Courtney is amazingly talented! I have very long, super thick hair that requires quite a bit of layering and shaping(and takes a good amount of time and patience, too). She did an excellent job at blending all of my layers and did a great job with my ‘bangs’/facial framing. This girl knows how to cut! The pieces around my face finally fall naturally and I don’t have to style them into place! She truly listens to what cut her clients want. She is very precise and picky about each piece of your hair, and that makes for a great stylist in my book! If you want a great experience with a beautiful haircut then go see Courtney at the Barton Creek Mall VC location!

Read another reviewer’s experience with Arlyn and gave her a try as I too have thick long wavy(uncontrollable) hair and she was absolutely amazing. She’s a really good listener, anything I requested, she did it and then some. She also offered tips for how to better take care of my hair, and used a leave-in product for my specific hair type(even gave me a free sample). I’d normally go to Aveda Institute and rarely buy anything, but THIS I will be buying. Left my hair looking/feeling flawless, hard to believe it’s the same hair. The best part is the price! Paid $ 30 + tip, which included a free shampoo’ing beforehand. Only downside was the front desk attendants, were curt and not at all warm or friendly. Side note: the salon does free bang trims, and mall employees receive 10% discount.

As a first time visitor to VC I was super impressed. My mom is a hairstylist and has cut my hair my whole life. Since she moved out of state 5 years ago, I have been struggling to find someone who can handle my thick, long hair. I am really not too picky, but after having had my hair screwed up by TGF so many times, I decided to try something else. And I am SO glad I did. Zee did such an amazing job. I brought along a picture of what I wanted(long layers, nothing fancy) and gave me exactly that. She walked me through everything step-by-step and asked questions. My hair looks healthy and awesome now. She is also super cool and makes you feel comfortable — check her out! P. S.: Some advice, always bring a picture of what you want. You can’t expect your stylist to read your mind! :)

Walked in to kill some time one afternoon, needed a bang trim! Didn’t wait long, was with Zee after a quick few minutes! She was so nice and cool, I really felt listened to with what I wanted(which doesn’t happy often with bangtrims)! I wasnt rushed out, she really took her time. Ill be back when I need a full cut!

I have gone to many hair salons and the stylists never get my hair«just right». I believe cutting hair is really an art form… the stylists must have a true passion. I discovered, Arlyn almost 3-years ago and she is amazing. She NAILS my stylist every time. My hair is thick and wavy… very difficult to get the cut right. I have a bi-level cut and straighten it. She never misses. She is also so personable and really cares about her work. My mom was a stylist for years. This is NOT an easy profession but it IS an art form. I can’t say enough about her. I have been to so many salons in Austin and then, discovered Arlyn. I haven’t had a bad cut since!

Love love love my new haircut and highlights! Amber is the BEST colorist, she always knows what I want! Margaret is probably the only person who understands how I want my bangs and the rest of my hairstyle! Kudos! Great experience!

I’ve been coming to visible changes since I was a little girl. I recently just visited the visible changes here in Austin. The man who cut my hair did a beautiful job! I love it so much! But the lady who dyed my hair was awful. She did not give me what I wanted. She had to fix it 4TIMES! By then my hair was completely DAMAGED! I went up to the the receptionist because YES I STILLHADTOPAY! I was complete in tears! My hair is a dark brown color and she basically made my hair ALL blonde! I told her I just wanted highlight. She tried to fix my hair by adding an ash color to my hair which made it GREEN! I walked out of the salon with GREENHAIR! The receptionist told me to come back in an 3 hours to redo my hair. When I came back to meet with my hair consultant, the manager was just sitting there staring me down! Which was extremely rude. At the end, this new hair stylist did want she can do with my damaged hair. She added mocha to all of my hair. So the top of my hair pull a RED color the middle of my hair was a normal brown and my tips were a very light brown. After several washings my hair is EXTREMELYLIGHT, DEAD and some parts GREEN!

The receptionist with the sharpie eyebrows was extremely rude. I stood right in front of her to check in and she did not even acknowledge me. Another lady check me in finally. I had an appointment and after 45 minutes of waiting, nobody ever came up to me to do the shampoo. Very unprofessional. After waiting I finally walked out and nobody ever called to apologize. I guess you can’t expect much from a mall salon…

I told my mom not to go to visible changes. Did she listen? No. She wanted to get her haircut so badly and her regular stylist couldn’t see her in time. She saw chad at visible changes. He chopped off her hair. She said she wanted a trim and now she looks like lord farquad from shrek. I told her not to pay for it but she did. Now she HATES her hair. Now she’s trying to find ways to make her hair grow faster. When someone says they want a trim, you do not chop off their hair and make them look like a 9 year old boy from 1995. Thanks a lot chad.

Ask for MANNY! All it takes is one hair cut for a person to decide whether or not their stylist is a great fit for them. I just found mine. It took almost a year in Austin to find this jewel of a man. He is precise, focused, a perfectionist, completely comfortable and confident with his skills, and overall just wonderful. He can produce anything from simple and sleek to something edgy and totally unique. Male or female, you will be 100% satisfied and ready to book your next appointment. Thank you Manny!

I had a great experience! I got my hair colored and cut and was done in 2 hours! Customer service was awesome at my arrival & departure. Stylists listened to what I wanted and delivered. I wasn’t really sure about the color, but was told I had a month to see if I liked it. They offered to fix it right then, but I opted to give it a try since I wanted something different in the first place. There was a rainbow of hair colors on the stylists the day I went… Purple, hot pink, turquoise… Not my thing and it made me a little nervous(if the stylist likes their hair crazy colors, what colors are they going to put in my hair!?) but there is a saying about judging books… I’m also proud of VC for their acceptance of tattoos in the workplace. Clearly their employees are happy and able to express themselves and they did a great job on my reserved, tame, mom hair ;)

I have been coming to visible changes at Barton creek for almost 2 years now. I love it there! I get my highlights done by Cierra. She is the best at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to color their hair. I get my highlights done with her and we switch back and forth between partial and full highlights all over. I can’t say enough good things about her! She is so talented and just a good person all around. I just recently started seeing Jessie for trims. She is also extremely great at what she does. I brought my mom in to see both of these women when she was in town and she really enjoyed her coloring and cut. They both consulted her and gave her exactly what she wanted. I would suggest going to visible changes in Barton creek and seeing my two favorite ladies!

I just recently had my hair dyed and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I had gone to the Visible Changes at La Cantera in San Antonio and was extremely happy and assumed they held all of their salons to the same standards, I WASWRONG. The staff never seemed to smile and were more worried about their own person plans for the night than making me feel comfortable what so ever. I was supposed to have the ombré done to my hair and I did not get what i asked for ATALL. It looked like my ends were just dipped in bleach with no blending at all, and when i very politely asked if she could try to blend it she just slapped some more hair dye on and I didnt see her again. I work in the service industry and am not one to be rude but i left FURIOUS. Not only did my hair look terrible but i left with hair dye all over my forehead. Isnt that dying hair 101? So lesson here, DONT go to visible changes, not only will they charge you WAY too much money for a shotty job, but their attitudes match there sub par work.

I had been visiting Texas for the week and went to Visible Changes in Houston and had a great experience there so when i went to Austin, i decided to go again and get my hair styled before a wedding the next day. I was impressed yet again with my hair and with Visible Changes! Thank you!
