don’t think anything more needs to be said about this place but since I’m waiting for my delicious fish tacos, what the hell. It’s a taco shop with a bar. What more could you ask for??? My boyfriend and I came in a wee bit early, by about 10 mins before they opened. Completely clueless we apologized and said we would come back but the girl was sweet enough to insist that we stay and order. Good service is always filed away in a special place for me here in Austin as it is terribly hard to come by. The food was tasty and the music playing was great. Plus, I used to go to Wahoo’s for lunch all the time when I lived in L.A. It’s always a nice option for when I’m feeling that homesickness coming on. Thanks for being a place I can count on Wahoo’s!

DELICIOUS and super fun atmosphere! The shrimp bowl is amazing! I get with black beans and white rice. The beer selection is decent, although I never pay attention to what’s on draft. They have a good amount of seating inside but I suggest sitting outside if possible. They have the perfect location for people watching on Congress. Highly recommended as long as you’re not looking for«authentic» Mexican.

Sadly, the Austin version of Wahoo’s is a meager reflection of the glory that is Wahoo’s on the west coast. Instead of fresh shredded cabbage there was this strange and unappealing coleslaw-ish foodstuff atop my taco. I looked like wilted unhappy vegetable garnish(although there was a $ 2.50 draft pint of a local brew, so this situation is not completely hopeless) With SO many good taco options in Austin, I’d avoid this west coast staple. And please, don’t judge the chain based on this sad impersonator. Austinites, when you find yourself on the west coast, please stop in and taste the difference.

I came here on a whim for quick lunch near the hotel I was staying at. The décor inside is very eclectic, service was fast, and tacos were fresh. I ordered 2 shrimp tacos, 2 blackend fish tacos, and 2 grilled fish tacos. The blackened fish taco were the best. I would definitely come back when I am in the area.

Oh man. This place ruins diets. I’ll admit I’ve never tried the fish tacos here, but I’ve tried the teriyaki beef tacos, chicken tacos and pork enchilada. Considering how delicious it is, I’ll definitely be back and will eventually get around to trying those damned fish tacos. Heather is the best. Go see her on a Tuesday. She’s there all day and manages to keep a smile on her face the whole time. Ask her what to order, she’s got a sixth sense for knowing exactly what you want. Also, get the infused vodka. Maybe it’s not always vodka, but it was when I ordered it and I place it in my top four best decisions ever made.

I love me some Fish Tacos! And Wahoo’s serves it Right EVERY Time! If you’re feeling a lil’ hungry, order the #1A One Fish Taco, blackened. Black Beans(tastier than the white beans). White rice(I just like the way it looks next to the black beans). OR if you’re feeling Extra Hungry order the Outer Reef Burrito. That thing is a Beast of Burrito! Plus Monday — Wednesday … Happy Hour All-Day! Is Wahoo’s a Chain? Yup, but to be honest once you walk inside this location, it Really Doesn’t feel like one! And that’s one thing I really love about it.

This is THEBESTPLACE in SoCo to get a cheap draft. It has a real alt-sports vibe, but even if that’s not your thing, who cares because the beers are cheaper than gasoline. Their queso is entirely adequate for HH, goes great with beer. Food rec: Shrimp burrito covered in queso. Cover everything in whatever sauces you can get your hands on, then add Cholula.

This place is within close walking distance so we frequent this place on good weather days and sit outside a lot. Chicken Teriyaki Bowl — actually one of my favorites over the fish tacos. Im not a fan of teriyaki but this is almost a lighter version of the sauce. It’s thinner and not really as sweet which makes it perfect for me. There is a hint of sweet — dont get me wrong but if you’re an avid hard core traditional teriyaki sauce lover, you may be disappointed. I always get the«green sauce» and spritz lime over the whole plate. Fish tacos — I didnt get it this time but they are good and flavorful. I get the«green sauce» and spritz lime over everything on this dish as well. I do tend to need to add salt to the dishes but I am a salt girl. Also between the two I’d rather have to add salt than the dish come out too salty.

It was just so hot. Walking around Austin in the summertime was just wearing on us and we wanted to stop for a beverage. We stopped into the other Wahoo location in Austin for a Giant Margarita(for me) and a ice cold beer for my guy. Getting out of the heat and into the air conditioned space was pretty nice. It was so refreshing. My nephew would love this place, they have some pretty cool skateboard decks as wall art and is a fun laid back kinda place. Good family spot.
